1 John 4

1 Beloved, not every spirit do believe but do test the spirits whether of God they are, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Mine käreste, I skolen icke tro hvar och en anda; utan pröfver andarna, om de äro af Gudi; ty månge falske Propheter äro utgångne i verldena.

2 By this (you know *NK+O) the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ in [the] flesh having come of God is.

Derpå skolen I känna Guds Anda; hvar och en ande, som bekänner att Jesus Christus är kommen i köttet, han är af Gudi.

3 and any spirit that not confesses Jesus (Christ in flesh having come *K) from God not is; And this is that of the antichrist which you have heard that is coming and now in the world is already.

Och hvar och en ande, som icke bekänner att Jesus Christus är kommen i köttet, han är icke af Gudi; och det är Antichrists ( ande ), af hvilkom I hafven hört att han skulle komma, och är nu allaredo i verldene.

4 you yourselves from God are, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is the [One] in you than the [one] in the world.

Kära barn, I ären af Gudi, och hafven öfvervunnit dem; ty den som är i eder, han är större än den som är i verldene.

5 They themselves of the world are; because of this from out of the world they speak and the world to them listens.

De äro af verldene; derföre tala de af verldene, och verlden hörer dem.

6 We ourselves of God are; The [one] knowing God listens to us; He who not is from God not listens to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

Vi ärom af Gudi. Den som känner Gud, han hörer oss; den som icke är af Gudi, han hörer oss intet. Deraf känne vi sanningenes Anda, och villones anda.

7 Beloved, we may love one another, because love from God is and everyone who is loving from God has been born and knows God;

Mine käreste, älskom oss inbördes; ty kärleken är af Gudi, och hvar och en som älskar, han är född af Gudi, och känner Gud.

8 The [one] not loving not has known God, because God love is.

Den som icke älskar, han känner icke Gud; ty Gud är kärleken.

9 In this has been revealed the love of God among us, that the Son of Him the one and only has sent God into the world so that we may live through Him.

Derpå är Guds kärlek till oss uppenbar vorden, att Gud hafver sändt sin enda Son i verldena, att vi skolom lefva genom honom.

10 In this is love, not that we ourselves (have loved *N+kO) God, but that He himself loved us and He sent the Son of Him [as] a propitiation for the sins of us.

Deruti står kärleken; icke det vi hafvom älskat Gud; men det han hafver älskat oss, och sändt sin Son till en försoning för våra synder.

11 Beloved, if so God loved us, also we ourselves ought one another to love;

Mine käreste, hafver Gud så älskat oss, så skolom ock vi älskas inbördes.

12 God no [one] at any time has seen; if we shall love one another, God in us abides and the love of Him in us perfected is.

Ingen hafver någon tid sett Gud; om vi älskoms inbördes, så blifver Gud i oss, och hans kärlek är fullkommen i oss.

13 By this we know that in Him we abide and He in us, because from out the Spirit of Him He has given to us.

Derpå kännom vi, att vi blifvom i honom, och han i oss, att han hafver gifvit oss af sinom Anda.

14 And we ourselves have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son [as] Savior of the world.

Och vi sågom och betygom, att Fadren hafver sändt Sonen, verldene till en Frälsare.

15 Who[ever] (maybe *N+kO) shall confess that Jesus (Christ *O) is the Son of God, God in him abides and he in God.

Hvar och en som bekänner, att Jesus är Guds Son, i honom blifver Gud, och han i Gudi.

16 And we ourselves have come to know and we have come to believe the love that has God as to us. God love is, and the [one] abiding in love in God abides, and God in him (abides. *NO)

Och vi hafve känt och trott den kärlek, som Gud hafver till oss. Gud är kärleken; och den som blifver i kärlekenom, han blifver i Gudi, och Gud i honom.

17 In this has been perfected love with us, so that confidence we may have in the day of judgment, that even as He is also we ourselves are in world this.

Derpå är kärleken fullkommen med oss, att vi mågom hafva en förtröstning på domedag; ty såsom han är, så ärom ock vi i denna verld.

18 Fear no there is in love, but perfect love out casts fear, because the fear punishment has; the [one] now fearing not has been perfected in love.

Räddhåge är icke i kärlekenom; utan fullkommelig kärlek utdrifver räddhågan; ty räddhågan hafver pino; men den der rädes, han är icke fullkommen i kärlekenom.

19 We ourselves love (him *K) because He himself first loved us.

Älskom honom, ty han hafver först älskat oss.

20 If anyone shall say that I love God and the brother of him may hate, a liar he is; The [one] for not loving the brother of him whom he has seen, God whom not he has seen (not *N+KO) is he able to love;

Om någor säger: Jag älskar Gud, och hatar sin broder, han är en ljugare. Ty den der icke älskar sin broder, som han ser, huru kan han älska Gud, som han icke ser?

21 And this the commandment we have from Him, that the [one] loving God may love also the brother of him.

Och detta budet hafve vi af honom, att den der älskar Gud, han skall ock älska sin broder.
