Psalms 99

1 Yahweh, hath become king, Let the peoples, tremble, He is enthroned on the cherubim, Let the earth, shake.

Jahwe ward König - erzittern müssen die Völker! der über den Keruben thront - es wanke die Erde!

2 Yahweh, in Zion, is great, And, high, is he over all the peoples.

Jahwe ist groß in Zion und erhaben ist er über alle Völker.

3 Let them thank his Name—great and reverend, Holy, is he!

Sie sollen deinen großen und furchtbaren Namen preisen: heilig ist er!

4 Yea, with the strength of a king—justice, he loveth, —Thou, hast established equity, Justice and righteousness in Jacob, thou, hast wrought.

Du bist König und liebst Recht. Du hast aufgerichtet, was recht ist; Recht und Gerechtigkeit hast du an Jakob geübt.

5 Exalt Yahweh our God, And bow down at his footstool, Holy, is he!

Erhebt Jahwe, unsern Gott, und werft euch nieder vor dem Schemel seiner Füße: heilig ist er!

6 Moses and Aaron, [were] among his priests, And, Samuel, [was] among them who were calling upon his Name, Who were calling upon Yahweh, and, he, used to answer them:

Mose und Aaron waren unter seinen Priestern, und Samuel unter denen, die seinen Namen anriefen; sie riefen zu Jahwe und er erhörte sie.

7 In the pillar of cloud, used he to speak unto them, They kept his testimonies, and the statute he gave them.

In der Wolkensäule redete er zu ihnen; sie hatten seine Zeugnisse bewahrt und die Mahnung, die er ihnen gegeben.

8 O Yahweh our God! thou, answeredst them, —A pardoning GOD, thou becamest to them, Yet one bringing vengeance on their deeds.

Jahwe, unser Gott, du hast sie erhört. Du warst ihnen ein verzeihender Gott und ein Rächer ihrer schlimmen Thaten.

9 Exalt Yahweh our God, And bow down towards his holy mountain, For, holy, is Yahweh our God.

Erhebt Jahwe, unsern Gott, und werft euch nieder vor seinem heiligen Berge. Denn heilig ist Jahwe, unser Gott!
