< 1 Samuel 27 >

1 And he said David to heart his now I will be swept away a day one by [the] hand of Saul not [belongs] to me good for really I will escape - to [the] land of [the] Philistines and he will desist from me Saul to seek me again in all [the] territory of Israel and I will be delivered from hand his.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita ʻi hono loto, “Ko eni, ʻe ai ha ʻaho te u ʻauha ai nai ʻi he nima ʻo Saula: ʻoku ʻikai ha meʻa lelei hake kiate au, ka ko ʻeku hola ʻo hao ki he fonua ʻoe kau Filisitia; pea ʻe ʻosi ai ʻae mamahi ʻa Saula kiate au, ʻi he toe kumi kiate au ʻi he ngaahi potu fonua ʻo ʻIsileli: ko ia te u hao ai mei hono nima.”
2 And he arose David and he passed over he and six hundred man who [were] with him to Achish [the] son of Maoch [the] king of Gath.
Pea naʻe tuʻu ʻa Tevita, pea hoko atu ia mo e kau tangata ʻe toko onongeau naʻe ʻiate ia kia ʻAkisi, ko e foha ʻo Maoki ko e tuʻi ʻo Kati.
3 And he dwelt David with Achish in Gath he and men his each one and household his David and [the] two wives his Ahinoam the Jezreelite [woman] and Abigail [the] wife of Nabal the Carmelite [woman].

4 And it was told to Saul that he had fled David Gath and not (he repeated *QK) again to seek him.

5 And he said David to Achish if please I have found favor in eyes your let people give to me a place in one of [the] cities of the field so I may dwell there and why? will he dwell servant your in [the] city of royalty with you.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita kia ʻAkisi, “Ko eni, kapau kuo u ʻilo ʻae ʻofa ʻi ho ʻao, tuku kenau foaki mai kiate au ha potu fonua ʻi ha kolo, pe ʻi ʻuta, koeʻuhi ke u nofo ki ai: he koeʻumaʻā ʻae nofo ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeiki mo koe ʻi he kolo ʻae tuʻi?”
6 And he gave to him Achish on the day that Ziklag therefore it has belonged Ziklag to [the] kings of Judah until the day this.
Pea naʻe foaki kiate ia ʻe ʻAkisi ʻa Sikilaki ʻi he ʻaho ko ia: ko ia naʻe toka ai ʻa Sikilaki ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni.
7 And it was [the] number of the days which he dwelt David in [the] region of [the] Philistines days and four months.
Pea ko hono lahi ʻoe ʻaho naʻe nofo ai ʻa Tevita ʻi he fonua ʻoe kakai Filisitia, ko e taʻu ʻe taha mo e māhina ʻe fā.
8 And he went up David and men his and they made raids against the Geshurite[s] (and the Gizrite[s] *QK) and the Amalekite[s] for they [were] dwelling the land which [is] from antiquity coming you Shur towards and to [the] land of Egypt.
Pea naʻe ʻalu hake ʻa Tevita mo hono kau tangata, ʻo tauʻi ʻae kakai Kesuli, mo e kakai Kesili, mo e kakai ʻAmaleki; he ko kinautolu ko e kakai ʻi muʻa ʻoe fonua ʻi hoʻo ʻalu ki Sua, ʻo ʻalu atu ki he fonua ko ʻIsipite.
9 And he struck David the land and not he let live a man and a woman and he took sheep and cattle and donkeys and camels and clothes and he returned and he went to Achish.
Pea naʻe taaʻi ʻe Tevita ʻae fonua, pea naʻe ʻikai tuku ke moʻui ha tangata pe ko e fefine, pea naʻa ne fetuku ʻo ʻave ʻae fanga sipi, mo e fanga pulu, mo e fanga ʻasi, mo e fanga kāmeli, mo e ngaahi kofu, pea liu mai ʻo haʻu, pea hoko ia kia ʻAkisi.
10 And he said Achish against [where] did you make a raid this day and he said David on [the] Negev of Judah and on [the] Negev of the Jerahmeelite[s] and against [the] Negev of the Kenite[s].
Pea pehē ʻe ʻAkisi, “Kuo mou tofa ʻae hala ki fē he ʻaho ni?” Pea pehē ʻe Tevita, “Ki he potu tonga ʻo Siuta, pea ki he potu tonga ʻoe kakai Selamili, pea ki he potu tonga ʻoe kakai Kena.”
11 And a man and a woman not he let live David to bring Gath saying lest they should tell on us saying thus he has done David and [is] thus practice his all the days which he has dwelt in [the] region of [the] Philistines.
Pea naʻe ʻikai fakamoʻui ʻe Tevita ha tangata ʻe tokotaha pe ha fefine, ke ʻomi ʻae ongoongo ki Kati, ʻo ne pehē, Telia naʻa nau haʻu ʻo talaʻi ʻakimautolu, ʻo pehē, naʻe fai pehē ʻe Tevita, pea ʻe pehē pe ʻene anga, lolotonga ʻene nofo ʻi he fonua ʻoe kakai Filisitia.
12 And he trusted Achish in David saying certainly he has become odious among people his among Israel and he will become of me a servant of perpetuity.
Pea naʻe tui ʻa ʻAkisi kia Tevita, ʻo ne pehē, “Kuo fakafehiʻa ʻaupito ʻe ia ʻa hono kakai ʻIsileli kiate ia; ko ia ʻe hoko ai ia ko ʻeku tamaioʻeiki ʻo taʻengata.”
