1 John 4
1 Beloved, not every spirit do believe but do test the spirits whether of God they are, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Mga hinigugma, ayaw tuohi ang matag espiritu, apan sulayi ang mga espiritu aron makita kung sila iya ba sa Dios, tungod kay daghang mini nga mga propeta ang midagsang sa kalibotan.
2 By this (you know *NK+O) the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ in [the] flesh having come of God is.
Pinaagi niini inyong masayran ang Espiritu sa Dios—ang matag espiritu nga nag-ila nga si Jesu-Cristo mianhi diha sa unod iya sa Dios,
3 and any spirit that not confesses Jesus (Christ in flesh having come *K) from God not is; And this is that of the antichrist which you have heard that is coming and now in the world is already.
ug ang matag espiritu nga wala moila kang Jesus dili iya sa Dios. Kini mao ang espiritu sa anti-cristo, nga inyong nadunggan nga moabot, ug karon ania na sa kalibotan.
4 you yourselves from God are, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is the [One] in you than the [one] in the world.
Kamo iya sa Dios, hinigugmang mga anak, ug gidaog na sila tungod kay siya nga anaa kaninyo mas dako pa kay kaniya nga anaa sa kalibotan.
5 They themselves of the world are; because of this from out of the world they speak and the world to them listens.
Sila iya sa kalibotan, busa kung unsa ang ilang isulti iya sa kalibotan, ug ang kalibotan maminaw kanila.
6 We ourselves of God are; The [one] knowing God listens to us; He who not is from God not listens to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
Kita iya sa Dios. Siya nga nakaila sa Dios maminaw kanato. Siya nga dili iya sa Dios dili maminaw kanato. Pinaagi niini masayod kita sa matuod nga espiritu ug sa sayop nga espiritu.
7 Beloved, we may love one another, because love from God is and everyone who is loving from God has been born and knows God;
Mga hinigugma, maghinigugmaay kita sa matag-usa, tungod kay ang gugma iya sa Dios, ang matag-usa nga mahigugma natawo sa Dios ug makaila sa Dios.
8 The [one] not loving not has known God, because God love is.
Ang tawo nga wala mahigugma wala nakaila sa Dios, kay ang Dios gugma.
9 In this has been revealed the love of God among us, that the Son of Him the one and only has sent God into the world so that we may live through Him.
Niini ang gugma sa Dios napadayag sa atong taliwala, nga ang Dios nagpadala sa iyang bugtong anak sa kalibotan aron nga kita mabuhi pinaagi kaniya.
10 In this is love, not that we ourselves (have loved *N+kO) God, but that He himself loved us and He sent the Son of Him [as] a propitiation for the sins of us.
Mao kini ang gugma, dili kita ang nahigugma sa Dios, apan siya nahigugma kanato, ug nagpadala sa iyang Anak nga mahimong halad-sakripisyo sa atong mga sala.
11 Beloved, if so God loved us, also we ourselves ought one another to love;
Mga hinigugma, kung ang Dios nahigugma pag-ayo kanato, kita usab kinahanglan mahigugma sa matag-usa.
12 God no [one] at any time has seen; if we shall love one another, God in us abides and the love of Him in us perfected is.
Walay bisan usa ang nakakita sa Dios. Kung maghigugmaay kita sa matag-usa, ang Dios magpabilin kanato ug ang iyang gugma mahingpit dinhi kanato.
13 By this we know that in Him we abide and He in us, because from out the Spirit of Him He has given to us.
Pinaagi niini masayran nato nga kita nagpabilin kaniya ug siya nganhi kanato, tungod kay iyang gihatag kanato ang iyang Espiritu.
14 And we ourselves have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son [as] Savior of the world.
Ug atong nakit-an ug nasaksihan nga ang Amahan nagpadala sa iyang Anak nga mahimong manluluwas sa kalibotan.
15 Who[ever] (maybe *N+kO) shall confess that Jesus (Christ *O) is the Son of God, God in him abides and he in God.
Si bisan kinsa nga moila nga si Jesus ang Anak sa Dios, ang Dios mopabilin kaniya ug siya anaa sa Dios.
16 And we ourselves have come to know and we have come to believe the love that has God as to us. God love is, and the [one] abiding in love in God abides, and God in him (abides. *NO)
Ug nasayod kita ug nagtuo sa gugma nga ang Dios anaa kanato. Ang Dios gugma, ug siya mopabilin diha sa gugma nagpabilin sa Dios, ug ang Dios nagpabilin diha kaniya.
17 In this has been perfected love with us, so that confidence we may have in the day of judgment, that even as He is also we ourselves are in world this.
Niini nga gugma nahimong hingpit sa atong taliwala, aron makabaton kita ug pagsalig sa adlaw sa paghukom, ingon sa iyang pagkasiya, ug mao usab kita niining kalibotana.
18 Fear no there is in love, but perfect love out casts fear, because the fear punishment has; the [one] now fearing not has been perfected in love.
Walay kahadlok diha sa gugma. Apan ang hingpit nga gugma magwagtang sa kahadlok, tungod kay ang kahadlok adunay kalabotan sa silot. Apan ang usa nga mahadlok wala pa nahimong hingpit diha sa gugma.
19 We ourselves love (him *K) because He himself first loved us.
Kita nahigugma tungod kay ang Dios una nga nahigugma kanato.
20 If anyone shall say that I love God and the brother of him may hate, a liar he is; The [one] for not loving the brother of him whom he has seen, God whom not he has seen (not *N+KO) is he able to love;
Kung si bisan kinsa ang mosulti nga, “ako nahigugma sa Dios” apan nagdumot sa iyang igsoon, siya bakakon. Kay ang usa nga wala mahigugma sa iyang igsoon, nga iyang nakita, dili makahigugma sa Dios, nga wala niya makita.
21 And this the commandment we have from Him, that the [one] loving God may love also the brother of him.
Ug mao kini ang kasugoan nga anaa kanato nga gikan kaniya: Si bisan kinsa ang nahigugma sa Dios kinahanglan mahigugma usab sa iyang igsoon.
