Zechariah 7
1 And it came to pass, in the fourth year of Darius the king, that the word of Yahweh came unto Zechariah, on the fourth of the ninth month, in Chisleu;
Και εν τω τετάρτω έτει του βασιλέως Δαρείου έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς τον Ζαχαρίαν τη τετάρτη του εννάτου μηνός, του Χισλεύ·
2 yea when Bethel sent Sherezer and Regemmelech, and his men, —to pacify the face of Yahweh:
και εξαπέστειλαν εις τον οίκον του Θεού τον Σαρεσέρ και τον Ρεγέμ-μέλεχ και τους ανθρώπους αυτών, διά να εξιλεώσωσι το πρόσωπον του Κυρίου,
3 to speak unto the priests that pertained to the house of Yahweh of hosts, and unto the prophets, saying, —Shall I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
να λαλήσωσι προς τους ιερείς τους εν τω οίκω του Κυρίου των δυνάμεων και προς τους προφήτας, λέγοντες, Να κλαύσω εν τω μηνί τω πέμπτω αποχωρισθείς, καθώς ήδη έκαμον τοσαύτα έτη;
4 Then came the word of Yahweh of hosts unto me, saying:
Και έγεινε λόγος του Κυρίου των δυνάμεων προς εμέ, λέγων,
5 Speak thou unto all the people of the land, and unto the priests, saying, —When ye fasted and lamented in the fifth and in the seventh, even these seventy years, did ye, really fast, unto, me?
Λάλησον προς πάντα τον λαόν της γης και προς τους ιερείς, λέγων, και επενθείτε εν τω πέμπτω και εν τω εβδόμω μηνί τα εβδομήκοντα εκείνα έτη, ενηστεύετε τωόντι δι' εμέ; δι' εμέ;
6 And, when ye used to eat and when ye used to drink, was it not, of your own accord, ye did eat, and, of your own accord, ye did drink?
Και ότε ετρώγετε και ότε επίνετε, δεν ετρώγετε και επίνετε δι' εαυτούς;
7 Should ye not [have been doing] the things which Yahweh, had proclaimed, by the hand of the former prophets, while yet Jerusalem was inhabited and in peace, with her cities round about her, —and the South and the Lowland were inhabited?
δεν είναι ούτοι οι λόγοι, τους οποίους ο Κύριος ελάλησε διά των προτέρων προφητών, ότε η Ιερουσαλήμ ήτο κατωκημένη και εν ευημερία και αι πόλεις αυτής κύκλω εν αυτή, ότε κατωκείτο το μεσημβρινόν και η πεδινή;
8 And the word of Yahweh came unto Zechariah, saying:
Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς τον Ζαχαρίαν, λέγων,
9 Thus, spake Yahweh of hosts, saying, —With true justice, give ye judgment, and, lovingkindness and compassions, observe ye, one with another;
Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, λέγων, Κρίνετε κρίσιν αληθείας και κάμνετε έλεος και οικτιρμόν, έκαστος προς τον αδελφόν αυτού,
10 And, the widow and the fatherless, the sojourner and the humbled, do not ye oppress, —and, wickedness between one man and another, do not ye devise in your hearts.
και μη καταδυναστεύετε την χήραν και τον ορφανόν, τον ξένον και τον πένητα, και μηδείς από σας ας μη βουλεύηται κακόν κατά του αδελφού αυτού εν τη καρδία αυτού.
11 Howbeit they refused to give heed, but put forth a rebellious shoulder, —and, their ears, made they hard of hearing, that they might not hear;
Αλλ' ηρνήθησαν να προσέξωσι και έστρεψαν νώτα απειθή και εβάρυναν τα ώτα αυτών διά να μη ακούσωσι.
12 and, their heart, turned they into adamant, that they might not hear the law, nor the words which Yahweh of hosts sent by his spirit, through the former prophets, —and so there came great wrath from Yahweh of hosts.
Ναι, αυτοί έκαμον τας καρδίας αυτών αδάμαντα, ώστε να μη ακούσωσι τον νόμον και τους λόγους, τους οποίους ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων εξαπέστειλεν εν τω πνεύματι αυτού διά των προτέρων προφητών· διά τούτο ήλθεν οργή μεγάλη παρά του Κυρίου των δυνάμεων.
13 Therefore came it to pass that—just as he cried out and they hearkened not, so, used they to cry out, and I used not to hearken, saith Yahweh of hosts;
Όθεν καθώς αυτός έκραξε και αυτοί δεν εισήκουον, ούτως αυτοί έκραξαν και εγώ δεν εισήκουον, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων·
14 But I whirled them over all the nations whom they had not known, and, the land, was made desolate after them, that none passed through and returned, —Yea they made of a delightful land—a desolation.
αλλά διεσκόρπισα αυτούς ως δι' ανεμοστροβίλου εις πάντα τα έθνη, τα οποία δεν εγνώριζον. Και ο τόπος ηρημώθη κατόπιν αυτών, ώστε δεν υπήρχεν ο διαβαίνων ουδέ ο επιστρέφων· και έθεσαν την γην την επιθυμητήν εις ερήμωσιν.
