Romans 1
1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, a called apostle, separated unto the glad-message of God—
೧ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ದಾಸನೂ, ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲನಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ, ದೇವರ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಪೌಲನು,
2 Which he promised beforehand, through his prophets, in holy scriptures—
೨ರೋಮಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯರೂ ಹಾಗು ದೇವಜನರಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವ ಪತ್ರ;
3 Concerning his Son, —who came to be of the seed of David, according to flesh,
೩ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೂ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೃಪೆಯೂ ಶಾಂತಿಯೂ ಲಭಿಸಲಿ.
4 Who was distinguished as the Son of God—by power, according to a Holy Spirit, through means of a resurrection of the dead, —Jesus Christ our Lord;
೪ದೇವರು ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಈ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ದೇವರ ಮಗನೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಕುರಿತಾದದ್ದು.
5 Through whom we have received favour and apostleship, for obedience of faith among all the nations, in behalf of his name,
೫ಆತನು ವಂಶಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂತಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೂ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಆತ್ಮನ ಶಕ್ತಿಗನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಸತ್ತಮೇಲೆ ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
6 Among whom are, ye also, called of Jesus Christ:
೬ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನೀವೂ ಸಹ ಆ ಅನ್ಯಜನರೊಳಗಿನವರಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ,
7 Unto all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called saints, favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.
೭ಆತನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೆಂಬ ವಿಧೇಯತ್ವವು ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾವು ಆತನ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲತನವನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದಿದೆವು.
8 First, indeed, I give thanks unto my God, through Jesus Christ, concerning you all, because your faith is being announced throughout the whole world.
೮ಮೊದಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
9 For God is, my witness, —unto whom I am rendering divine service in my spirit, in the glad message of his Son, —how incessantly, I am making mention of you
೯ನಾನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎಡೆಬಿಡದೆ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ದೇವರ ಮಗನ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಾ ದೈವಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೇವರೇ ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ.
10 At all times in my prayers, —making supplication—if, by some means, even now, at any time, I may have a way opened, in the will of God, to come unto you;
೧೦ದೈವಚಿತ್ತದಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರಲು ಈಗಲಾದರೂ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲೆಂದು ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
11 For I am longing to see you, that I may impart some spiritual gift unto you, to the end ye may be established, —
೧೧ನನ್ನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆತ್ಮೀಕ ವರವೇನಾದರೂ ದೊರಕಿ ನೀವು ದೃಢವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಂದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಸಹಾಯ ಹೊಂದಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
12 That is to say—there may be a mutual encouragement among you, each by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
೧೨
13 I do not wish however that ye should be ignorant, brethren, that, many times, have I purposed to come unto you, but have been hindered, until the present, —in order that, some fruit, I might have among you also, even as among the other nations,
೧೩ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವು ಇತರ ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಫಲವಾದಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಫಲವಾದೀತೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನೇಕಾವರ್ತಿ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಯಿತೆಂಬುದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷೆ.
14 Both to Greeks and to Barbarians, both to wise and to unwise, a debtor, I am:
೧೪ಗ್ರೀಕರಿಗೂ ಇತರ ಜನಗಳಿಗೂ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಮೂಢರಿಗೂ ತೀರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಒಂದು ಋಣ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲಿದೆ.
15 Thus, the eagerness on my part—unto you also who are in Rome, to announce the joyful message.
೧೫ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ರೋಮಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಹ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನಂತೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
16 For I am not ashamed of the joyful message; for it is God’s power unto salvation, to every one that believeth, both to Jew [first] and to Greek;
೧೬ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಮೊದಲು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಗ್ರೀಕರಿಗೆ ಅಂತೂ ನಂಬುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ದೇವರ ಬಲಸ್ವರೂಪವಾಗಿದೆ.
17 For, a righteousness of God, is therein revealed, —by faith unto faith: even as it is written—But, he that is righteous, by faith, shall live.
೧೭ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ದೊರಕುವ ನೀತಿಯು ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಬರುತ್ತದೆ. “ನೀತಿವಂತನು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಬದುಕುವನೆಂಬ” ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೋಕ್ತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆ ನೀತಿಯು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುವಂಥದಾಗಿದೆ.
18 For there is being revealed an anger of God from heaven—against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who, the truth, in unrighteousness, do hold down; —
೧೮ಅನೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡುವವರಾದ ದುಷ್ಟಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಧವಾದ ಭಕ್ತಿಹೀನತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ದುಷ್ಟತನದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತದೆ,
19 Inasmuch as, what may be known of God, is manifest among them, for, God, unto them, hath made it manifest, —
೧೯ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯಬಹುದಾದದ್ದು ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೇವರೇ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿರುವನು.
20 For, the unseen things of him, from a world’s creation, by the things made, being perceived, are clearly seen, even his eternal power and divinity, —to the end they should be without excuse; (aïdios g126)
೨೦ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಾಣದಿರುವ ಆತನ ಗುಣಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಅಂದರೆ ಆತನ ನಿತ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯೂ, ದೈವತ್ವವೂ, ಜಗದುತ್ಪತ್ತಿ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಆತನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ನೆಪವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲು ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. (aïdios g126)
21 Inasmuch as, having come to know God, not, as God, did they glorify him, or give him thanks, but were made fruitless in their reasonings, and darkened was their undiscerning heart,
೨೧ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ದೇವರೆಂದು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನ ಉಪಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಸಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಎಷ್ಟೇ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಫಲ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿವೇಕವಿಲ್ಲದ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಕತ್ತಲಾಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
22 Professing to be wise, they were made foolish,
೨೨ತಾವು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಹುಚ್ಚರಾದರು.
23 And, exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God, for the likeness of an image of a corruptible man, and of birds and fourfooted beasts and reptiles:
೨೩ಲಯವಿಲ್ಲದ ದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯ, ಪಶು, ಪಕ್ಷಿ, ಸರಿಸೃಪಗಳು ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳ ರೂಪಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
24 Wherefore God gave them up in the covetings of their hearts unto impurity, so as to be dishonouring their bodies among them, —
೨೪ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವರು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ದುರಾಶೆಗಳಂತೆ ನಡೆದು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಹಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಮಾನಹೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಎಂದು ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಲಸಾದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ನಡತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
25 Who, indeed, exchanged away the truth of God for the falsehood, and rendered worship and service unto the creature rather than unto the Creator, —who is blessed unto the ages. Amen! (aiōn g165)
೨೫ಅವರು ಸತ್ಯ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸದೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೇ ಪೂಜಿಸಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರಾದರು. ಆದರೆ, ಆತನೇ ನಿರಂತರ ಸ್ತುತಿ ಹೊಂದತಕ್ಕವನು, ಆಮೆನ್. (aiōn g165)
26 For this cause, God gave them up unto dishonourable passions; for, even their females, exchanged away the natural use into that which is against nature, —
೨೬ಅವರು ಇಂಥದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಲಜ್ಜಾಸ್ಪದವಾದ ಕಾಮಾಭಿಲಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವರ ಹೆಂಗಸರು ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವಾದ ಭೋಗವನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ಸ್ವಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ಕಾಮಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
27 In like manner also, even the males, leaving the natural use of the female, flamed out in their eager desire one for another, males with males, the indecency, effecting, —and, the necessary recompence of their error, within themselves, duly receiving; —
೨೭ಅದರಂತೆ ಪುರುಷರು ಸಹ ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಸಂಗವನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮಲಿಯೇ ಕಾಮೋದ್ರೇಕಗೊಂಡರು; ಸಲಿಂಗಕಾಮಿಗಳಾದರು; ಲಜ್ಜಾಹೀನರಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸಿದರು; ತಮ್ಮ ದುರ್ನಡತೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
28 And, even as they did not approve to be holding, God, in acknowledgment, God gave them up unto a disapproved mind to be doing the things that are not becoming,
೨೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ತಮಗಿದ್ದ ದೇವರ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಮಾಡಬಾರದ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವವರಾಗುವಂತೆ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಶ್ಲೀಲ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
29 Filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, baseness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil disposition,
೨೯ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ, ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗತನ, ಲೋಭ ದುಷ್ಟತ್ವಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚು, ಕೊಲೆ, ಜಗಳ, ಮೋಸ, ಹಗೆತನಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದವರಾದರು.
30 Whisperers, detractors, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, vain boasters, inventors of vices, unto parents unyielding,
೩೦ಅವರು ಸುಳ್ಳುಸುದ್ದಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿಸುವವರೂ, ಚಾಡಿಹೇಳುವವರೂ, ದೇವರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುವವರೂ, ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನವರೂ, ಅಹಂಕಾರಿಗಳೂ, ಬಡಾಯಿಕೊಚ್ಚುವವರೂ, ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರೂ,
31 Without discernment, regardless of covenants, without natural affection, unmerciful: —
೩೧ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದವರೂ ವಿವೇಕವಿಲ್ಲದವರೂ, ಮಾತಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪುವವರೂ, ಮಮತೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರೂ, ಕರುಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರೂ ಆದರು.
32 Who, indeed, having acknowledged the righteous sentence of God, —that, they who such things as these do practise, are worthy of death, not only, the same things, are doing, but are even delighting together with them who are practising [them].
೩೨ಇಂಥವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವವರು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಂಬ ದೇವವಿಧಿಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ತಾವೇ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾಡುವವರನ್ನೂ ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತಾ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
