Matthew 10
1 And, calling near his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over impure spirits, —so as to be casting them out, and curing every disease and every infirmity.
Dann rief er seine zwölf Jünger zu sich her, gab ihnen Macht, unreine Geister auszutreiben und alle Krankheiten und jegliches Gebrechen zu heilen.
2 Now, the twelve apostles’ names, are these: —first Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, —and James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother;
Dies sind die Namen der zwölf Apostel: An erster Stelle Simon, der auch Petrus heißt, und Andreas, dessen Bruder; Jakobus, des Zebedäus' Sohn, und Johannes, dessen Bruder;
3 Philip, and Bartholomew, —Thomas, and Matthew, the tax-collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thadaeus;
Philippus und Bartholomäus; Thomas und Matthäus, der Zöllner; Jakobus, des Alphäus' Sohn, und Thaddäus;
4 Simon, the zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up.
Simon, der Eiferer, und Judas Iskariot, der ihn dann verriet.
5 These twelve, Jesus sent forth, charging them, saying: —Into any way to the nations, do not depart, —and, into any city of Samaritans, do not enter;
Diese Zwölf sandte Jesus mit der Warnung aus: "Gehet nicht den Weg, der zu den Heiden führt, betretet keine Samariterstadt,
6 But be going, rather, unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
geht vielmehr nur zu den verlorenen Schafen aus dem Hause Israel.
7 And, as ye go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of the heavens hath drawn near!
So geht denn hin und verkündet: 'Das Himmelreich ist nahe.'
8 Be curing, the sick, raising, the dead, —cleansing, lepers, casting out, demons: freely, ye have, received, freely, give.
Heilet Kranke, wecket Tote auf, Aussätzige machet rein, treibt Dämonen aus. Umsonst habt ihr es empfangen, gebt es umsonst auch wieder her.
9 Ye may procure—neither gold, nor silver, nor copper, for your belts, —
Verschafft euch weder Gold noch Silber, noch Geld für eure Gürtel;
10 neither satchel for journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staff; for, worthy, is the labourer, of his maintenance.
nehmt keinen Bettelsack mit auf den Weg, auch nicht zwei Röcke, keine Schuhe, keinen Stab. Denn der Arbeiter ist seines Unterhalts wert.
11 And, into whatsoever city or village ye enter, search out who in it is, worthy, and, there, abide, till ye go forth.
Betretet ihr dann eine Stadt oder ein Dorf, so fraget nach, wer dort würdig sei. Bleibt dort, bis ihr wieder weiterziehet.
12 And, as ye enter the house, salute it;
Betretet ihr das Haus, alsdann entbietet ihm den Gruß und saget: 'Der Friede sei mit diesem Hause'.
13 And, if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it, but, if it be not worthy, let your peace, unto you, return.
Ist das Haus es würdig, so komme euer Friede über dieses Haus. Ist es dessen aber unwert, alsdann wird euer Friede zu euch zurückkehren.
14 And, whosoever shall neither welcome you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth outside that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet:
Doch wo man euch nicht aufnimmt und eure Worte nicht hören mag, da verlasset jenes Haus oder jene Stadt und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen.
15 Verily, I say unto you, —More tolerable, will it be, for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for, that, city!
Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Dem Lande Sodoma und Gomorrha wird es am Tage des Gerichts erträglicher ergehen als jener Stadt.
16 Lo! I, send you forth as sheep amidst wolves; become ye therefore—prudent, as serpents, and simple, as doves.
Seht, ich sende euch wie Schafe mitten unter Wölfe. So seid denn klug wie die Schlangen und arglos wie die Tauben.
17 But beware of men; for they will deliver you up into high-councils, and, in their synagogues, will they scourge you, —
Doch vor den Menschen hütet euch. Sie werden euch den Gerichten übergeben und in ihren Synagogen geißeln.
18 And, before both governor and kings, shall ye be brought, for my sake—for a witness to them and the nations.
Auch vor Statthalter und Könige werdet ihr geschleppt um meinetwillen, ihnen und den Heiden zum Zeugnis
19 And, when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak, —for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak;
Wenn ihr dann ausgeliefert seid, so macht euch keine Sorge, wie und was ihr reden sollt. es wird euch in jener Stunde eingegeben werden, was ihr zu reden habt.
20 For it is not, ye, who are speaking, but, the Spirit of your Father, that is speaking in you.
Denn alsdann seid nicht ihr es, die da reden, vielmehr ist es der Geist eures Vaters, der aus euch redet.
21 And, brother, will deliver up, brother, unto death, and, father, child, —and, children, will rise up, against parents, and will put them to death.
Der Bruder wird den eigenen Bruder zum Tode überliefern, der Vater das Kind; Kinder werden gegen ihre Eltern auftreten und sie in den Tod bringen.
22 And ye will be hated by all, because of my name, —but, he that endureth throughout, the same, shall be saved.
Von allen werdet ihr um meines Namens willen gehaßt werden. Doch wer ausharrt bis ans Ende, wird gerettet werden.
23 And, when they persecute you in this city, flee into another, —for, verily, I say unto you, in nowise shall ye finish the cities of Israel, till, he Son of Man, come.
Wenn man euch in der einen Stadt verfolgt, so flieht in die andere. Wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr werdet mit den Städten Israels noch nicht zu Ende sein, bis der Menschensohn erscheint.
24 A, disciple, is not above, the teacher, nor, a servant, above, his lord:
Der Schüler steht nicht über seinem Meister, der Knecht nicht über seinem Herrn.
25 Sufficient for the disciple, that he become, as his teacher, and, the servant, as, his lord. If, the master of the house, Beelzebul, they called, how much more, the men of his house!
Der Schüler muß zufrieden sein, wenn es ihm ergeht wie seinem Meister, der Knecht, wenn es ihm ergeht wie seinem Herrn. Hat man den Hausherrn 'Beezebul' gescholten, um wieviel mehr dann seine Hausgenossen.
26 Then do not fear them, —for, nothing hath been covered, which shall not be, uncovered, and, hidden, which shall not be, made known.
Fürchtet sie also nicht. Denn es ist nichts geheim, was nicht offenkundig wird und nichts verborgen, was nicht bekannt wird.
27 What I am saying to you in the darkness, tell ye in the light, —and, what [whispered] into the ear ye are hearing, proclaim ye on the housetops.
Was ich euch im dunkeln sage, das kündigt im Tageslicht; was ihr nur leis ins Ohr vernommen, das verkündet von den Dächern.
28 And be not in fear, by reason of them that are killing the body, —and, the soul, are not able to kill. But fear, rather, him who is able, both soul and body, to destroy in gehenna! (Geenna g1067)
Fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib zwar töten, aber die Seele nicht töten können. Fürchtet vielmehr den, der Seele und Leib dem Verderben in der Hölle überliefern kann. (Geenna g1067)
29 Are not, two sparrows, for a farthing, sold? And, one from among them, shall not fall upon the ground, without your Father;
Kauft man nicht zwei Sperlinge um ein paar Pfennige? Und doch fällt nicht ein einziger von ihnen auf die Erde, ohne daß euer Vater es so wollte.
30 But, even the hairs of, your, head, have all been numbered.
Bei euch aber sind selbst die Haare eures Hauptes gezählt.
31 Then be not in fear—than many sparrows, better are, ye!
Fürchtet euch also nicht. Denn ihr seid weit mehr wert als viele Sperlinge.
32 Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, I also, will confess, him, before my Father who is in the heavens;
Wer immer vor den Menschen sich zu mir bekennt, zu dem will ich auch mich bekennen vor meinem Vater, der in den Himmeln ist.
33 But, whoever shall deny me before men, I also, will deny, him, before my Father who is in the heavens.
Wer aber mich vor den Menschen verleugnet, den will auch ich vor meinem Vater verleugnen, der in den Himmeln ist.
34 Do not think, that I came to thrust peace upon the earth, —I came not to thrust, peace, but, a sword;
Glaubt nicht, ich sei gekommen, Frieden in die Welt zu bringen. Nicht den Frieden wollte ich bringen, vielmehr das Schwert.
35 For I came to set at variance—a man, against, his father, and, a daughter, against, her mother, and, a bride, against, her mother-in-law;
Ich bin gekommen, den Sohn mit seinem Vater zu entzweien, die Tochter mit ihrer Mutter, die Schwiegertochter mit ihrer Schwiegermutter;
36 And, a man foes, are, they of his own house.
Feinde eines Menschen sind also seine eigenen Hausgenossen.
37 He that loveth father or mother above me, is not, worthy, of me, —and, he that loveth son or daughter above me, is not, worthy, of me;
Wer Vater oder Mutter mehr liebt als mich, der ist meiner nicht wert; wer den Sohn oder die Tochter mehr liebt als mich, der ist meiner nicht wert.
38 And, he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not, worthy, of me.
Und wer sein Kreuz nicht nimmt und mir nicht nachfolgt, der ist meiner nicht wert.
39 He that hath found his life, shall lose it, —and, he that hath lost his life, for my sake, shall find it.
Wer sein Leben findet, der wird es verlieren; doch wer sein Leben mir zulieb verliert, der wird es finden.
40 He that giveth welcome unto you, unto me, giveth welcome, and, he that, unto me, giveth welcome, giveth welcome—unto him that sent me forth.
Wer euch aufnimmt, nimmt mich auf, und wer mich aufnimmt, nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat
41 He that giveth welcome unto a prophet, in the name of a prophet, the reward of a prophet, shall receive; and, he that giveth welcome unto a righteous man, in the name of a righteous man, the reward of a righteous man, shall receive; —
Wer einen Propheten aufnimmt, weil er ein Prophet ist, wird den Lohn eines Propheten erhalten. Wer einen Frommen aufnimmt, weil er ein Frommer ist, wird den Lohn eines Frommen erhalten.
42 And, whosoever shall give to drink—unto one of these little ones—a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, Verily, I say unto you, in nowise, shall lose his reward!
Wer einem dieser Kleinen hier nur einen Becher frischen Wassers reicht, weil er mein Jünger ist, wahrlich, ich sage euch: er wird seines Lohnes nicht verlustig gehen."
