1 Now, upon the sealed writings, were, —Nehemiah the governor, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;

28 And, the rest of the people—the priests, the Levites, the doorkeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons and their daughters, —every one having knowledge and understanding,

O resto do povo, os sacerdotes, os levitas, os porteiros, os cantores, os servos do templo e todos aqueles que se haviam separado dos povos das terras à lei de Deus, suas esposas, seus filhos e suas filhas - todos aqueles que tinham conhecimento e compreensão -

29 were holding fast unto their distinguished brethren, and were entering into a curse and into an oath, to walk in the law of God, which was given through Moses the servant of God, —and to observe and do, all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, and his regulations, and his statutes;

uniram-se aos seus irmãos, seus nobres, e entraram em uma maldição e em um juramento, para caminhar na lei de Deus, que foi dada por Moisés, servo de Deus, e para observar e cumprir todos os mandamentos de Javé nosso Senhor, e suas ordenanças e seus estatutos;

30 and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, —and, their daughters, would we not take for our sons;

e que não daríamos nossas filhas aos povos da terra, nem tomaríamos suas filhas para nossos filhos;

31 and, if the peoples of the land should be bringing in wares, or any corn on the sabbath day, to sell, we would not buy of them on the sabbath, or on a holy day, —and that we would remit the seventh year, and the loan of every hand.

e que se os povos da terra trouxessem mercadorias ou qualquer grão no dia de sábado para vender, não compraríamos deles no sábado, nem num dia santo; e que renunciaríamos às colheitas do sétimo ano e à exação de toda dívida.

32 And we laid on ourselves charges, appointing for ourselves the third of a shekel, yearly, —for the service of the house of our God:

Também fizemos portarias para nós mesmos, para nos cobrarmos anualmente a terceira parte de um siclo pelo serviço da casa de nosso Deus:

33 for the bread to set in array, and the continual meal-offering, and for the continual ascending-sacrifice, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the appointed feasts, and for things hallowed, and for victims bearing sin, to put a propitiatory-covering over Israel, —and for all the work of the house of our God.

para o pão de exposição, para a oferta contínua de refeição, para o contínuo holocausto, para os sábados, para as luas novas, para as festas fixas, para as coisas sagradas, para as ofertas pelo pecado para fazer expiação por Israel, e para todo o trabalho da casa de nosso Deus.

34 Also, lots, did we cast, concerning the offering of wood among the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring it unto the house of our God, by our ancestral houses, at times arranged, year by year, —to burn upon the altar of Yahweh our God, as it is written in the law.

Nós, os sacerdotes, os levitas e o povo, lançamos sortes para a oferta da madeira, para trazê-la à casa de nosso Deus, de acordo com as casas de nossos pais, em horários determinados ano após ano, para queimar no altar de Javé nosso Deus, como está escrito na lei;

35 And that we would bring in the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruit of all fruit of all trees, year by year, —unto the house of Yahweh;

e para trazer as primícias de nossa terra e os primeiros frutos de todos os tipos de árvores, ano após ano, à casa de Javé;

36 also that, the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, —and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, we would bring in unto the house of our God, unto the priests who should be in attendance in the house of our God;

também o primogênito de nossos filhos e de nosso gado, como está escrito na lei, e o primogênito de nossos rebanhos e de nossos rebanhos, para levar à casa de nosso Deus, aos sacerdotes que ministram na casa de nosso Deus;

37 and, the first part of our meal and our heave-offerings and the fruit of all trees, new wine and oil, would we bring in unto the priests, into the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground unto the Levites, —the Levites themselves, taking the tithes in all our cities of agriculture.

e que devemos levar as primeiras frutas de nossa massa, nossas ofertas de ondas, os frutos de todos os tipos de árvores, o vinho novo e o óleo, aos sacerdotes, aos quartos da casa de nosso Deus; e os dízimos de nossa terra aos levitas; pois eles, os levitas, levam os dízimos em todas as nossas aldeias agrícolas.

38 And the priest the son of Aaron should be with the Levites, when the Levites should take the tithes, —and the Levites, should bring up the tithe of the tithe, unto the house of our God, into the chambers pertaining unto the treasure-house.

O sacerdote, o descendente de Aarão, estará com os levitas quando os levitas levarem o dízimo. Os levitas levarão o dízimo dos dízimos para a casa de nosso Deus, para os cômodos, para a casa do tesouro.

39 For, into the chambers, should the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi bring in the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine and the oil, since, there, are the utensils of the sanctuary, and the priests who are in attendance, and the doorkeepers, and the singers, —so would we not neglect the house of our God.

Para os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Levi trarão a oferta ondulante do grão, do vinho novo e do azeite para as salas onde se encontram os vasos do santuário, e os sacerdotes que ministram, com os porteiros e os cantores. Não abandonaremos a casa de nosso Deus.
