Matthew 16
1 And, the Pharisees and Sadducees coming near, putting him to the test, requested him, a sign out of the heaven, to shew unto them.
තදානීං ඵිරූශිනඃ සිදූකිනශ්චාගත්‍ය තං පරීක්‍ෂිතුං නභමීයං කිඤ්චන ලක්‍ෂ්ම දර්ශයිතුං තස්මෛ නිවේදයාමාසුඃ|
2 But, he, answering said unto them— When evening cometh ye say, Fair! for fiery is the heaven;
තතඃ ස උක්තවාන්, සන්ධ්‍යායාං නභසෝ රක්තත්වාද් යූයං වදථ, ශ්වෝ නිර්ම්මලං දිනං භවිෂ්‍යති;
3 And at morn, To-day, a storm! for fiery, and yet sad, is the heaven. The face of the heaven indeed, ye learn to distinguish, —but, the signs of the times, ye cannot.
ප්‍රාතඃකාලේ ච නභසෝ රක්තත්වාත් මලිනත්වාඤ්ච වදථ, ඣඤ්භ්ශද්‍ය භවිෂ්‍යති| හේ කපටිනෝ යදි යූයම් අන්තරීක්‍ෂස්‍ය ලක්‍ෂ්ම බෝද්ධුං ශක්නුථ, තර්හි කාලස්‍යෛතස්‍ය ලක්‍ෂ්ම කථං බෝද්ධුං න ශක්නුථ?
4 A wicked and adulterous generation, a sign, doth seek after, and, a sign, will not be given it, —save the sign of Jonah. And, leaving them behind, he departed.
ඒතත්කාලස්‍ය දුෂ්ටෝ ව්‍යභිචාරී ච වංශෝ ලක්‍ෂ්ම ගවේෂයති, කින්තු යූනසෝ භවිෂ්‍යද්වාදිනෝ ලක්‍ෂ්ම විනාන්‍යත් කිමපි ලක්‍ෂ්ම තාන් න දර්ශයිය්‍යතේ| තදානීං ස තාන් විහාය ප්‍රතස්ථේ|
5 And the disciples coming, to the other side, had forgotten to take loaves.
අනන්තරමන්‍යපාරගමනකාලේ තස්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාඃ පූපමානේතුං විස්මෘතවන්තඃ|
6 And, Jesus, said unto them—Mind! and beware, of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
යීශුස්තානවාදීත්, යූයං ඵිරූශිනාං සිදූකිනාඤ්ච කිණ්වං ප්‍රති සාවධානාඃ සතර්කාශ්ච භවත|
7 And, they, began to deliberate among themselves, saying—Because, loaves, we took not.
තේන තේ පරස්පරං විවිච්‍ය කථයිතුමාරේභිරේ, වයං පූපානානේතුං විස්මෘතවන්ත ඒතත්කාරණාද් ඉති කථයති|
8 And, observing it, Jesus said—Why are ye deliberating among yourselves, ye little-of-faith! because, loaves, ye have not?
කින්තු යීශුස්තද්විඥාය තානවෝචත්, හේ ස්තෝකවිශ්වාසිනෝ යූයං පූපානානයනමධි කුතඃ පරස්පරමේතද් විවිංක්‍ය?
9 Not yet, perceive ye, neither remember, —The five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye received?
යුෂ්මාභිඃ කිමද්‍යාපි න ඥායතේ? පඤ්චභිඃ පූපෛඃ පඤ්චසහස්‍රපුරුෂේෂු භෝජිතේෂු භක්‍ෂ්‍යෝච්ඡිෂ්ටපූර්ණාන් කති ඩලකාන් සමගෘහ්ලීතං;
10 Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many hampers ye received?
තථා සප්තභිඃ පූපෛශ්චතුඃසහස්‍රපුරුෂේෂු භේජිතේෂු කති ඩලකාන් සමගෘහ්ලීත, තත් කිං යුෂ්මාභිර්න ස්මර‍්‍ය්‍යතේ?
11 How is it ye perceive not, that, not concerning loaves, spake I unto you, —but beware of the leaven, of the Pharisees and Sadducees?
තස්මාත් ඵිරූශිනාං සිදූකිනාඤ්ච කිණ්වං ප්‍රති සාවධානාස්තිෂ්ඨත, කථාමිමාම් අහං පූපානධි නාකථයං, ඒතද් යූයං කුතෝ න බුධ්‍යධ්වේ?
12 Then, understood they that he did not bid them beware of [the] leaven [of loaves] but of, the teaching, of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
තදානීං පූපකිණ්වං ප්‍රති සාවධානාස්තිෂ්ඨතේති නෝක්ත්වා ඵිරූශිනාං සිදූකිනාඤ්ච උපදේශං ප්‍රති සාවධානාස්තිෂ්ඨතේති කථිතවාන්, ඉති තෛරබෝධි|
13 And, Jesus coming into the parts of Caesarea of Philip, began questioning his disciples, saying—Who are men saying that, the Son of Man, is?
අපරඤ්ච යීශුඃ කෛසරියා-ඵිලිපිප්‍රදේශමාගත්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාන් අපෘච්ඡත්, යෝ(අ)හං මනුජසුතඃ සෝ(අ)හං කඃ? ලෝකෛරහං කිමුච්‍යේ?
14 And, they, said—Some, indeed, John the Immerser, and, others, Elijah, —but, others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
තදානීං තේ කථිතවන්තඃ, කේචිද් වදන්ති ත්වං මජ්ජයිතා යෝහන්, කේචිද්වදන්ති, ත්වම් ඒලියඃ, කේචිච්ච වදන්ති, ත්වං යිරිමියෝ වා කශ්චිද් භවිෂ්‍යද්වාදීති|
15 He saith unto them—But who say, ye, that I am?
පශ්චාත් ස තාන් පප්‍රච්ඡ, යූයං මාං කං වදථ? තතඃ ශිමෝන් පිතර උවාච,
16 And, Simon Peter, answering, said—Thou, art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
ත්වමමරේශ්වරස්‍යාභිෂික්තපුත්‍රඃ|
17 And Jesus, answering, said to him—Happy, art thou, Simon Bar-yona, —because, flesh and blood, revealed it not unto thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.
තතෝ යීශුඃ කථිතවාන්, හේ යූනසඃ පුත්‍ර ශිමෝන් ත්වං ධන්‍යඃ; යතඃ කෝපි අනුජස්ත්වය්‍යේතජ්ඥානං නෝදපාදයත්, කින්තු මම ස්වර්ගස්‍යඃ පිතෝදපාදයත්|
18 And, I also, unto thee, say—Thou, art Peter, —and, upon this rock, will I build my assembly, and, the gates of hades, shall not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
අතෝ(අ)හං ත්වාං වදාමි, ත්වං පිතරඃ (ප්‍රස්තරඃ) අහඤ්ච තස්‍ය ප්‍රස්තරස්‍යෝපරි ස්වමණ්ඩලීං නිර්ම්මාස්‍යාමි, තේන නිරයෝ බලාත් තාං පරාජේතුං න ශක්‍ෂ්‍යති| (Hadēs g86)
19 I will give thee, the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, —and, whatsoever thou shalt bind upon the earth, shall be bound in the heavens, and, whatsoever thou shalt loose upon the earth, shall be loosed in the heavens.
අහං තුභ්‍යං ස්වර්ගීයරාජ්‍යස්‍ය කුඤ්ජිකාං දාස්‍යාමි, තේන යත් කිඤ්චන ත්වං පෘථිව්‍යාං භංත්ස්‍යසි තත්ස්වර්ගේ භංත්ස්‍යතේ, යච්ච කිඤ්චන මහ්‍යාං මෝක්‍ෂ්‍යසි තත් ස්වර්ගේ මෝක්‍ෂ්‍යතේ|
20 Then, straitly charged he the disciples, lest, to any man, they should say—He, is, the Christ.
පශ්චාත් ස ශිෂ්‍යානාදිශත්, අහමභිෂික්තෝ යීශුරිති කථාං කස්මෛචිදපි යූයං මා කථයත|
21 From that time, began Jesus Christ to be pointing out to his disciples that he must needs, into Jerusalem, go away, and, many things, suffer, from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, —and on, the third day, arise.
අන්‍යඤ්ච යිරූශාලම්නගරං ගත්වා ප්‍රාචීනලෝකේභ්‍යඃ ප්‍රධානයාජකේභ්‍ය උපාධ්‍යායේභ්‍යශ්ච බහුදුඃඛභෝගස්තෛ ර්හතත්වං තෘතීයදිනේ පුනරුත්ථානඤ්ච මමාවශ්‍යකම් ඒතාඃ කථා යීශුස්තත්කාලමාරභ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාන් ඥාපයිතුම් ආරබ්ධවාන්|
22 And, taking him aside, Peter began to rebuke him, saying—Mercy on thee Lord! In nowise, shall, this, befall thee.
තදානීං පිතරස්තස්‍ය කරං ඝෘත්වා තර්ජයිත්වා කථයිතුමාරබ්ධවාන්, හේ ප්‍රභෝ, තත් ත්වත්තෝ දූරං යාතු, ත්වාං ප්‍රති කදාපි න ඝටිෂ්‍යතේ|
23 But, he, turning, said to Peter—Withdraw behind me, Satan! A snare, art thou of mine, because thou art not regarding the things of God, but the things of men.
කින්තු ස වදනං පරාවර්ත්‍ය පිතරං ජගාද, හේ විඝ්නකාරින්, මත්සම්මුඛාද් දූරීභව, ත්වං මාං බාධසේ, ඊශ්වරීයකාර‍්‍ය්‍යාත් මානුෂීයකාර‍්‍ය්‍යං තුභ්‍යං රෝචතේ|
24 Then, Jesus said unto his disciples—If any one intendeth, after me, to come, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and be following me;
අනන්තරං යීශුඃ ස්වීයශිෂ්‍යාන් උක්තවාන් යඃ කශ්චිත් මම පශ්චාද්ගාමී භවිතුම් ඉච්ඡති, ස ස්වං දාම්‍යතු, තථා ස්වක්‍රුශං ගෘහ්ලන් මත්පශ්චාදායාතු|
25 For, whosoever intendeth, his life, to save, shall lose it, —but, whosoever shall lose his life, for my sake, shall find it.
යතෝ යඃ ප්‍රාණාන් රක්‍ෂිතුමිච්ඡති, ස තාන් හාරයිෂ්‍යති, කින්තු යෝ මදර්ථං නිජප්‍රාණාන් හාරයති, ස තාන් ප්‍රාප්ස්‍යති|
26 For what shall a man be profited, though, the whole world, he gain, and, his life, he forfeit? Or what shall a man give, in exchange for his life?
මානුෂෝ යදි සර්ව්වං ජගත් ලභතේ නිජප්‍රණාන් හාරයති, තර්හි තස්‍ය කෝ ලාභඃ? මනුජෝ නිජප්‍රාණානාං විනිමයේන වා කිං දාතුං ශක්නෝති?
27 For the Son of Man is destined to be coming, in the glory of his Father, with his messengers, —and, then, will he give back unto each one, according to his practice.
මනුජසුතඃ ස්වදූතෛඃ සාකං පිතුඃ ප්‍රභාවේණාගමිෂ්‍යති; තදා ප්‍රතිමනුජං ස්වස්වකර්ම්මානුසාරාත් ඵලං දාස්‍යති|
28 Verily, I say unto you—There are some of those, here standing, who, indeed, shall in nowise taste of death, until they see the Son of Man, coming in his kingdom.
අහං යුෂ්මාන් තථ්‍යං වච්මි, සරාජ්‍යං මනුජසුතම් ආගතං න පශ්‍යන්තෝ මෘත්‍යුං න ස්වාදිෂ්‍යන්ති, ඒතාදෘශාඃ කතිපයජනා අත්‍රාපි දණ්ඩායමානාඃ සන්ති|
