Psalms 146

1 Praise ye Yah, Praise, O my soul, Yahweh.

Lobet Jah! / Lobe Jahwe, o meine Seele!

2 I will praise Yahweh while I live! I will make melody to my God while I continue!

Loben will ich Jahwe, solang ich lebe, / Meinem Gott will ich spielen, solange ich bin.

3 Do not ye trust in nobles, in a son of man who hath no deliverance:

Vertraut nicht auf Fürsten, / Nicht auf Menschen, da sie nicht helfen können!

4 His spirit, goeth forth, he returneth to his ground, In that very day, his thoughts perish.

Fährt ihr Odem aus, so kehren sie wieder zum Staube zurück. / Dann hat es ein Ende mit ihren Plänen.

5 How happy is he that hath the GOD of Jacob as his help, whose hope, is on Yahweh his God: —

Heil dem, der Jakobs Gott zum Helfer hat, / Der auf Jahwe hofft als seinen Gott!

6 Who made The heavens and the earth, The sea and all that is therein, Who keepeth faithfulness to times age-abiding:

Er hat ja Himmel und Erde geschaffen, / Das Meer und alles, was weit und breit, / Er hält Treue in Ewigkeit.

7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed, who giveth food to the famishing, Yahweh, who liberateth prisoners;

Er schafft den Bedrückten Recht; / Er, Jahwe, gibt den Hungernden Brot, / Befreit die Gefangnen aus ihrer Not.

8 Yahweh, who opened [the eyes of] the blind, Yahweh, who raiseth the prostrate, Yahweh, who loveth the righteous;

Jahwe öffnet die Augen der Blinden, / Gebeugte läßt Jahwe Erquickung finden, / Jahwe hat die Gerechten lieb.

9 Yahweh, who preserveth sojourners, The fatherless and widows, he relieveth, —but, the way of the lawless, he overturneth.

Jahwe gibt den Fremdlingen Schutz, / Witwen und Waisen hilft er auf, / Aber er hemmt der Frevler Lauf.

10 Yahweh, will reign, to times age-abiding, Thy God, O Zion, to generation after generation. Praise ye Yah!

Herrschen wird Jahwe in Ewigkeit, / Dein Gott, o Zion, in allen Geschlechtern. / Lobet Jah!
