Zechariah 1
1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Yahweh unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying: —
En el mes octavo, en el año segundo de Darío, vino palabra del SEÑOR a Zacarías profeta, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:
2 Yahweh, was sore displeased, with your fathers:
Se airó el SEÑOR con ira contra vuestros padres.
3 therefore shalt thou say unto them, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Return ye unto me, urgeth Yahweh of hosts, —that I may return unto you, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Les dirás pues: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Volveos a mí, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y yo me volveré a vosotros, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
4 Do not become like your fathers, unto whom the former prophets, proclaimed, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Return, I pray you, from your wicked ways, and from your wicked practices; but they heard not, nor hearkened unto me, declareth Yahweh.
No seáis como vuestros padres, a los cuales dieron voces los primeros profetas, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Volveos ahora de vuestros malos caminos, y de vuestras malas obras: y nunca oyeron, ni me atendieron, dijo el SEÑOR.
5 Your fathers, where are they? and, the prophets, to times age-abiding, do they live?
Vuestros padres, ¿dónde están? Y los profetas, ¿han de vivir para siempre?
6 Howbeit, as for my words and my statutes with which I charged my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? and so they returned and said, Just as Yahweh of hosts planned to do unto us, according to our ways and according to our practices, So hath he dealt with us?
Pero mis palabras y mis ordenanzas que mandé a mis siervos los profetas, ¿no alcanzaron a vuestros padres? Por eso se volvieron ellos del cautiverio y dijeron: Como el SEÑOR de los ejércitos pensó tratarnos conforme a nuestros caminos, y conforme a nuestras obras, así lo hizo con nosotros.
7 Upon the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, the same, is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Yahweh unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, as followeth:
A los veinticuatro del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Sebat, en el año segundo de Darío, vino palabra del SEÑOR a Zacarías profeta, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:
8 I looked by night, And lo! a man riding upon a red horse, and he was standing among the myrtle trees, in the shade; and, after him, were horses, red, bay, and white.
Vi de noche, y he aquí un varón que cabalgaba sobre un caballo bermejo, el cual estaba entre los arrayanes que había en la hondura; y detrás de él había caballos bermejos, overos, y blancos.
9 Then said I, What are these, my lord? And the messenger who was speaking with me, said unto me, I, will shew thee what these, are.
Y yo dije: ¿Quiénes son éstos, señor mío? Y me dijo el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Yo te enseñaré quiénes son éstos.
10 So the man who was standing among the myrtle-trees responded, and said, —These, are they whom Yahweh, hath sent, to go to and fro through the earth.
Y aquel varón que estaba entre los arrayanes respondió, y dijo: Estos son los que el SEÑOR ha enviado para que anden la tierra.
11 Then responded they to the messenger of Yahweh, who was standing among the myrtle-trees, and said, We have gone to and fro through the earth, —and lo! all the earth, resteth and is quiet.
Y ellos hablaron a aquel ángel del SEÑOR que estaba entre los arrayanes, y dijeron: Hemos andado la tierra, y he aquí toda la tierra está reposada y quieta.
12 Then the messenger of Yahweh responded, and said, O Yahweh of hosts! How long wilt, thou, not have compassion upon Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, —against which thou hast had indignation these seventy years?
Y respondió el ángel del SEÑOR, y dijo: Oh SEÑOR de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo tendrás piedad de Jerusalén, y de las ciudades de Judá, con las cuales has estado airado por espacio de setenta años?
13 And Yahweh answered the messenger who was speaking with me, in words that were pleasant, —words that were consoling,
Y el SEÑOR respondió buenas palabras, palabras consoladoras a aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo.
14 Then the messenger who was speaking with me, said unto me, Proclaim thou, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, I am jealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion, with a great jealousy;
Y me dijo el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Clama diciendo: Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Celé a Jerusalén y a Sion con gran celo;
15 And, with a great displeasure, am I displeased with the careless nations, —in that, when, I, was displeased (for) a little, then, they, helped forward the calamity,
Y con gran enojo estoy airado contra los gentiles que están reposados; porque yo estaba enojado un poco, y ellos ayudaron para el mal.
16 Wherefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, I have returned to Jerusalem, with compassions, My house, shall be built therein, declareth Yahweh of hosts, and, a line, shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem.
Por tanto, así ha dicho el SEÑOR: Yo me he tornado a Jerusalén con miseraciones; mi Casa será edificada en ella, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y línea de albañil será tendida sobre Jerusalén.
17 Further, proclaim thou, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Yet, shall my cities overflow with blessing! So will Yahweh yet, have compassion, upon Zion, and yet make choice of Jerusalem.
Clama aún, diciendo: Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún serán ensanchadas mis ciudades por la abundancia del bien; y aún consolará el SEÑOR a Sion, y escogerá todavía a Jerusalén.
18 Then lifted I up mine eyes and looked, —and lo! Four Horns.
Después alcé mis ojos, y miré, y he aquí cuatro cuernos.
19 And I said unto the messenger who was speaking with me, What are these? And he said unto me, These, are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
Y dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: ¿Qué son éstos? Y me respondió: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron a Judá, a Israel, y a Jerusalén.
20 Then Yahweh shewed me Four Craftsmen.
Me mostró luego el SEÑOR cuatro carpinteros.
21 And I said, What are these coming in to do? And he spake, saying, These, are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head, but these [others] have come in to put them in fear, to cast down the horns of the nations, the which have lifted up the horn against the land of Judah to scatter her.
Y yo dije: ¿Qué vienen éstos a hacer? Y me respondió, diciendo: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron a Judá, tanto que ninguno alzó su cabeza; mas éstos han venido para hacerlos temblar, para derribar los cuernos de los gentiles que alzaron el cuerno sobre la tierra de Judá para aventarla.
