< Zechariah 3 >

1 And he shewed me, Joshua the high priest, standing before the messenger of Yahweh, —and, the Accuser, standing at his right hand, to accuse him.
Pea naʻa ne fakahā kiate au ʻa Siosiua, ko e taulaʻeiki lahi, ʻoku tuʻu ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻāngelo ʻa Sihova; pea tuʻu ʻa hono fili ko Sētane ʻi hono potu toʻomataʻu, ko hono tukuakiʻi.
2 Then said Yahweh unto the Accuser, Yahweh rebuke thee, O Accuser, Yea Yahweh rebuke thee, he who is choosing Jerusalem, —Is not, this, a brand snatched out of the fire?
Pea naʻe pehē ʻa Sihova kia Sētane, “ʻE Sētane ke valokiʻi koe ʻe Sihova, ʻio, ʻa Sihova ʻaia kuo ne fili ʻa Selūsalema, ke ne valokiʻi koe! ʻIkai ko e potupotuʻi afi eni, kuo hamusi mai mei he afi?”
3 Now, Joshua, was clothed with filthy garments, —though standing before the messenger.
Ka ko eni, naʻe kofuʻaki ʻa Siosiua ʻae ngaahi kofu fakalielia, ʻi heʻene tuʻu ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻāngelo.
4 Then responded he and spake unto those who were standing before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from off him; and he said unto him, See! I have caused to pass from off thee, thine iniquity, And will cause thee to be clothed in robes of state.
5 Then said I, Let them put a clean turban upon his head, —So they put the clean turban upon his head, and clothed him with garments, and, the messenger of Yahweh, was standing up.
6 So then the messenger of Yahweh did solemnly affirm unto Joshua, saying:
Pea naʻe fakapapau mai ʻe he ʻāngelo ʻa Sihova kia Siosiua, ʻo pehē,
7 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, If, in my ways, thou wilt walk, and if, of my charge, thou wilt keep charge, Then, even thou, shalt govern my house, Moreover also, thou shalt have charge of my courts, —and I will give thee free access among these who stand by.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “Kapau te ke ʻeveʻeva ʻi hoku ngaahi hala, pea kapau te ke fai ki heʻeku fekau, pehē, te ke toki fakamaau foki ʻi hoku fale, pea te ke tauhi foki ʻa hoku ngaahi lotoʻā, pea te u vaheʻi ha ngaahi potu ke ke ʻeveʻeva fakataha ai mo kinautolu ʻoku tau tutuʻu ai ni.
8 Hear, I pray thee, O Joshua the high priest, thou and thy friends who are sitting before thee, for, men to serve as signs, they are, —For behold me! bringing in my servant, the Bud;
Fanongo eni, ʻE Siosiua ko e taulaʻeiki lahi, ʻaa koe, mo hoʻo kaunga ngāue ʻoku nofo ʻi ho ʻao: he ko e kau tangata ʻoku fai ki ai ʻae ofo; he vakai, te u fakahā ʻeau ʻa ʻeku tamaioʻeiki ko e VAA.
9 For lo! the stone which I have set before Joshua, Upon one stone, are Seven (pairs of) Eyes, —Behold me! cutting the engraving thereof, declareth Yahweh of hosts. So will I take away the iniquity of that land in one day.
Koeʻuhi, vakai ki he maka ʻaia kuo u ʻai ʻi he ʻao ʻo Siosiua; ʻe ʻi he maka ʻe taha ʻae mata ʻe fitu; vakai te u tongi ʻeau ʻae tongi ʻe fai ki ai, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ‘pea te u ʻave ʻae angahala ʻae fonua ko ia ʻi he ʻaho pe taha.’
10 In that day, declareth Yahweh of hosts, Ye shall invite one another, —[to come] under the vine and under the fig-tree.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ‘ko e ʻaho ko ia ʻe feuiʻaki ʻae tangata taki taha ki hono kaungāʻapi ʻi he lolo vaine mo e lolo fiki.’”
