Numbers 4
1 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses and unto Aaron saying:
BWANA akanena na Musa na Haruni. Akasema,
2 Reckon up the sum of the sons of Kohath, out of the midst of the sons of Levi, —by their families by their ancestral house:
Fanya sensa ya uzao waume wa Kohathi kutoka kwa Walawi, kwa kufuata jamaa na na familia za koo.
3 from thirty years old, and upwards, even unto fifty years, —every one that can enter into the host, to do service in the tent of meeting.
Uwahesabu wanaume ambao wana umri wa miaka thelathini hadi miaka hamsini. Hawa wataungana na kundi linalotumika kutoa huduma kwenye hema ya kukutania.
4 This, shall be the labour of the sons of Kohath, in the tent of meeting, —the most holy things,
Uzao wa Kohathi watalinda vile vitu vitakatifu zaidi vilivyohifadhiwa kwa ajili yangu katika hema ya kukutania.
5 So then Aaron and his sons shall enter when the camp is to set forward, and take down the screening veil, —and enwrap therein the ark of the testimony;
Wakati kambi inapojiandaa kusonga mbele, Haruni na wanawe lazima waende hemani, kulishusha pazia linalotenganisha mahali patakatifu na kulifunika sanduku la ushuhuda kwa pazia hilo. Watalifunika hilo sanduku kwa ngozi za pomboo.
6 and put thereon a covering of badgers’ skin, and spread a complete wrapper of blue over above, —and put in the staves thereof.
Watatandika juu yake nguo za rangi ya samawi. Watachomeka hiyo miti ya kubebea.
7 And over the Presence-table, shall they spread a wrapper of blue and put thereon the dishes and the pans and the bowls and the libation cups, the perpetual bread also, thereupon, shall remain;
Watatandika nguo ya rangi ya samawi kwenye meza ya mikate ya wonyesho. Juu yake wataweka sahani, vijiko, mabakuli na vikombe vya kumiminia. Mikate itakuwepo daima mezani.
8 and they shall spread over them a wrapper of crimson, and cover the same with a covering of badgers’ skin, —and shall put in the staves thereof.
Wataifunika na nguo ya rangi nyekundu na ngozi za pomboo. na kuweka miti ya kubebea.
9 Then shall they take a wrapper of blue, and cover the light-giving lampstand, and the lamps thereof, and the snuffers thereof and the snuff-trays thereof, —and all the oil-vessels, thereof, wherewith they minister thereunto;
Watachukua nguo ya rangi ya samawi na kukifunika kinara, pamoja na taa zake, na koleo zake, na sahani zake na vikombe vyake vya kuwekea mafuta ya taa.
10 and shall put the same and all the vessels thereof, within a covering of, badgers’ skin, —and shall put it upon a frame.
Wataweka kinara na vifaa vyake vikiwa vimefunikwa na ngozi ya pomboo, na wataweka kwenye miti ya kukibebea.
11 And upon the altar of gold, shall they spread a wrapper of blue, and shall cover the same in a covering of badgers’ skin, —and shall put in the staves thereof,
Watafunika na nguo ya samawi katika madhabau ya dhahabu. Wataifunika na ngozi za pomboo, na kuweka ile miti ya kubebea.
12 And they shall take all the utensils of attendance wherewith they attend in the sanctuary, and put them within a wrapper of blue, and cover the same in a covering of badgers’ skin, —and put them on a frame.
Watavichukua vyombo vyote vya kazi takatifu na kuvizonga kwenye hiyo nguo ya rangi ya samawi. Watavifunika na ngozi za pomboo na kuviweka hivyo vyombo kwenye miti ya kubebea.
13 Then shall they remove the fat-ashes from the altar, —and spread over it a wrapper of purple;
Watayaondoa majivu kwenye madhabahu na kutandika nguo ya rangi ya zambarau juu yake.
14 and put thereupon all the utensils thereof wherewith they minister thereupon—the fire-pans, the flesh-hooks—and the shovels and the tossing-bowls, all the utensils of the altar, —and shall spread over it a covering of badgers’ skin and put in the staves thereof.
Watavieka kwenye miti ya kubebea vyombo vyote wanavyovitumia kwa kazi ya madhabahuni. Vyombo hivi ni vyetezo, majembe, mabakuli na vitu vingine vya madhabahuni. Wataifuniks madhabahu na ngozi za pomboo na kuweka ile miti ya kubebea.
15 So shall Aaron and his sons make an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the utensils of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set forward, then after that, shall the sons of Kohath enter to bear it, but they must not put forth a touch unto that which, is holy, else should they die, these, shall be the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.
Wakati Haruni na wanawe walipokuwa wamekamilisha kupafunika mahali patakatifu na vyombo vyote, na kambi itakapoanza kuendelea mbele, ndipo wana wa Kohathi watakapokuja kubeba vitu vya mahali patakatifu. Kama watagusa vyombo vitakatifu, lazima watakufa. Hii ni kazi ya wana wa uzao wa Kohathi, kubeba mapambo ya hema ya kukutania.
16 But the care of Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, [shall be] —the light-giving oil, and the fragrant incense, and the perpetual meal-offering, and the anointing oil, the care of all the habitation, and all that is therein, both as to the sanctuary, and as to the furniture thereof.
Eliazari mwana wa Haruni kuhani atalinda na kusimamia mafuta ya taa, ubani mzuri, sadaka za mara kwa mara na mafuta ya upako. Atasimamia ulinzi wa hema lote na vyote vilivyomo, mahali patakatifu na vyombo vyake.”
17 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
BWANA akanena na Musa na Haruni. Akasema,
18 Do not let the tribe of the families of the Kohathites be cut off out of the midst of the Levites.
Usiruhusu kabila la Wakohathi kuondolewa kati ya Walawi.
19 This, therefore, do ye for them, so shall they live and not die when they approach the most holy place, —Aaron and his sons shall enter and set them man by man over his labour, and unto his burden;
Walinde waishi ili wasije wakafa, kwa kufanya hivi. Wanapokuwa wanasogelea
20 but they shall not enter to see, for a moment, that which is holy, else should they die.
wasije wakaingia ndani ili kuona eneo takatifu hata kwa kitambo, vinginevyo watakufa. Bali Haruni na wanawe wanaweza kuingia, ndipo Haruni na Wanawe watakapowapangia Wakohathi kazi maalumu ya kufanya, kwa kila mmoj.”
21 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
BWANA akanena na Musa tena, Akasema, “Fanya sensa kwa wana Gerishoni pia, kwa kufuata familia za mababu zao, koo zao.
22 reckon up the sum of the sons of Gershon even of them also, —by their ancestral house by their families;
Uwahesabu wale wenye umri wa mika thelathini hadi miaka hamsini.
23 from thirty years old and upwards even to fifty years, shalt thou number them, —All that may enter to take rank in the host, to do laborious work in the tent of meeting.
Uwahesabu wote ili waje kuungana na wale wanaotumika katika hema ya kukutania.
24 This, shall be the labour of the families of the Gershonites, —in labouring and in bearing:
Hii ndiyo itakuwa kazi ya koo za Gerishoni, wanapotumikia na wanachobeba.
25 they shall bear the curtains of the habitation and the tent of meeting, the covering thereof and the covering of badgers’ skin which is over above it, —and the screen, at the entrance of the tent of meeting;
Watabeba pazia la masikani, hema la kukutania, na vifunikio vyake, vifuniko vya ngozi ya pomboo ambvyo viko juu yake, na pazia kwenye lango la hema ya kukutania.
26 and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the entrance of the gate of the court which is near the habitation and near the altar round about, and their cords, and all their articles of service, and all that is to be done to them when they shall do their labour,
Watabeba pazia la ua, pazia la kwenye mlango wa ua, ambao uko karibu na maskani karibu na madhabahu, kamba zake na vifaa vyote vya utumishi wake. Chochote kinachotakiwa kufanywa kutokana na vitu hivi, wao ndio watakaofanya.
27 At the bidding of Aaron and his sons, shall be all the labour of the sons of the Gershonites, to the extent of their every burden, and to the extent of all their labour, —so shall ye appoint unto them in charge their every burden.
Haruni na wanawe ndio watakaongoza utumishi wa uzao wa Wagerishoni, kwa vitu vyote vile vya kusafirisha, na katika utumishi wao wote. Lazima uwagawie majukumu yao yote.
28 This, shall be the labour of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting, —and, the charge of them, shall be in the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.
Huu ndio utumishi wa koo za uzao wa wana wa Wagerishoni katka hema ya kukutania. Ithamari mwana wa Haruni kuhani atawaongoza katika utumishi.
29 As for the sons of Merari, —by their families by their ancestral house, shall ye number them;
Utawahesabu uzao wa Merari kwa koo zao, na uwapange katika familia za mabau zao,
30 from thirty years old and upwards even to fifty years, shall ye number them, —all that enter into the host, to do laborious work in the tent of meeting,
kuanzia wenye umri wa miaka thelatini hadi miaka hamsini. Umuhesabu kila atakayeungana na kundi lenye utumishi katika hema ya kukutania.
31 And, this, shall be their charge of the burdens, to the extent of all their labour in the tent of meeting, the boards of the habitation, and the bars thereof and he pillars thereof and the sockets thereof:
Huu ndio wajibu na kazi yao katika utumishi wao kwenye hema ya kukutania. Watazilinda mbao za maskani, mataluma yake, nguzo na makalishio yake,
32 and the pillars of the court round about and their sockets and their pins and their cords, to the extent of all their articles, to the extent of all their labour, and by names, shall ye put under their care the articles of their charge of burdens.
pamoja na nguzo za ua zinazozunguka masikani, makalishio yake, vigingi na kamba zake, na vifaa vinginevya ujenzi. Waorodheshe kwa majina na majukumu yao.
33 This, shall be the labour of the families of the sons of Merari, to the extent of all their labour in the tent of meeting, —in the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron, the priest.
Huu ndio utumishi wa koo za uzao wa Merari, ambao wanatakiwa kufanya katika hema ya kukutania, chini ya uongozi wa Ithmari mwana wa Haruni kuhani.”
34 Then did Moses and Aaron, and the princes of the assembly, number the sons of the Kohathites, by their families, and by their ancestral house;
Musa na Haruni na viongozi wa watu waliwahesabu wana wa uzao wa Wakohathi kwa kufuata koo za familia za mababu zao.
35 from thirty years old and upwards, even unto fifty years old, all that might enter the host, to labour in the tent of meeting;
Waliwahesabu wale wenye umri wa miaka thelathini hadi miaka hamsini. Walimhesabu kila mmoja aliyepaswa kuungana na kundi linalotoa huduma ya utumishi kwenye hema ya kukutania.
36 and they who were numbered of them, by their families, were found to be two thousand, seven hundred and fifty.
Waliwahesabu wanaume 2, 750 kwa kufuata koo zao.
37 These, were they who were num-bered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might labour in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron did number, at the bidding of Yahweh by the mediation of Moses.
Musa na Haruni waliwahesabu wanaume wote kutoka koo na familia za Wakohathi ambao hutumika kwenye hema ya kukutania. Walifanya hivi kwa kumtii BWANA aliyewaagiza kupitia kwa Musa.
38 And they who were numbered of the sons of Gershon, —by their families, and by their ancestral house;
Uzao wa Gerishoni walihesabiwa kufuata koo na familia za mababu zao,
39 from thirty years old and upwards, even to fifty years old, all that might enter the host, to labour in the tent of meeting:
kuanzia umri wa miaka thelathini hadi miaka hamsini, kwa kila mmoja aliyetakiwa kuungana na watu wanaotoa huduma kwenye hema ya kukutania.
40 yea they who were numbered of them, by their families, by their ancestral house, —were found to be—two thousand, and six hundred, and thirty.
Wanaume wote waliohesabiwa kufuata koo na familia za mababu zao walikuwa 2, 630.
41 These, are they who were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, all who might labour in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron did number, at the bidding of Yahweh.
Musa na Haruni walizihesabu koo za uzao wa Gerishoni ambao watatumika kwenye hema ya kukutania. Walifanya hivi ili kutii ambacho BWANA aliwaamuru kufanya kuptia kwa Musa.
42 And they who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families by their ancestral house;
Uzao wa Merari walihesabiwa kwa koo kupitia familia za mababu zao,
43 from thirty years old and upwards, even unto fifty years old, —all that might enter the host to labour in the tent of meeting;
kuanzia wenye umri wa miaka thelathini hadi miaka hamsini, kila anayepaswa kuungana na watu wanaotumika kwenye hema ya kukutania.
44 yea they who were numbered of them, by their families, were found to be—three thousand and two hundred.
Wanaume wote waliohesabiwa kupitia koo za familia za mababu zao walikuwa 3. 200.
45 These, are they who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, —whom Moses and Aaron did number, at the bidding of Yahweh, by the mediation of Moses.
Musa na Haruni waliwahesabu wanaume hawa, uzao wa Merari. Kw kufanya hivi walitii amri ya BWANA aliyowaaagiza kufanya kupitia kwa Musa.
46 All they who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel did number, even the Levites, by their families and by their ancestral house;
Kwa hiyo Musa na Haruni na viongozi wa Israeli waliwahesabu Walawi wote kw kufuata koo na familia za mababu zao
47 from thirty years old and upwards, even unto fifty years old, all that might enter, to toil in the work of labouring and in the work of bearing burdens, in the tent of meeting,
kuanzia wenye umri wa miaka thelathini hadi miaka hamsini. walimhesabu kila aliyepaswa kufanya kazi kwenye masikani, na kila aliyepaswa kubeba na kulinda vitu vya kwenye hema ya kukutania.
48 yea, they who were numbered of them were found to be—eight thousand, and five hundred, and eighty.
Waliwahesabu wanaume 8, 580.
49 At the bidding of Yahweh, were they put in charge by the mediation of Moses, man by man, over his labour and over his burden, —yea, they who were put in charge by him, were they, whom Yahweh commanded Moses.
Kwa agizo la BWANA, Musa alimhesabu kila mwanamume na kutunza kumbukumbu ya kazi ambayo kila mmoja anaweza kufanya. Kwa hivyo, walitii kile ambacho BWANA alikuwa amewaagiza kufanya kupitia kwa Musa.
