Psalms 6

1 To the Chief Musician, with stringed Instruments upon the eighth. A Melody of David. O Yahweh! do not, in thine anger, correct me, nor, in thy wrath, chastise me.

Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] en Néguinoth, sur Séminith. Eternel! ne me reprends point en ta colère, et ne me châtie point en ta fureur.

2 Show me favour, O Yahweh, for languishing am I: Heal me, O Yahweh, —for dismayed are my bones:

Eternel, aie pitié de moi, car je suis sans aucune force; guéris-moi, ô Eternel! car mes os sont épouvantés.

3 Yea, my soul, is dismayed greatly, Thou, then, O Yahweh—how long?

Même mon âme est fort troublée; et toi, ô Eternel! jusques à quand?

4 Return, O Yahweh, deliver my soul, Save me, for the sake of thy lovingkindness;

Eternel! retourne-toi, garantis mon âme, délivre-moi pour l'amour de ta gratuité.

5 For, in death, is no remembrance of thee, —In hades, who shall give thanks unto thee? (Sheol h7585)

Car il n'est point fait mention de toi en la mort; [et] qui est-ce qui te célébrera dans le sépulcre? (Sheol h7585)

6 I am weary with my sighing, I flood, through the whole night, my couch, —With my tears, I cause, my bed, to dissolve:

Je me suis épuisé à force de soupirer; je baigne mon lit toutes les nuits, je le trempe de mes larmes.

7 My face, is all sunken with sorrow, —it hath aged, because of all mine adversaries.

Mon regard est tout défait de chagrin, il est envieilli à cause de tous ceux qui me pressent.

8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity, for Yahweh hath heard the voice of my weeping:

Retirez-vous loin de moi, vous tous ouvriers d'iniquité, car l'Eternel a entendu la voix de mes pleurs.

9 Yahweh, hath heard my supplication, Yahweh, will receive, my prayer.

L'Eternel a entendu ma supplication, l'Eternel a reçu ma requête.

10 Let all my foes, turn pale and be greatly dismayed, Again let them turn pale in a moment.

Tous mes ennemis seront honteux et épouvantés; ils s'en retourneront, ils seront confus en un moment.
