Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my sayings, and, my commandments, treasure by thee;
౧కుమారా, నా మాటలు నీ మనసులో ఉంచుకో. నా ఆజ్ఞలు నీ దగ్గర పదిలంగా దాచుకో.
2 Keep my commandments and live, and mine instruction, as the pupil of thine eye;
౨నా ఆజ్ఞలను నీ మనసులో ఉంచుకుని నీ కంటిపాపలాగా నా ఉపదేశాన్ని కాపాడుకుంటే నీకు జీవం కలుగుతుంది.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them, on the tablet of thy heart;
౩నీ చేతి వేళ్లకు వాటిని కట్టుకో. నీ హృదయమనే పలక మీద వాటిని రాసి ఉంచుకో.
4 Say unto wisdom, My sister, thou! and, an acquaintance, call thou, understanding:
౪జ్ఞానంతో “నీవు నా సోదరివి” అని చెప్పు. వివేకాన్ని నీ బంధువుగా భావించు.
5 That thou mayest be kept, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who, with her speeches, doth flatter.
౫అలా చేస్తే నువ్వు వ్యభిచారి దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళకుండా, సరసాలాడే స్త్రీ వలలో పడకుండా నిన్ను నీవు కాపాడుకుంటావు.
6 For, in the window of my house, through my lattice, I looked out;
౬నా యింటి కిటికీలో నుండి, కిటికీ పరదా నుండి నేను చూశాను.
7 And saw among the simple ones, discerned among the youths, A young man lacking sense;
౭జ్ఞానం లేని యువకుల మధ్య ఒక తెలివి తక్కువ యువకుడు నాకు కనబడ్డాడు.
8 Passing through the street, near her corner, and, on the way to her house, he sauntered along;
౮సాయంత్ర సమయం ముగిసి చిమ్మచీకటి కమ్ముతున్న రాత్రివేళ అతడు వ్యభిచారి ఉండే వీధిలో ప్రవేశించాడు.
9 In the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the midst of the night, and the gloom;
౯ఆ వీధిలో తిరుగుతూ అది ఉండే యింటి దారి పట్టాడు.
10 And lo! a woman, came to meet him, attired as one unchaste, of a wily heart.
౧౦అప్పుడు వేశ్య వేషం ధరించిన ఒక కుటిల బుద్ధిగల స్త్రీ అతనికి ఎదురు వచ్చింది.
11 Boisterous, is she, and rebellious, In her house, abide not her feet;
౧౧ఆమె తిరుగుబోతు. అదుపు లేకుండా తిరుగుతూ ఉండేది. ఆమె కాళ్ళు ఇంట్లో నిలవవు.
12 Now outside, now in the broadways, and, near every corner, she lieth in wait:
౧౨ఆమె ఒక్కోసారి తన ఇంటి ఎదుట, ఒక్కోసారి పట్టణ వీధుల్లో ఉంటుంది. ప్రతి సందులోనూ ఆమె కాపు కాసి ఉంటుంది.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and, embolding her face, she said to him:
౧౩ఆమె ఆ యువకుణ్ణి పట్టుకుని ముద్దు పెట్టుకుంది. సిగ్గు, బిడియం లేని ముఖంతో అతనితో ఇలా చెప్పింది,
14 Peace-offerings, are by me, to-day, have I paid my vows;
౧౪“నేను శాంతి బలులు చెల్లించవలసి ఉంది. ఇప్పుడే నా మొక్కుబడులు చెల్లించాను.
15 For this cause, came I forth to meet thee, to seek diligently thy face, and I have found thee:
౧౫నిన్ను కలుసుకోవాలని, నీకు ఎదురు రావాలని బయలుదేరాను. నువ్వే నాకు కనబడ్డావు.
16 Coverlets, have I spread on my couch of pleasure, dark-hued stuffs, of the yarn of Egypt;
౧౬నా మంచంపై రత్న కంబళ్ళు పరిచాను. ఐగుప్తు నుండి తెప్పించిన నైపుణ్యంగా అల్లిన నార దుప్పట్లు వేశాను.
17 I have sprinkled my bed, with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon:
౧౭నా పరుపు మీద బోళం, అత్తరు, దాల్చిన చెక్క చల్లాను.
18 Come! let us take our fill of endearments, until morning, let us delight ourselves with caresses;
౧౮బయలు దేరు, ఇద్దరం మోహంతో కోరిక తీర్చుకుందాం. తెల్లవారే దాకా తనివితీరా తృప్తి పొందుదాం.
19 For the husband is not in his house, he hath gone on a journey afar;
౧౯నా భర్త ఇంట్లో లేడు. ప్రయాణం చేసి చాలా దూరం వెళ్ళాడు.
20 A bag of silver, hath he taken in his hand, On the day of the full moon, will he enter his house.
౨౦అతడు డబ్బు సంచి తనతో తీసుకు వెళ్ళాడు. పున్నమి రోజు వరకూ ఇంటికి తిరిగి రాడు.”
21 She turneth him aside, with her great persuasiveness, —with the flattery of her lips, she compelleth him:
౨౧ఆ విధంగా ఆమె తన మృదువైన మాటలు పదే పదే చెబుతూ, లాలిస్తూ అతణ్ణి లోబరచుకుంది. పొగడ్తలతో ముంచెత్తుతూ అతణ్ణి ఈడ్చుకు పోయింది.
22 Going after her instantly, as an ox, to the slaughter, he entereth, and, as in fetters, unto the correction of a fool.
౨౨వెంటనే అతడు ఆమె వెంట వెళ్ళాడు. పశువు వధకై వెళ్లినట్టు, పరాయివాళ్ళ చేతికి చిక్కి చెరసాల పాలైనట్టు అతడు వెళ్ళాడు.
23 Until an arrow cleaveth his liver, as a bird hasteth into a snare, and knoweth not, that, for his life, it is!
౨౩పక్షి తనకు ప్రాణాపాయం ఉన్నదని తెలియక ఉచ్చులో పడినట్టు, అతని గుండెను చీల్చే బాణం దూసుకుపోయేంత వరకూ అతడు ఆమె వెంటబడి వెళ్ళాడు.
24 Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend, to the sayings of my mouth;
౨౪నా కుమారులారా, నా మాటలు వినండి. నేను చెప్పేది జాగ్రత్తగా ఆలకించండి.
25 Let not thy heart, turn aside to her ways, Do not go astray, in her paths.
౨౫నీ మనస్సు వ్యభిచారి నడిచే మార్గాల వైపు మళ్ళనియ్యకు. దారి తప్పి ఆమె నడిచే దారిలోకి పోకు.
26 For, many, wounded, hath she caused to fall, —yea strong men, slain wholly by her:
౨౬ఆమె అనేకులను లోబరచుకుని గాయపరచింది. లెక్కలేనంతమంది ఆమె బారిన పడి నాశనమయ్యారు.
