Numbers 12

1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses, on account of the Cushite woman whom he had taken, —for, a Cushite woman, had he taken.

Και ελάλησεν η Μαριάμ και ο Ααρών εναντίον του Μωϋσέως ένεκα της Αιθιοπίσσης την οποίαν έλαβε· διότι γυναίκα Αιθιόπισσαν έλαβε·

2 And they said: Is it only and solely with Moses, that Yahweh hath spoken? With us also, hath he not spoken? And Yahweh heard it.

και είπαν, Μήπως προς τον Μωϋσήν μόνον ελάλησεν ο Κύριος; δεν ελάλησε και προς εμάς; Και ήκουσε τούτο ο Κύριος.

3 Now, the man Moses, was patient, exceedingly, —above all the sons of earth, who were on the face of the ground.

Και ο άνθρωπος ο Μωϋσής ήτο πραΰς σφόδρα υπέρ πάντας τους ανθρώπους τους επί της γης.

4 Then said Yahweh suddenly, unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. And they three went out.

Και είπε Κύριος παρευθύς προς τον Μωϋσήν και προς τον Ααρών και προς την Μαριάμ, Εξέλθετε σεις οι τρεις προς την σκηνήν του μαρτυρίου. Και εξήλθον οι τρεις.

5 Then Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, —and called Aaron and Miriam, and they both went forth.

Και κατέβη ο Κύριος εν στύλω νεφέλης και εστάθη εις την θύραν της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου, και εκάλεσε τον Ααρών και την Μαριάμ· και εξήλθον αμφότεροι.

6 Then said he Hear, I beseech you my words. When ye have your prophet, As Yahweh in a vision, will I make myself known, unto him; In a dream, will I speak with him.

Και είπεν, Ακούσατε τώρα τους λόγους μου· Εάν ήναι μεταξύ σας προφήτης, εγώ ο Κύριος δι' οπτασίας θέλω γνωρισθή εις αυτόν· καθ' ύπνον θέλω λαλήσει προς αυτόν·

7 Not so, my servant Moses, —In all my house, trusty, is he:

δεν είναι ούτως περί του θεράποντός μου Μωϋσέως· εν όλω τω οίκω μου ούτος είναι πιστός·

8 Mouth to mouth, do I speak with him And plainly—not in dark sayings, And the form of Yahweh, doth he discern, —Wherefore then, were ye not afraid to speak against my servant—against Moses?

στόμα προς στόμα θέλω λαλεί προς αυτόν και φανερώς και ουχί δι' αινιγμάτων, και το πρόσωπον του Κυρίου θέλει βλέπει· διά τι λοιπόν δεν εφοβήθητε να λαλήσητε εναντίον του θεράποντός μου Μωϋσέως;

9 And the anger of Yahweh kindled upon them and he departed.

Και εξήφθη η οργή του Κυρίου κατ' αυτών και ανεχώρησε.

10 And, when, the cloud, removed from off the tent, —lo! Miriam, leprous, like snow! And Aaron turned unto Miriam and lo! …leprous!

Και η νεφέλη απεμακρύνθη από της σκηνής, και ιδού, η Μαριάμ έγεινε λεπρά ως χιών· και είδεν ο Ααρών την Μαριάμ και ιδού, ήτο λεπρά.

11 Then said Aaron unto Moses, —Oh my lord, do not I beseech thee lay upon us sin, although we have made ourselves foolish, and although we have sinned.

Και είπεν ο Ααρών προς τον Μωϋσήν, Δέομαι, κύριέ μου, μη επιθέσης την αμαρτίαν εφ' ημάς, επειδή επράξαμεν ανοήτως και επειδή ημαρτήσαμεν·

12 Let her not, I beseech thee, remain like the still-born, —which when it is born of its mother, the half of its flesh is consumed.

ας μη ήναι αυτή ως έκτρωμα, του οποίου είναι φαγωμένον το ήμισυ της σαρκός, ότε εξέρχεται εκ της μήτρας της μητρός αυτού.

13 Then Moses made outcry unto Yahweh, saying, —O GOD, I beseech thee grant healing. I beseech thee unto her.

Και εβόησεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κύριον, λέγων, Δέομαι, Θεέ, ιάτρευσον αυτήν.

14 And Yahweh said unto Moses: If, her own father, had, but spat, in her face, would she not, have acknowledged the shame for seven days? Let her shut herself up for seven days, outside the camp, and afterwards, let her be received back.

Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Εάν ο πατήρ αυτής μόνον έπτυεν εις το πρόσωπον αυτής, δεν ήθελεν είσθαι κατησχυμμένη επτά ημέρας; ας αποχωρισθή επτά ημέρας από του στρατοπέδου, και μετά ταύτα ας επιστρέψη.

15 So Miriam shut herself up, outside the camp, for seven days, —and, the people, set not forward, until Miriam had been received back.

Και απεχωρίσθη η Μαριάμ από του στρατοπέδου επτά ημέρας· και ο λαός δεν εσηκώθη εωσού επέστρεψεν η Μαριάμ.

16 Then afterwards, did the people set forward from Hazeroth, and encamped in the desert of Paran.

Και μετά ταύτα εσηκώθη ο λαός από Ασηρώθ και εστρατοπέδευσαν εν τη ερήμω Φαράν.
