< Luke 22 >

1 And the feast of the unleavened bread, which is called a Passover, was drawing near.

2 And the High-priests and the Scribes were seeking, how they might get rid of him; for they feared the people.
Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, Yudatɔwo ƒe nunɔlagãwo kple agbalẽfialawo nɔ ŋugble dem vevie le mɔ si dzi woato awu Yesu, ale be ʋunyaʋunya madzɔ le dukɔa me o la ŋuti, elabena wonɔ vɔvɔ̃m na dukɔa me viwo.
3 But Satan entered into Judas, him called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve;
Azɔ Satana ge ɖe Yuda Iskariɔt, ame si nye nusrɔ̃la wuieveawo dometɔ ɖeka la me,
4 and, departing, he conversed with the High-priests and Captains, as to how, unto them, he might deliver him up.
ale wòyi nunɔlagãwo kple gbedoxɔmesrafowo ƒe amegãwo gbɔ be yeade aɖaŋu kple wo le mɔ nyuitɔ si dzi yeato ade Yesu asi na wo la ŋuti.
5 And they rejoiced, and bargained with him to give him, silver;
Edzɔ dzi na ameawo ŋutɔ be Yuda le klalo be yeakpe ɖe yewo ŋu, eya ta wodo ga home aɖe ŋugbe nɛ.
6 and he freely consented, and began seeking a good opportunity for delivering him up, in the absence of a multitude, unto them.

7 Now the day of the unleavened bread a came, —on which it was needful to be sacrificing the passover.
Azɔ Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui si dzi wowua ŋutitotolẽvi la le, eye woɖanɛ kple amɔ maʋamaʋã ƒe abolo la ɖo edzi.
8 And he sent forth Peter and John, saying—Go, and make ready, for us, the passover, that we may eat.
Yesu dɔ Petro kple Yohanes be woado ŋgɔ aɖawɔ dzadzraɖo na yewoƒe Ŋutitotoŋkekea ɖuɖu.
9 And, they, said unto him—Where wiliest thou, we should make ready?
Wobia be, “Afi ka nèdi be míayi aɖadzra ɖo?”
10 And, he, said unto them—Lo! when ye have entered into the city, there will meet you a man, bearing, an earthen-jar of water: follow him into the house into which he is entering.
Eɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ne miege ɖe Yerusalem dua me teti ko la, miakpɔ ŋutsu aɖe si lé tsize ɖe ta wòazɔ va yina. Mikplɔe ɖo, eye miage ɖe aƒe si me wòage ɖo la me,
11 And ye shall say unto the master of the house—The teacher saith unto thee, where is the lodging, where, the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?
eye miagblɔ na aƒea tɔ be, ‘Míaƒe Nufiala be míbia wò be: Afi ka dzeƒe le, afi si nye kple nye nusrɔ̃lawo míaɖu Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui la le?’
12 And, he, unto you, will shew, a large upper room, spread: there, make ready.
Aƒea tɔ akplɔ mi ayi dziƒoxɔa dzi, eye wòafia xɔ gã aɖe si me wodzra ɖo la mi. Teƒe lae nye ema. Miyi, eye miaɖo kplɔ̃ ɖe afi ma.”
13 And, departing, they found according as he had said unto them, and made ready the passover.
Woyi dua me, eye wokpɔ be nu sia nu si Yesu gblɔ na wo la va eme tututu, ale wowɔ Ŋutitotoŋkeke la ƒe nuɖuɖu ɖoɖo da ɖi.
14 And, when the hour arrived, he reclined, and the apostles with him.
Yesu kple nusrɔ̃la mamlɛawo va ɖo le ɣeyiɣi si woɖo ɖi la me, eye wo katã wonɔ kplɔ̃a ŋu hena nua ɖuɖu.
15 And he said unto them—I have greatly desired, to eat, this passover, with you before I suffer;
Yesu gblɔ na nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Menɔ mɔ kpɔm vevie be maɖu Ŋutitotoŋkekea ƒe nuɖuɖu sia kpli mi hafi nye fukpekpewo nadze egɔme.
16 For, I say unto you—In nowise shall I eat it, until it have been fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Elabena medi be mianya fifia be nyemagaɖui akpɔ o, va se ɖe esime woɖe nu si tututu wònye la ɖe go le mawufiaɖuƒea me.”
17 And, accepting a cup, giving thanks, he said—Take this, and divide among yourselves;
Azɔ etsɔ wainkplu ɖeka, eye esi wòda akpe ɖe eta vɔ la, egblɔ na wo be, “Mixɔe, eye ame sia ame nanoe.
18 For, I say unto you—In nowise shall I drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until, the kingdom of God, shall come.
Elabena mele egblɔm na mi be nyemagano waintsetse aɖeke me tsi akpɔ o, va se ɖe esime mawufiaɖuƒe la va.”
19 And, taking a loaf, he gave thanks, and brake, and gave unto them, saying—This is my body which in your behalf is being given: this, be ye doing, in remembrance, of me.
Emegbe etsɔ abolo, eye esi wòda akpe na Mawu le eta vɔ la, eŋe eme, eye wòtsɔe na nusrɔ̃lawo hegblɔ be, “Esia nye nye ŋutilã si metsɔ na ɖe mia ta. Miwɔ esia hena ŋkuɖoɖo dzinye.”
20 And—the cup, in like manner, after the taking of supper, saying—This cup, is the new covenant in my blood, which, in your behalf, is to be poured out.
Eye nenema ke wòtsɔ kplu la le fiẽnuɖuɖu la megbe hegblɔ be, “Kplu sia nye nubabla yeye le nye ʋu si wokɔ ɖe anyi le mia ta la me.
21 Nevertheless, lo! the hand of him who is delivering me up, is with me upon the table.

22 Because, the Son of Man, indeed, according to what is marked out, goeth his way; nevertheless, alas! for that man through whom he is being delivered up.
Ele be Amegbetɔ Vi la naku abe ale si Mawu ɖoe ene. Gake baba na ame si adee asi!”
23 And, they, began to be enquiring together, among themselves, as to which, then, it could be, from among them, who, this thing, was about to perpetrate!
Nusrɔ̃lawo tsa ŋku godoo le wo nɔewo dome hebia be ame kae le nu sia tɔgbi wɔ ge.
24 And it came to pass that there was, a rivalry also, among them, as to which of them seemed to be greater [than the rest].
Azɔ ʋiʋli ɖo nusrɔ̃lawo dome le ame si anye gãtɔ la ŋu.
25 And, he, said unto them—The kings of the nations, lord it over them, and, they who wield authority over them, benefactors, are called.
Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Xexe sia me fiawo ɖua aƒetɔ ɖe wo teviwo dzi, eye amegã bubuwo hã tea wo teviwo ɖe to, gake teviawo bua ame siawo katã amenuvelawoe.
26 But, ye, not so! On the contrary—the greater among you, Let him become as, the younger, and, he that governeth, as, he that ministereth,
Gake mele be wòanɔ nenema le mia dome o, ame si di be yeanye miaƒe amegã la, newɔ eɖokui subɔlae.
27 For which is greater—he that reclineth? or he that ministereth? Is not he that reclineth? But, I, am, in your midst, as he that ministereth,

28 Ye, however, are they who have remained throughout with me in my temptations;

29 And, I, covenant unto you—as my Father hath covenanted unto me—a kingdom,

30 That ye may eat and drink, at my table, in my kingdom, and sit upon thrones, judging, the twelve tribes of Israel.
Miaɖu nu, ano nu le kplɔ̃ ŋu kplim le fiaɖuƒe ma me. Hekpe ɖe esia ŋu la, mianɔ fiazikpuiwo dzi adrɔ̃ ʋɔnu Israel ƒe tokɔ wuieveawo.”
31 Simon! Simon! lo! Satan, hath claimed you, to sift as wheat;
Yesu gblɔ na Petro be, “Simɔn, Simɔn, Satana le mi katã dim be yeagbɔ mi abe ale si wogbɔa bli ene.
32 But, I, have entreated for thee, that thy faith may not fail. And, thou, once thou hast turned, strengthen thy brethren.
Gake medo gbe ɖa ɖe tawò be wò xɔse magabu keŋ o. Ale nenye be èdze si wò vodada, eye nègatrɔ va gbɔnye la, do ŋusẽ nɔviwò mamlɛawo hã, eye nàtu woƒe xɔse ɖe edzi.”
33 But, he, said unto him—Lord! with thee, am I, ready, both into prison and unto death, to be going.
Simɔn ɖo eŋu be, “Aƒetɔ, mele klalo be mayi gaxɔ me kpli wò, eye maku kpli wò gɔ̃ hã.”
34 And, he, said: I tell thee, Peter—A cock will not crow this day, until, thrice, thou deny that thou knowest me.
Gake Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Petro na magblɔ nya aɖe na wò. Va se ɖe etsɔ fɔŋli hafi koklo naku atɔ la, àgbe nu le gbɔnye zi etɔ̃ be yemenyam gɔ̃ hã o.”
35 And he said unto them—When I sent you forth, without purse or satchel or sandals, of anything, came ye short? And, they, said—Of nothing!
Azɔ Yesu bia nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Esi medɔ mi be miyi ɖagblɔ nyanyui la eye mietsɔ ga, mɔzɔkotoku alo awu eve ɖe asi o eye miedo afɔkpa hã o ɖe, nane hiã mia?” Woɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Naneke mehiã mí o.”
36 And he said unto them—But, now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, in like manner also, a satchel; and, he that hath nothing, let him sell his mantle, and buy a sword!
Eyi edzi be, “Azɔ la, mitsɔ mɔzɔkotoku nenye be ɖe le mia si. Mitsɔ ga hã ɖe asi, eye ne yi mele mia dometɔ aɖe si o la, nedzra eƒe awuwo wòatsɔ ga la aƒle ɖee.
37 For I say unto you—This that is written, must needs be completed in me, —And, with lawless ones, was he reckoned; for, even that which concerneth me, hath, completion.
Elabena ɣeyiɣi la ɖo bena nya si woŋlɔ ɖi tso ŋunye la nava eme be, ‘Wowui ɖe nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo dome.’ Le nyateƒe me la, nya siwo katã nyagblɔɖilawo gblɔ tso ŋunye la ava eme.”
38 And, they, said—Lord, lo! two swords, here! And, he, said unto them—’Tis, enough!
Woɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, yi eve le mía si le afi sia.” Yesu gblɔ be, “Esɔ gbɔ.”
39 And going out, he went, according to his custom, unto the Mount of Olives; and the disciples [also] followed him.
Azɔ abe ale si Yesu wɔnɛ ɖaa ene la, edo go le dua me yi ɖe Amito la dzi. Eye eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dze eyome.
40 And, coming up to the place, he said unto them—Be praying, lest ye enter into temptation.
Ke esi woɖo teƒea la, egblɔ na wo be, “Mido gbe ɖa be tetekpɔ nagaɖu mia dzi o.”
41 And, he, was torn from them about a stone’s throw; and, bending his knees, he began to pray,
Edzo le nusrɔ̃lawo gbɔ, zɔ vie ko, eye wòdze klo do gbe ɖa be,
42 saying—Father! if thou please, bear aside this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be accomplished.
“Fofo, nenye wò lɔlɔ̃nu la, na kplu sia nato nunye ayi, gake menye nye lɔlɔ̃nu o, ke boŋ tɔwò ko woawɔ.”
43 And there appeared unto him a messenger from heaven, strengthening him, —
Kasia mawudɔla aɖe tso dziƒo va do ŋusẽe,
44 and, coming to be in an agony, more intensely, was he praying; and his perspiration became, as if great drops of blood, falling upon the ground.

45 And, arising from prayer, he came unto his disciples, and found them falling asleep by reason of their grief;
Mlɔeba la, etso le gbedoɖaƒe, eye wòtrɔ yi eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo gbɔ, gake eva ke ɖe wo ŋu wonɔ alɔ̃ dɔm, elabena konyifafa na be woƒe lãme gbɔdzɔ.
46 and he said unto them—Why are ye slumbering? Arise! and be praying, lest ye enter into temptation.
Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Alɔ̃ dɔm mielea? Mifɔ kaba! Mido gbe ɖa be miaɖu tetekpɔwo dzi.”
47 While yet he was speaking, lo! a multitude; and, he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them on, —and he drew near unto Jesus, to kiss him.
Ke esi wònɔ nya siawo gblɔm la, ameha aɖe do ɖe wo dzi. Yuda, eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka nɔ ŋgɔ na wo. Yuda zɔ ɖe Yesu dzi, eye wògbugbɔ alɔgo nɛ abe lɔlɔ̃ ƒe dzesi ene.
48 But, Jesus, said to him—Judas! with a kiss, the Son of Man, dost thou deliver up?

49 And they who were about him, seeing what would be, said—Lord! shall we smite with the sword?
Esi nusrɔ̃la mamlɛawo kpɔ nu si be yeadzɔ la, wodo ɣli be, “Aƒetɔ, míwɔ avu kpli woa? Míetsɔ míaƒe yiawo ɖe asi!”
50 And a certain one from among them smote, the High-priest’s, servant, and took off his right ear.
Kasia, nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka tsɔ eƒe yi kpa ɖusimeto na nunɔlagã ƒe subɔvi si nɔ ameawo dome.
51 But Jesus, answering, said—Let be—as long as this! …And, touching the ear, he healed him.
Ke Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Migawɔ avu kpli wo o, miɖe asi le wo ŋu ko.” Ale wòka asi afi si subɔvia ƒe to la nɔ ŋu, eye toa gaɖo eteƒe abe tsã ene.
52 And Jesus said unto the High-priests, and Captains of the temple, and Elders, who had come against him—As against a robber, have ye come out, with swords and clubs?
Yesu trɔ ɖe nunɔlagãwo, hamemegãwo kple gbedoxɔmesrafowo ƒe amegã siwo nɔ ameha la ŋgɔ va la ŋu, eye wòbia wo be, “Adzodalae menye, eya ta mietsɔ kpowo kple yiwo va be yewoalém ɖo mahã?
53 Daily, was I with you, in the temple, and yet ye stretched not forth your hands against me! …But, this, is your hour, and the authority of darkness.
Nu ka ta mielém le gbedoxɔ la me o ɖo? Menɔa afi ma gbe sia gbe ɖe! Gake ɣeyiɣi siae nye ɣeyiɣi nyuitɔ na mi, ɣeyiɣi si me Satana ƒe ŋusẽ le dzi ɖum.”
54 And, having arrested him, they led him away, and took him into the house of the High-priest; and, Peter, was following afar.

55 And, they having kindled up a fire in the midst of the court, and taken seats together, Peter was for sitting among them.

56 But, a certain maid-servant, seeing him seating himself towards the light, and looking steadfastly at him, said—This one also, was, with him.

57 But, he, denied, saying—I know him not, woman!

58 And, after a little, another, beholding him, said—Thou also, art, from among them. But, Peter, said—Man! I am not.
Le aɖabaƒoƒo ʋɛ aɖewo megbe la, ame bubu hã kpɔe, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Wò hã, eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka tututue nènye!” Petro ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Gbeɖe, amegã menye wo dometɔ ɖekae menye o.”
59 And, about one hour having passed, a certain other, began stoutly to insist, saying—Of a truth, this one also, was with him; for indeed he is, a Galilaean.
Abe gaƒoƒo ɖeka megbe ene la, ame bubu hã va gblɔ kple kakaɖedzi be, “Menya be ame sia hã nye Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka, elabena eya hã nye Galileatɔ abe Yesu ene.”
60 But Peter said—Man! I know not what thou art saying! And, instantly while yet he was speaking, a cock crew.

61 And the Lord turned, and looked at Peter; and Peter was put in mind of the declaration of the Lord, how he had said to him—Before, a cock, crow this day, thou wilt deny me thrice!

62 [And, going forth outside, he wept bitterly.]

63 And, the men who held him bound, kept mocking him, with blows;

64 and, blindfolding him, questioned him, saying—Prophesy! which is he that smote thee?

65 and, many other things, with profane speech, were they saying unto him.

66 And, when it became day, the Eldership of the people was gathered together—both High-priests and Scribes, —and they led him away into their high-council, saying—If, thou, art the Christ, tell us!

67 But he said unto them—If I should tell, you, in nowise would ye believe,
Wogblɔ be, “Nenye wòe nye Kristo la, gblɔe na mí.” Yesu ɖo eŋu be, “Ne megblɔe na mi la, miaxɔ dzinye ase o,
68 And, if I should put questions, in nowise would ye answer;
eye ne mebia nya aɖe mi hã, miele eŋu ɖo ge nam o.
69 But, henceforth, shall the Son of Man be seated on the right hand of the power of God.
Gake ɣeyiɣi gbɔna esi woaɖo Nye Amegbetɔ Vi la fiazikpui dzi le Mawu ŋusẽkatãtɔ la ƒe nuɖusime.”
70 And they all said—Thou, then, art the Son of God? And, he, unto them said—Ye, say [it], —because, I, am.
Ameawo katã do ɣli sesĩe be, “Ekema ɖe nèle gbɔgblɔm be Mawu Vie yenyea?” Yesu ɖo eŋu be, “Miawoe le egblɔm be Nyee.”
71 And, they, said—What, further, need have we, of witness? We ourselves, have heard it from his mouth.
Ameawo gado ɣli sesĩe be, “Ɖe míegahiã ɖasefo bubuwo be woatso ame sia nua? Gbeɖe! Míawo ŋutɔ míesee tso eya ŋutɔ ƒe nu me!”
