Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my sayings, and, my commandments, treasure by thee;
എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിക്കുകയും എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ സംഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
2 Keep my commandments and live, and mine instruction, as the pupil of thine eye;
എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ പ്രമാണിക്കുക, എന്നാൽ നീ ജീവിക്കും; എന്റെ ഉപദേശങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കൃഷ്ണമണിപോലെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them, on the tablet of thy heart;
അവ നിന്റെ വിരലുകളിൽ ചേർത്തുബന്ധിക്കുക; നിന്റെ ഹൃദയഫലകത്തിൽ ആലേഖനംചെയ്യുക.
4 Say unto wisdom, My sister, thou! and, an acquaintance, call thou, understanding:
ജ്ഞാനത്തോട്, “നീ എന്റെ സഹോദരി” എന്നും, വിവേകത്തോട്, “നീ എന്റെ അടുത്ത ബന്ധു” എന്നും പറയുക.
5 That thou mayest be kept, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who, with her speeches, doth flatter.
അവ നിന്നെ വ്യഭിചാരിണിയായ സ്ത്രീയിൽനിന്നും ലൈംഗികധാർമികതയില്ലാത്തവളുടെ പ്രലോഭനഭാഷണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കും.
6 For, in the window of my house, through my lattice, I looked out;
എന്റെ വീടിന്റെ ജനാലയ്ക്കരികിൽ അഴികളിലൂടെ ഞാൻ പുറത്തേക്കുനോക്കി.
7 And saw among the simple ones, discerned among the youths, A young man lacking sense;
യുവാക്കളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു, ഒരു ലളിതമാനസനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടു, ഒരു ശുദ്ധഗതിക്കാരനായ യുവാവിനെത്തന്നെ.
8 Passing through the street, near her corner, and, on the way to her house, he sauntered along;
അയാൾ തെരുക്കോണിലുള്ള അവളുടെ വീടിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക്; അവളുടെ ഭവനംതന്നെ ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി നീങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു,
9 In the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the midst of the night, and the gloom;
അന്തിമയക്കത്തിൽ പ്രകാശം മങ്ങി, രാവ് ഇരുണ്ടുവരുന്ന നേരത്തുതന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു അത്.
10 And lo! a woman, came to meet him, attired as one unchaste, of a wily heart.
അപ്പോൾ കുടിലചിത്തയായ ഒരുവൾ വേശ്യാസമാനം വസ്ത്രംധരിച്ച്, അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുവന്നു.
11 Boisterous, is she, and rebellious, In her house, abide not her feet;
അവൾ ധിക്കാരിയും ധാർഷ്ട്യക്കാരിയുമാണ്, അവൾ ഒരിക്കലും വീട്ടിൽ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കാത്തവളുമാണ്;
12 Now outside, now in the broadways, and, near every corner, she lieth in wait:
അവൾ ഇതാ തെരുവോരങ്ങളിൽ, ഇതാ ചത്വരങ്ങളിൽ എല്ലാ കോണുകളിലും അവൾ പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and, embolding her face, she said to him:
അവൾ അവനെ കടന്നുപിടിച്ചു ചുംബിച്ചു ലജ്ജാരഹിതയായി അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു:
14 Peace-offerings, are by me, to-day, have I paid my vows;
“എനിക്കിന്നു വീട്ടിൽ സമാധാനയാഗത്തിന്റെ മാംസം ശേഷിപ്പുണ്ട്, ഇന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ നേർച്ചകൾ നിറവേറ്റിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു.
15 For this cause, came I forth to meet thee, to seek diligently thy face, and I have found thee:
അതിനാൽ നിന്നെ എതിരേൽക്കാൻ ഞാൻ പുറത്തേക്കിറങ്ങി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു, ഇതാ നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു!
16 Coverlets, have I spread on my couch of pleasure, dark-hued stuffs, of the yarn of Egypt;
ഞാൻ എന്റെ കിടക്ക വിരിച്ചൊരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ വർണശബളമായ ചണനൂൽകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ.
17 I have sprinkled my bed, with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon:
മീറ, ചന്ദനം, ലവംഗം എന്നിവകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ കിടക്ക ഞാൻ സുഗന്ധപൂർണമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 Come! let us take our fill of endearments, until morning, let us delight ourselves with caresses;
വരൂ, പ്രഭാതംവരെ നമുക്കു ലീലാവിലാസങ്ങളിൽ രമിക്കാം നമുക്കു പ്രേമരാഗങ്ങളിൽ അഭിരമിക്കാം!
19 For the husband is not in his house, he hath gone on a journey afar;
എന്റെ ഭർത്താവ് ഭവനത്തിലില്ല; അയാൾ ദൂരയാത്ര പോയിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
20 A bag of silver, hath he taken in his hand, On the day of the full moon, will he enter his house.
അയാൾ നിറഞ്ഞ പണസഞ്ചിയുമായാണ് പോയിരിക്കുന്നത്; മടക്കം ഇനി പൗർണമിനാളിലേയുള്ളൂ.”
21 She turneth him aside, with her great persuasiveness, —with the flattery of her lips, she compelleth him:
മോഹനവാഗ്ദാനങ്ങളുമായി അവൾ അവനെ വഴിപിഴപ്പിച്ചു; മധുരഭാഷണത്താൽ അവൾ അവനെ വശീകരിച്ചു.
22 Going after her instantly, as an ox, to the slaughter, he entereth, and, as in fetters, unto the correction of a fool.
ഉടൻതന്നെ അവൻ അവളെ പിൻതുടർന്നു അറവുശാലയിലേക്ക് ആനയിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന കാളയെപ്പോലെ, കുരുക്കിലേക്കു പായുന്ന മാനിനെപ്പോലെ,
23 Until an arrow cleaveth his liver, as a bird hasteth into a snare, and knoweth not, that, for his life, it is!
അവന്റെ കരളിൽ ശരം തറയ്ക്കുന്നതുവരെ, കെണിയിലേക്കു പക്ഷി പറന്നടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, സ്വന്തം ജീവനാണ് അപഹരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് എന്ന അറിവ് അവനു ലവലേശവുമില്ല.
24 Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend, to the sayings of my mouth;
അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ, എൻമൊഴി കേൾക്കുക; എന്റെ ഭാഷണത്തിന് ശ്രദ്ധ നൽകുക.
25 Let not thy heart, turn aside to her ways, Do not go astray, in her paths.
നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവളുടെ വഴികളിലേക്കു തിരിയരുത് അവളുടെ മാർഗത്തിലേക്കു വഴിതെറ്റിപ്പോകുകയുമരുത്.
26 For, many, wounded, hath she caused to fall, —yea strong men, slain wholly by her:
അവൾ നശിപ്പിച്ച ഇരകൾ ധാരാളമാണ്; അവൾമൂലം വധിക്കപ്പെട്ട ജനക്കൂട്ടം അസംഖ്യമാണ്.
