1 Samuel 16
1 And he said Yahweh to Samuel until when? [are] you mourning to Saul and I I have rejected him from reigning over Israel fill horn your oil and go I will send you to Jesse [the] Beth-lehemite for I have seen among sons his for myself a king.
യഹോവ ശമുവേലിനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജസ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്ന് ഞാൻ ശൗലിനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുകയാൽ നീ അവനുവേണ്ടി എത്രനാൾ വിലപിക്കും? നീ കൊമ്പിൽ തൈലം നിറച്ചു പുറപ്പെടുക; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ബേത്ലഹേമിൽ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുത്തേക്കയയ്ക്കുന്നു. അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനെ ഞാൻ രാജാവായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”
2 And he said Samuel how? will I go and he will hear Saul and he will kill me. And he said Yahweh a heifer of cattle you will take in hand your and you will say to sacrifice to Yahweh I have come.
എന്നാൽ ശമുവേൽ ചോദിച്ചു: “യഹോവേ, ഞാനെങ്ങനെ പോകും? ശൗൽ ഇതേപ്പറ്റി അറിഞ്ഞ് എന്നെ കൊന്നുകളയുമല്ലോ!” യഹോവ അതിനു മറുപടികൊടുത്തു: “നീ ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവുമായി പോകുക. ‘ഞാൻ യഹോവയ്ക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്നു പറയുക.
3 And you will invite Jesse at the sacrifice and I I will make known to you [that] which you will do and you will anoint for me [the one] whom I will say to you.
യിശ്ശായിയെയും യാഗത്തിനു ക്ഷണിക്കുക! നീ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു ഞാൻ കാണിച്ചുതരും. എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി, ഞാൻ കാണിച്ചുതരുന്ന വ്യക്തിയെ നീ അഭിഷേകംചെയ്യണം.”
4 And he did Samuel [that] which he said Yahweh and he came Beth-lehem and they trembled [the] elders of the city to meet him and someone said [in] peace [are] coming? you.
യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശമുവേൽ ചെയ്തു. അദ്ദേഹം ബേത്ലഹേമിൽ എത്തി. പട്ടണത്തലവന്മാർ സംഭ്രമത്തോടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ എതിരേറ്റു. “അങ്ങയുടെ വരവ് സമാധാനത്തോടെയോ?” എന്ന് അവർ ചോദിച്ചു.
5 And he said - peace to sacrifice to Yahweh I have come consecrate yourselves and you will come with me at the sacrifice and he consecrated Jesse and sons his and he invited them to the sacrifice.
അതിന് ശമുവേൽ, “അതേ, സമാധാനത്തോടെതന്നെ. ഞാൻ യഹോവയ്ക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുക! എന്നിട്ട് എന്നോടൊപ്പം യാഗത്തിനു വന്നുചേരുക!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം യിശ്ശായിയെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; അവരെയും യാഗത്തിനു ക്ഷണിച്ചു.
6 And it was when came they and he saw Eliab and he said surely [is] before Yahweh anointed his.
അവർ വന്നെത്തിയപ്പോൾ ശമുവേൽ എലീയാബിനെക്കണ്ടു. “തീർച്ചയായും യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തൻ ഇതാ ഇവിടെ ദൈവമുമ്പാകെ നിൽക്കുന്നല്ലോ,” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ചിന്തിച്ചു.
7 And he said Yahweh to Samuel may not you look to appearance his and to [the] height of stature his for I have rejected him for - not [that] which he sees man for man he sees to the eyes and Yahweh he sees to the heart.
എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ശമുവേലിനോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “അവന്റെ രൂപമോ പൊക്കമോ നോക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ അവനെ തള്ളിയിരിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യൻ കാണുന്നതുപോലെയല്ല യഹോവ കാണുന്നത്. മനുഷ്യൻ പുറമേയുള്ള രൂപം നോക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ഹൃദയത്തെ നോക്കുന്നു.”
8 And he called Jesse to Abinadab and he made pass by him before Samuel and he said also this one not he has chosen Yahweh.
ഇതിനുശേഷം യിശ്ശായി അബീനാദാബിനെ വിളിച്ച് ശമുവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരുത്തി. “ഇവനെയും യഹോവ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല,” എന്നു ശമുവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
9 And he made pass by Jesse Shammah and he said also this one not he has chosen Yahweh.
പിന്നെ യിശ്ശായി ശമ്മായെ വരുത്തി. “ഇവനെയും യഹോവ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല,” എന്നു ശമുവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
10 And he made pass by Jesse seven of sons his before Samuel and he said Samuel to Jesse not he has chosen Yahweh these.
യിശ്ശായി തന്റെ ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരെയും ശമുവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരുത്തി. എന്നാൽ “യഹോവ ഇവരെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല,” എന്നു ശമുവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
11 And he said Samuel to Jesse ¿ are they finished the young men and he said still he remains the young [one] and there! [he is] shepherding the flock and he said Samuel to Jesse send! and bring him for not we will turn round until comes he here.
അതുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം യിശ്ശായിയോട്, “ഇത്രയും പുത്രന്മാർമാത്രമാണോ നിനക്കുള്ളത്” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. യിശ്ശായി മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇനിയും ഏറ്റവും ഇളയവനുണ്ട്. അവൻ ആടുകളെ മേയിക്കുകയാണ്.” ശമുവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു: “ആളയച്ച് അവനെ വരുത്തുക. അവൻ വന്നെത്തുന്നതുവരെ നാം ഭക്ഷണത്തിനിരിക്കുകയില്ല.”
12 And he sent and he brought him and he [was] red with beautiful of eyes and good of appearance. And he said Yahweh arise anoint him for this [is] he.
അതിനാൽ യിശ്ശായി ആളയച്ച് അവനെ വരുത്തി. അവൻ ചെമപ്പുനിറമുള്ളവനും അഴകുറ്റ കണ്ണുകളുള്ള അതിസുന്ദരനും ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അവനെ അഭിഷേകംചെയ്യുക; അവനാണ് തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ!”
13 And he took Samuel [the] horn of oil and he anointed him in [the] midst of brothers his and it rushed [the] spirit of Yahweh to David from the day that and on-wards and he arose Samuel and he went Ramah towards.
അതിനാൽ ശമുവേൽ തൈലംനിറച്ച കൊമ്പെടുത്ത് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ ദാവീദിനെ അഭിഷേകംചെയ്തു. അന്നുമുതൽ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവ് ശക്തിയോടെ ദാവീദിന്മേൽവന്ന് ആവസിച്ചു. അതിനെത്തുടർന്നു ശമുവേൽ രാമായിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
14 And [the] spirit of Yahweh it departed from with Saul and it terrified him a spirit evil from with Yahweh.
അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു ശൗലിനെ വിട്ടകന്നു. യഹോവ അയച്ച ഒരു ദുരാത്മാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
15 And they said [the] servants of Saul to him here! please a spirit of God evil [is] terrifying you.
ശൗലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “ദൈവം അയച്ച ഒരു ദുരാത്മാവ് അങ്ങയെ ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
16 Let him say please lord our servants your before you let them seek a person [who] knows playing on the harp and it will be when is on you a spirit of God evil and he will play with hand his and good [will belong] to you.
കിന്നരം വായനയിൽ നിപുണനായ ഒരാളെ തെരഞ്ഞു കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാൻ അടിയങ്ങൾക്കു കൽപ്പന തന്നാലും! ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് ദുരാത്മാവ് അങ്ങയുടെമേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ അയാൾ കിന്നരം വായിക്കും. തിരുമനസ്സിന് ആശ്വാസം തോന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 And he said Saul to servants his see please for me a person [who] does well to play and you will bring [him] to me.
“കിന്നരം വായനയിൽ നിപുണനായ ഒരുവനെ കണ്ടുപിടിച്ച് എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരിക,” എന്ന് ശൗൽ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർക്കു കൽപ്പനകൊടുത്തു.
18 And he answered one from the young men and he said here! I have seen a son of Jesse [the] Beth-lehemite [who] knows to play and a mighty [man] of strength and a man of war and [one] discerning of word and a man of form and Yahweh [is] with him.
ശൗലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവൻ പറഞ്ഞു: “ബേത്ലഹേമ്യനായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്; അവൻ കിന്നരം വായനയിൽ നിപുണനും പരാക്രമശാലിയായ യോദ്ധാവും വാക്ചാതുര്യമുള്ളവനും കോമളരൂപമുള്ളവനുമാണ്. യഹോവയും അവനോടുകൂടെയുണ്ട്.”
19 And he sent Saul messengers to Jesse and he said send! to me David son your who [is] with the flock.
അപ്പോൾ ശൗൽ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ച്, “ആടുകളെ മേയിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ മകൻ ദാവീദിനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയയ്ക്കുക” എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
20 And he took Jesse a donkey bread and a skin-bottle of wine and a kid of goats one and he sent [them] by [the] hand of David son his to Saul.
അതിനാൽ യിശ്ശായി ഒരു കഴുതയെ വരുത്തി, അപ്പവും ഒരു തുരുത്തി വീഞ്ഞും ഒരു കോലാട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെയും കയറ്റി അവയെ തന്റെ മകൻ ദാവീദുവശം ശൗലിനു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.
21 And he came David to Saul and he stood before him and he loved him exceedingly and he was of him bearer of armor.
ദാവീദ് ശൗലിന്റെ അടുത്തെത്തി. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു. ശൗലിന് അവനോടു വളരെ സ്നേഹമായി. അവൻ ശൗലിന്റെ ആയുധവാഹകന്മാരിൽ ഒരാളായിത്തീർന്നു.
22 And he sent Saul to Jesse saying let him stand please David before me for he has found favor in eyes my.
അപ്പോൾ ശൗൽ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ച്, “ദാവീദിനോട് എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ താമസിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
23 And it was when was a spirit of God to Saul and he took David the harp and he played with hand his and it was relief to Saul and good [belonged] to him and it departed from on him [the] spirit of evil.
ദൈവം അയച്ച ദുരാത്മാവ് ശൗലിന്റെമേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് കിന്നരമെടുത്തു വായിക്കും. അപ്പോൾ ശൗലിന് ആശ്വാസവും സുഖവും ലഭിക്കും; ദുരാത്മാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിട്ടുപോകുകയും ചെയ്യും.
