Nehemiah 10
1 Now, upon the sealed writings, were, —Nehemiah the governor, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;

2 Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah;
| שריה עזריה ירמיה׃ |
3 Pashhur, Amariah, Malchijah;
| פשחור אמריה מלכיה׃ |
4 Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch;
| חטוש שבניה מלוך׃ |
5 Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah;
| חרם מרמות עבדיה׃ |
6 Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch;
| דניאל גנתון ברוך׃ |
7 Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin;
| משלם אביה מימן׃ |
8 Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah, —these, were, the priests.
| מעזיה בלגי שמעיה אלה הכהנים׃ |
9 And, the Levites, —Jeshua, son of Azaniah, Binnui, of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel;
| והלוים וישוע בן אזניה בנוי מבני חנדד קדמיאל׃ |
10 and, their brethren, —Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan;
| ואחיהם שבניה הודיה קליטא פלאיה חנן׃ |
11 Mica, Rehob, Hashabiah;
| מיכא רחוב חשביה׃ |
12 Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah;
| זכור שרביה שבניה׃ |
13 Hodiah, Bani, Beninu.
| הודיה בני בנינו׃ |
14 The heads of the people, —Parosh, Pahath-moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani;
| ראשי העם פרעש פחת מואב עילם זתוא בני׃ |
15 Bunni, Azgad, Bebai;
| בני עזגד בבי׃ |
16 Adonijah, Bigvai, Adin;
| אדניה בגוי עדין׃ |
17 Ater, Hezekiah, Azzur;
| אטר חזקיה עזור׃ |
18 Hodiah, Hashum, Bezai;
| הודיה חשם בצי׃ |
19 Hariph, Anathoth, Nobai;
| חריף ענתות נובי׃ |
20 Magpiash, Meshullam, Hezir;
| מגפיעש משלם חזיר׃ |
21 Meshezabel, Zadok, Jaddua;
| משיזבאל צדוק ידוע׃ |
22 Pelatiah, Hanan, Anaiah;
| פלטיה חנן עניה׃ |
23 Hoshea, Hananiah, Hasshub;
| הושע חנניה חשוב׃ |
24 Hallohesh, Pilha, Shobek;
| הלוחש פלחא שובק׃ |
25 Rehum, Hashabnah, Maaseiah;
| רחום חשבנה מעשיה׃ |
26 and Ahiah, Hanan, Anan;
| ואחיה חנן ענן׃ |
27 Malluch, Harim, Baanah.
| מלוך חרם בענה׃ |
28 And, the rest of the people—the priests, the Levites, the doorkeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons and their daughters, —every one having knowledge and understanding,
| ושאר העם הכהנים הלוים השוערים המשררים הנתינים וכל הנבדל מעמי הארצות אל תורת האלהים נשיהם בניהם ובנתיהם כל יודע מבין׃ |
29 were holding fast unto their distinguished brethren, and were entering into a curse and into an oath, to walk in the law of God, which was given through Moses the servant of God, —and to observe and do, all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, and his regulations, and his statutes;
| מחזיקים על אחיהם אדיריהם ובאים באלה ובשבועה ללכת בתורת האלהים אשר נתנה ביד משה עבד האלהים ולשמור ולעשות את כל מצות יהוה אדנינו ומשפטיו וחקיו׃ |
30 and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, —and, their daughters, would we not take for our sons;
| ואשר לא נתן בנתינו לעמי הארץ ואת בנתיהם לא נקח לבנינו׃ |
31 and, if the peoples of the land should be bringing in wares, or any corn on the sabbath day, to sell, we would not buy of them on the sabbath, or on a holy day, —and that we would remit the seventh year, and the loan of every hand.
| ועמי הארץ המביאים את המקחות וכל שבר ביום השבת למכור לא נקח מהם בשבת וביום קדש ונטש את השנה השביעית ומשא כל יד׃ |
32 And we laid on ourselves charges, appointing for ourselves the third of a shekel, yearly, —for the service of the house of our God:
| והעמדנו עלינו מצות לתת עלינו שלשית השקל בשנה לעבדת בית אלהינו׃ |
33 for the bread to set in array, and the continual meal-offering, and for the continual ascending-sacrifice, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the appointed feasts, and for things hallowed, and for victims bearing sin, to put a propitiatory-covering over Israel, —and for all the work of the house of our God.
| ללחם המערכת ומנחת התמיד ולעולת התמיד השבתות החדשים למועדים ולקדשים ולחטאות לכפר על ישראל וכל מלאכת בית אלהינו׃ |
34 Also, lots, did we cast, concerning the offering of wood among the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring it unto the house of our God, by our ancestral houses, at times arranged, year by year, —to burn upon the altar of Yahweh our God, as it is written in the law.
| והגורלות הפלנו על קרבן העצים הכהנים הלוים והעם להביא לבית אלהינו לבית אבתינו לעתים מזמנים שנה בשנה לבער על מזבח יהוה אלהינו ככתוב בתורה׃ |
35 And that we would bring in the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruit of all fruit of all trees, year by year, —unto the house of Yahweh;
| ולהביא את בכורי אדמתנו ובכורי כל פרי כל עץ שנה בשנה לבית יהוה׃ |
36 also that, the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, —and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, we would bring in unto the house of our God, unto the priests who should be in attendance in the house of our God;
| ואת בכרות בנינו ובהמתינו ככתוב בתורה ואת בכורי בקרינו וצאנינו להביא לבית אלהינו לכהנים המשרתים בבית אלהינו׃ |
37 and, the first part of our meal and our heave-offerings and the fruit of all trees, new wine and oil, would we bring in unto the priests, into the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground unto the Levites, —the Levites themselves, taking the tithes in all our cities of agriculture.
| ואת ראשית עריסתינו ותרומתינו ופרי כל עץ תירוש ויצהר נביא לכהנים אל לשכות בית אלהינו ומעשר אדמתנו ללוים והם הלוים המעשרים בכל ערי עבדתנו׃ |
38 And the priest the son of Aaron should be with the Levites, when the Levites should take the tithes, —and the Levites, should bring up the tithe of the tithe, unto the house of our God, into the chambers pertaining unto the treasure-house.
| והיה הכהן בן אהרן עם הלוים בעשר הלוים והלוים יעלו את מעשר המעשר לבית אלהינו אל הלשכות לבית האוצר׃ |
39 For, into the chambers, should the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi bring in the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine and the oil, since, there, are the utensils of the sanctuary, and the priests who are in attendance, and the doorkeepers, and the singers, —so would we not neglect the house of our God.
| כי אל הלשכות יביאו בני ישראל ובני הלוי את תרומת הדגן התירוש והיצהר ושם כלי המקדש והכהנים המשרתים והשוערים והמשררים ולא נעזב את בית אלהינו׃ |
