< Luke 22 >

1 And the feast of the unleavened bread, which is called a Passover, was drawing near.
ⲁ̅ⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡϣⲁ ⲛⲁⲑⲁⲃ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ
2 And the High-priests and the Scribes were seeking, how they might get rid of him; for they feared the people.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲕⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ
3 But Satan entered into Judas, him called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve;
ⲅ̅ⲁⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲕⲁⲣⲓⲱⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲩⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲏⲡⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ
4 and, departing, he conversed with the High-priests and Captains, as to how, unto them, he might deliver him up.
ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϫⲱ ⲛⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲧⲣⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲥ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲁⲩ
5 And they rejoiced, and bargained with him to give him, silver;
ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲥⲙⲛⲧⲥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲉϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲙⲛⲧ
6 and he freely consented, and began seeking a good opportunity for delivering him up, in the absence of a multitude, unto them.
ⲋ̅ⲁϥⲉⲝⲟⲙⲟⲗⲟⲅⲓ ⲁϥϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁϫⲛ ⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ
7 Now the day of the unleavened bread a came, —on which it was needful to be sacrificing the passover.
ⲍ̅ⲁⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲑⲁⲃ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲏⲡ ⲉϣⲉⲧⲡ ⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
8 And he sent forth Peter and John, saying—Go, and make ready, for us, the passover, that we may eat.
ⲏ̅ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲃⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲟⲩⲟⲙϥ
9 And, they, said unto him—Where wiliest thou, we should make ready?
ⲑ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲧⲣⲉⲛⲥⲟⲃⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲧⲱⲛ
10 And, he, said unto them—Lo! when ye have entered into the city, there will meet you a man, bearing, an earthen-jar of water: follow him into the house into which he is entering.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲛⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲓⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩϣⲟϣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ ⲟⲩⲁϩ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲏⲓ ⲉⲧϥⲛⲁ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
11 And ye shall say unto the master of the house—The teacher saith unto thee, where is the lodging, where, the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲡⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁⲙⲁ ⲛϭⲟⲓⲗⲉ ⲧⲱⲛ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲙⲡⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ
12 And, he, unto you, will shew, a large upper room, spread: there, make ready.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲧⲥⲁⲃⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲡⲟⲣϣ ⲥⲃⲧⲱⲧϥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
13 And, departing, they found according as he had said unto them, and made ready the passover.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲃⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ
14 And, when the hour arrived, he reclined, and the apostles with him.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲛⲟϫϥ ⲛⲙⲡⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ
15 And he said unto them—I have greatly desired, to eat, this passover, with you before I suffer;
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⲁⲓⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓ ⲉⲩⲱⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ ϣⲛⲙ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲙⲡⲁϯⲙⲟⲩ
16 For, I say unto you—In nowise shall I eat it, until it have been fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ϯϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲟⲩⲟⲙϥ ϣⲁⲛⲧϥϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
17 And, accepting a cup, giving thanks, he said—Take this, and divide among yourselves;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲡⲟⲧ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϫⲓ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲟϣϥ ⲉϫⲱⲧⲛ
18 For, I say unto you—In nowise shall I drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until, the kingdom of God, shall come.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϯϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲥⲱ ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲅⲉⲛⲏⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲃⲱ ⲛⲉⲗⲟⲟⲗⲉ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲓ
19 And, taking a loaf, he gave thanks, and brake, and gave unto them, saying—This is my body which in your behalf is being given: this, be ye doing, in remembrance, of me.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓⲕ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲡⲟϣϥ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲁⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲣⲓ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲁⲣⲡⲙⲉⲩⲉ
20 And—the cup, in like manner, after the taking of supper, saying—This cup, is the new covenant in my blood, which, in your behalf, is to be poured out.
ⲕ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲧ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲧⲣⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲁⲡⲟⲧ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲃⲃⲣⲣⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲡⲁϩⲧϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ
21 Nevertheless, lo! the hand of him who is delivering me up, is with me upon the table.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲧϭⲓϫ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ϩⲓ ⲧⲉⲧⲣⲁⲡⲉⲍⲁ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ
22 Because, the Son of Man, indeed, according to what is marked out, goeth his way; nevertheless, alas! for that man through whom he is being delivered up.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ϫⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲛⲁϥ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ
23 And, they, began to be enquiring together, among themselves, as to which, then, it could be, from among them, who, this thing, was about to perpetrate!
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲛⲥⲩⲛⲍⲏⲧⲓ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲣ ⲡⲁⲓ
24 And it came to pass that there was, a rivalry also, among them, as to which of them seemed to be greater [than the rest].
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩϯⲧⲱⲛ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟϭ
25 And, he, said unto them—The kings of the nations, lord it over them, and, they who wield authority over them, benefactors, are called.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲟ ⲙⲡⲉⲩϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲟ ⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲣⲣⲉϥⲣⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ
26 But, ye, not so! On the contrary—the greater among you, Let him become as, the younger, and, he that governeth, as, he that ministereth,
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲛⲟϭ ⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲣ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧϩⲓϫⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ
27 For which is greater—he that reclineth? or he that ministereth? Is not he that reclineth? But, I, am, in your midst, as he that ministereth,
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲓⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟϭ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲏϫ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲏϫ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ
28 Ye, however, are they who have remained throughout with me in my temptations;
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ
29 And, I, covenant unto you—as my Father hath covenanted unto me—a kingdom,
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ϯⲥⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲥⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ
30 That ye may eat and drink, at my table, in my kingdom, and sit upon thrones, judging, the twelve tribes of Israel.
ⲗ̅ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲧⲁⲧⲣⲁⲡⲉⲍⲁ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲛⲉⲑⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲙⲫⲩⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ
31 Simon! Simon! lo! Satan, hath claimed you, to sift as wheat;
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲁϥⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲥⲉⲕⲧ ⲧⲏⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲟⲩⲟ
32 But, I, have entreated for thee, that thy faith may not fail. And, thou, once thou hast turned, strengthen thy brethren.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲓⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲉϫⲱⲕ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲕⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲱϫⲛ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱⲱⲕ ⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲛⲅⲧⲁϫⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲕⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ
33 But, he, said unto him—Lord! with thee, am I, ready, both into prison and unto death, to be going.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϯⲥⲃⲧⲱⲧ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲕ ⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ
34 And, he, said: I tell thee, Peter—A cock will not crow this day, until, thrice, thou deny that thou knowest me.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲗⲉⲕⲧⲱⲣ ⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲕⲁⲡⲁⲣⲛⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲛϣⲙⲛⲧ ⲥⲱⲱⲡ ϫⲉ ⲛϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ
35 And he said unto them—When I sent you forth, without purse or satchel or sandals, of anything, came ye short? And, they, said—Of nothing!
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲓϫⲉⲩ ⲧⲏⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲁϫⲛ ⲧⲱⲱⲙⲉ ϩⲓ ⲡⲏⲣⲁ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲱⲱⲧ ⲗⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉ
36 And he said unto them—But, now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, in like manner also, a satchel; and, he that hath nothing, let him sell his mantle, and buy a sword!
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧϥ ⲧⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥϥⲓ ϩⲟⲙⲟⲓⲱⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲡⲏⲣⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧ ⲉⲙⲙⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ϥϯ ⲧⲉϥϣⲧⲏⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϥⲧⲉⲩ ⲟⲩⲥⲏϥⲉ ⲛⲁϥ
37 For I say unto you—This that is written, must needs be completed in me, —And, with lawless ones, was he reckoned; for, even that which concerneth me, hath, completion.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ϯϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲡⲧ ⲛⲙⲛⲛⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲓⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲏⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
38 And, they, said—Lord, lo! two swords, here! And, he, said unto them—’Tis, enough!
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲥⲏϥⲉ ⲥⲛⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲣⲱϣⲉ
39 And going out, he went, according to his custom, unto the Mount of Olives; and the disciples [also] followed him.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲉⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛϫⲟⲓⲧ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ
40 And, coming up to the place, he said unto them—Be praying, lest ye enter into temptation.
ⲙ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲉⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ
41 And, he, was torn from them about a stone’s throw; and, bending his knees, he began to pray,
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛⲉ ⲁϥⲕⲗϫ ⲛⲉϥⲡⲁⲧ
42 saying—Father! if thou please, bear aside this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be accomplished.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲁⲡⲟⲧ ⲥⲁⲁⲧ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲱⲓ ⲁⲛ
43 And there appeared unto him a messenger from heaven, strengthening him, —
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅
44 and, coming to be in an agony, more intensely, was he praying; and his perspiration became, as if great drops of blood, falling upon the ground.
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅
45 And, arising from prayer, he came unto his disciples, and found them falling asleep by reason of their grief;
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁϥϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲗⲩⲡⲏ
46 and he said unto them—Why are ye slumbering? Arise! and be praying, lest ye enter into temptation.

47 While yet he was speaking, lo! a multitude; and, he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them on, —and he drew near unto Jesus, to kiss him.
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲓⲏⲥ ⲉϯⲡⲓ ⲉⲣⲱϥ
48 But, Jesus, said to him—Judas! with a kiss, the Son of Man, dost thou deliver up?
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓ ⲉⲕⲛⲁϯⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ
49 And they who were about him, seeing what would be, said—Lord! shall we smite with the sword?
ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲡⲉϥⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲁⲣⲛϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲧⲥⲏϥⲉ
50 And a certain one from among them smote, the High-priest’s, servant, and took off his right ear.
ⲛ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲣⲱϩⲧ ⲙⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲁϥϥⲓ ⲡⲉϥⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ
51 But Jesus, answering, said—Let be—as long as this! …And, touching the ear, he healed him.
ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϭⲱ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭ ⲟϥ
52 And Jesus said unto the High-priests, and Captains of the temple, and Elders, who had come against him—As against a robber, have ye come out, with swords and clubs?
ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲧⲣⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲥⲁⲟⲩⲱϫ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲥⲏϥⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϣⲉ
53 Daily, was I with you, in the temple, and yet ye stretched not forth your hands against me! …But, this, is your hour, and the authority of darkness.
ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ⲙⲙⲏⲛⲉ ⲉⲓϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϭⲓϫ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲡⲕⲁⲕⲉ
54 And, having arrested him, they led him away, and took him into the house of the High-priest; and, Peter, was following afar.
ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲛⲧϥ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲧϥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲏⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲏϩ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ
55 And, they having kindled up a fire in the midst of the court, and taken seats together, Peter was for sitting among them.
ⲛ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲩϫⲉⲣⲉⲩ ϣⲁϩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲗⲏ ⲁⲩϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϩⲙ ⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲙⲏⲧⲉ
56 But, a certain maid-servant, seeing him seating himself towards the light, and looking steadfastly at him, said—This one also, was, with him.
ⲛ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲩϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲧⲛ ⲡⲕⲱϩⲧ ⲁⲥⲓⲱⲣⲙ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲓⲕⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ
57 But, he, denied, saying—I know him not, woman!
ⲛ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲛⲁ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ
58 And, after a little, another, beholding him, said—Thou also, art, from among them. But, Peter, said—Man! I am not.
ⲛ̅ⲏ̅ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲕⲉⲩⲁ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ϩⲱⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲕ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ
59 And, about one hour having passed, a certain other, began stoutly to insist, saying—Of a truth, this one also, was with him; for indeed he is, a Galilaean.
ⲛ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲁⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲕⲉⲩⲁ ⲧⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲡⲉ ⲕⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲟⲩⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ
60 But Peter said—Man! I know not what thou art saying! And, instantly while yet he was speaking, a cock crew.
ⲝ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲕϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲁⲗⲉⲕⲧⲱⲣ ⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ
61 And the Lord turned, and looked at Peter; and Peter was put in mind of the declaration of the Lord, how he had said to him—Before, a cock, crow this day, thou wilt deny me thrice!
ⲝ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲕⲟⲧϥ ⲁϥϭⲱϣⲧ ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲣⲡⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲗⲉⲕⲧⲱⲣ ⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲕⲛⲁⲁⲡⲁⲣⲛⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲛϣⲙⲧ ⲥⲱⲱⲡ
62 [And, going forth outside, he wept bitterly.]
ⲝ̅ⲃ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲣⲓⲙⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲓϣⲉ
63 And, the men who held him bound, kept mocking him, with blows;
ⲝ̅ⲅ̅ⲣⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
64 and, blindfolding him, questioned him, saying—Prophesy! which is he that smote thee?
ⲝ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩϩⲃⲥ ⲡⲉϥϩⲟ ⲁⲩϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣⲁϩⲧⲕ
65 and, many other things, with profane speech, were they saying unto him.
ⲝ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲛⲕⲉⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲓⲟⲩⲁ
66 And, when it became day, the Eldership of the people was gathered together—both High-priests and Scribes, —and they led him away into their high-council, saying—If, thou, art the Christ, tell us!
ⲝ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉ ϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲧϥ ⲉⲡⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ
67 But he said unto them—If I should tell, you, in nowise would ye believe,
ⲝ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ
68 And, if I should put questions, in nowise would ye answer;
ⲝ̅ⲏ̅ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛϫⲛⲟⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲓ
69 But, henceforth, shall the Son of Man be seated on the right hand of the power of God.
ⲝ̅ⲑ̅ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲁⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲛⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
70 And they all said—Thou, then, art the Son of God? And, he, unto them said—Ye, say [it], —because, I, am.
ⲟ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ
71 And, they, said—What, further, need have we, of witness? We ourselves, have heard it from his mouth.
