< Matthew 23 >

1 Then, Jesus spake unto the multitudes and unto his disciples,
Mpawo Jesu wakambuula kubbunga lyabantu alimwi akuli basikwiiya bakwe.
2 saying—Upon Moses’ seat, have sat down, the Scribes and the Pharisees:
Wakati, “Balembi aba Falisi bakkala muchuno cha Mozesi.
3 All things, therefore, whatsoever they tell you, do and observe, —but, according to their works, do ye not, for they, say, and do not, perform.
Nkiinkako kufumbwa nchibamulayilila kuchita amuchite nzizyo akuzibeleka. Pesi mutakatobelezyi inchito zyabo pe, nkambo baambula zintu nzibatachiti pe.
4 But they bind together heavy burdens, and lay upon men’s shoulders, whereas, they, with their finger, are not willing to move them.
Iyii, balabamba mitolo miyumu kukwinyampula, alimwi balabikkala amakkuko aabantu. Pesi bo lwabo tabanyampuli pe kanwe kabo kuti banyampule.
5 But, all their works, they do, to be gazed at, by men, —for they make broad their amulets, and make large their fringes,
Balachita zyoonse nzibachita kuti babonwe abantu. Balalichitila zipati alimwi balakomezya myoombe yezibaki zyabo.
6 And dearly love the first couch in the chief meals, and the first seats in the synagogues,
Bayanda zyuuno zyabapati kumapobwe alimwi azyuuno ezyuuno zyabapati muzikombelo,
7 And the salutations in the market-places, and to be called by men, Rabbi.
alimwi bayanda injuzyo zilikabotu muzisambalilo, alimwi akwiitwa kuti 'Mwami'abantu.
8 But, ye, —do not be called Rabbi, —for, one, is your Teacher, and, all ye, are brethren;
Pesi inywebo tamwelede pe kwitwa kuti 'Mwami' nkambo mulijisi umwi alimwi nywebo moonse mulibabunyina.
9 And, father, be none of you called, upon the earth, for, one, is your Father, the Heavenly;
Alimwi mutayiti muntu anyika ansi aano kuti Taata, nkambo mulawe omwe Taata, alimwi ulikujulu.
10 Neither be called leaders, for, your leader, is one, the Christ;
Nikuba kuti ngamulategwa muyiisi, nkambo mulijisi muyisi umwi luzutu, Kkilisitu.
11 And, the greatest of you, shall be to you, a minister;
Pesi oyo mupati akati kenu uyoba mulanda wenu.
12 And, whoever shall exalt himself, shall be, abased, and, whoever shall abase himself, shall be, exalted,
Nikuba nabaani ulisumpula uyofwinsigwa, alimwi nikubaani ulifwinsya uyosumpulwa.
13 But alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye are locking up the kingdom of the heavens before men, —for, ye, are not entering, neither, them who are entering, suffer ye to enter.
Pesi maawe kuli ndinywe, nobalembi alimwi abaFalisi, nobasikuupawupa! mulajala abwami bwakujulu kubantu.
Nkambo tamunjili pe nywebo, alimwi tamukwe nimubazumizya aabo abayanda kunjila kuti banjile.
15 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: because ye compass sea and dry land, to make one convert—and, when it is done, ye make him a son of gehenna, twofold more than ye. (Geenna g1067)
Maawe kulindinywe, nobalembi alimwi nobaFalisi, basikuupawupa! nkaambo muulya zintu zili mumaanda abamukabafu kamukomba nkombyo ndamfu. Muyotambula mulandu mupati. Maawe kulindinywe, nobalembi alimwi nobaFalisi, basikuupawupa! Nkambo mulayinka akulwizi alimwi akunyika kuti mukasandule muntu umwi, alimwi na waba oyo umwi, ngamwamuchita tubili kuba mwana wegehena mbuli ndinywe. (Geenna g1067)
16 Alas for you, blind guides! that say—Whosoever shall swear by the Temple, it is, nothing, but, whosoever shall swear by the gold of the Temple, is bound:
“Maawe kuli ndinywe, nobeenzyi baboofu, inywe nimuti, “Ooyo ukonka antempele takwe pe. Pesi ooyo ukonka angolida zyantempeli, ulangidwe kuchizuminano chakwe.
17 Foolish and blind! for which is, greater, The gold, or the Temple that hath hallowed the gold?
Inywe noboofu bafubafuba! Niinzi chipati, ingolida nikuba ntempeli eyo ichita ngolida kuti isalale?
18 And, whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is, nothing, but, whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, is bound:
Alimwi, óyo ukonka kuchipayililo, takukwepe. Pesi ooyo ukonka echo chili achipayililo, ulaangidwe kuchizuminano chakwe.
19 Blind! for which is greater, The gift, or the altar that halloweth the gift?
Inywe nobantu boofu, Niinzi chipati, ichipo nikuba chipayililo eecho chichita kuti ichipo chisalale?
20 He therefore that hath sworn by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all that is upon it;
Eelyo, ooyo ukonka kuchipayililo ukonka nchiicho alimwi azyoonse ezyo zili alinchicho.
21 And, he that hath sworn by the Temple, sweareth by it, and by him who dwelleth therein;
Ooyo ukonka kuntempeli ukonka njiiyo alimwi ayooyo ukkala mukati.
22 And, he that hath sworn by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him who sitteth thereupon.
Alimwi ayooyo ukonka akujulu ukonka achuuno chabulemu bwa Leza alimwi ayooyo ukkala alinchiicho.
23 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye tithe the mint and the anise and the cummin, —and have dismissed the weightier matters of the law—the justice, the mercy, and the faith; whereas, these, it was binding, to do, and, those, not to, dismiss.
Maawe kulindinywe nobalembi alimwi anoba Falisi basikuupawupa! Nkambo mulapayizya chakumi chazisyu zyachinsyungwa abbonko akanyansya, pesi mwasiya akutachita zintu zipati ezyo zyaamba mulawu- bwendelezi bubotu alimwi aluzyalo mpawo alusyomo. Pesi eezi mwalelede kuti naka mwazichita alimwi akutasiya nikuba chimwi chanzizyo.
24 Blind guides! Straining out the gnat, but, the camel, swallowing.
Inywebo nobasikwenzya boofu, mulatingwa akawuka pesi mumena inkamela!
25 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, —while, within, they are full of plunder and intemperance.
Maawe kulindinywe, nobalembi alimwi aba Falisi, basikuupawupa! Nkaambo musanzya inkomeki kunze kwayo mpawo andyido, pesi muzili mukati zilizwide kutangala akutayendelezegwa kabotu.
26 Blind Pharisee! cleanse, first, the inside, of the cup [and of the dish], that, the outside thereof, may become, clean.
Inywe noba Falisi boofu! Musanzye muzili mukati nkomeki sansina amukati kandyido, kuchitila kuti kunze kusambe akulako.
27 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye make yourselves like sepulchres whitewashed, which, outside, indeed, appear, beautiful, but, within, are full, of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness, —
Maawe kulindinywe, nobalembi aba Falisi basikuupawupa! Nkaambo mulimbuli tubanda tulambidwe amilambo ituuba, eezyo zilangiika kubota anze, pesi mukati zizwide mafuwa abantu bakafwa alimwi azyoonse zyamudima.
28 Thus, ye also, outside, indeed, appear to men, righteous, but, within, are full, of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Munzila njiyeeyo, anywebo aanze kwanu muli mbuli bantu baluleme kubantu, pesi mukati mulizwide kuupawupa ameso alimwi abubi.
29 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
Maawe kulindinywe, nobalembi aba Falisi, basikuupawupa! Nkaambo mulayaka tubanda twabasinsiimi alimwi akubotezya tubanda twabaluleme.
30 and say—If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been their partners in the blood of the prophets:
Mwamba kuti, “Kwanoli twakaliko mumazuba abamataata, nikuli tetwakabape mulibaabo bakatila bulowa bwabasinsiimi.'
31 So that ye bear witness against yourselves, that ye are, sons, of them who murdered the prophets.
Nkinkaako mulalyaamba nobeeni kuti muli bana babaabo bakajaya basinsiimi.
32 And, ye, fill ye up the measure of your fathers!
Alimwi mwazuzikizya bulemu bwabamawuso.
33 Serpents! broods of vipers! how should ye flee from the judgment of gehenna? (Geenna g1067)
Inywe nobazooka, inywe nobana bachipile, muyokuchija biyeni kubetekwa kwagehena? (Geenna g1067)
34 For this cause, lo! I, send unto you, prophets and wise men and scribes, —some from among them, ye will slay and crucify, And some from among them ye will—scourge in your synagogues, and pursue from city to city:
Nkambo kako, amubone, ndamutumina basinsimi abalumi basongo alimwi abalembi. Bamwi babo muyobajaya akubagankamina, alimwi bamwi muyobakwipawula muzikombelo zyenu alimwi muyobatanda kuzwa kumunzi akumunzi.
35 That there may come upon you—all righteous blood poured out upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, unto the blood of Zachariah, son of Barachiah, whom ye murdered between the Temple and the altar.
Impindu njakuti andinywe kuyozwa bulowa boonse bwabataluleme oobo bwakatika enyika, kuzwa kubulowa bwa Abbelu mululami, domane kubulowa bwa Zakkaliya mwana wa Bbelekkiya, ooyo ngumwakajaya akati kantempeli achipayililo.
36 Verily, I say unto you—All these things, will have come, upon this generation.
Kasimpe ndamwambila, zintu eezi zyoonse ziyozida aabo bapona sunu
37 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! that slayeth the prophets, and stoneth them that have been sent unto her, —how often, would I have gathered thy children, like as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, —and ye would not!
“Jelusalema, Jelusalema, inywe nimujaya basinsiimi alimwi akudonkola aabo batumwa kuli nduuwe! Ndakaliswini kuyanda kubunganya bana bako antoomwe, mbuli inkuku mbifukatila twana twayo munsi lyamababa ayo, pesi tewakazumina pe!
38 Lo! your house is left to you;
Amubone, ngánda yenu yachaala kulindinywe yaba mbulitongo.
39 For I say unto you—in no wise, may ye see me, henceforth, until ye say, Blessed, is he that cometh, in the name of the Lord!
Alimwi ndamwambila, tamuchizondiboni pe kuzwa lino dokusikila mukaambe kuti, uulachoolwe ooyo uuza muzina lya Mwami.”
