Leviticus 17
1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying: —
परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो,
2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons and unto all the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, —This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, saying:
“हारून, त्यसका छोराहरू र इस्राएलका सारा मानिसहरूलाई परमप्रभुले आज्ञा गर्नुभएका कुराहरू भन्ः
3 What man soever, there be of the house of Israel, who slayeth an ox or lamb or goat, in the camp, —or who slayeth it outside the camp;
‘यदि इस्राएलको कुनै मानिसले बलिदानको निम्ति भनेर छाउनीभित्र वा बाहिर साँढे, भेडाको बच्चा वा बोका मार्दछ,
4 and, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, bringeth it not in, to present it as an oblation unto Yahweh, before the habitation of Yahweh, blood, shall be imputed to that man—blood, hath he shed, therefore shall that man be cut off from the midst of his people:
तर यदि त्यसले त्यो भेट हुने पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा परमप्रभुको पवित्र स्थानअगि बलिदानको रूपमा अर्पण गर्न ल्याउँदैन भने, त्यस रक्तपातको कारण त्यो दोषी हुने छ । त्यसले रगत बगाएको छ र त्यो मानिस आफ्ना मानिसहरूका बिचबाट बहिष्कृत होस् ।
5 to the end that the sons of Israel may bring in their sacrifices which they are offering upon the face of the field, that they may bring them in unto Yahweh—unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, —and that so as peace-offerings unto Yahweh, they may offer them.
इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले आफ्ना बलिदानहरूलाई बाहिर खुला ठाउँमा नभएर भेट हुने पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा परमप्रभुकहाँ ल्याऊन्, र परमप्रभुको निम्ति मेलबलिको रूपमा अर्पण गरिनको निम्ति तिनीहरूले त्यो पुजारीकहाँ ल्याऊन् भनेर यो आज्ञा दिइएको हो ।
6 Then shall the priest dash the blood against the altar of Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, —and shall make a perfume of the fat, as a satisfying odour unto Yahweh;
भेट हुने पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा पुजारीले परमप्रभुको वेदीमा रगत छर्कने छ, र परमप्रभुको निम्ति मिठो सुगन्ध दिनको निम्ति उसले बोसो जलाउने छ ।
7 so shall they no more offer their sacrifices unto demons after whom they are unchastely going away, —a statute age-abiding, shall this be to them unto their generations.
अबदेखि तिनीहरूले बाख्राका मूर्तिहरूलाई आफ्ना बलिदानहरू अर्पण नगरून्, जसका निम्ति तिनीहरू वेश्याहरूझैँ व्यवहार गर्दछन् । तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूको समस्त पुस्तामा यो सधैँको निम्ति विधि हुने छ ।’
8 Wherefore, unto them, shalt thou say: What man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, —who causeth to go up an ascending-offering, or a sacrifice;
तैँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नू, ‘इस्राएलको कुनै मानिस वा तिनीहरूका माझमा बसोबास गर्ने कोही परदेशी, जसले होमबलि वा कुनै बलिदान अर्पण गर्दछ,
9 and unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, doth not bring it in, to offer it unto Yahweh, then shall that man be cut off from among his kinsfolk.
र त्यसलाई परमप्रभुकहाँ अर्पण गरिनलाई भेट हुने पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा ल्याउँदैन भने, त्यो मानिस आफ्ना मानिसहरूबाट बहिष्कृत होस् ।
10 And, what man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, that partaketh of any manner of blood, then will I set my face against the person that partaketh of the blood, and will cut him off from the midst of his people.
यदि इस्राएलका घरानाको कुनै मानिस, वा तिनीहरूका माझमा बसोबास गर्ने कोही परदेशीले रगत खायो भने, म त्यो रगत खाने मानिसको विरुद्ध हुने छु र म त्यसलाई त्यसका मानिसहरूबाट बहिष्कृत गर्ने छु ।
11 For as for the life of the flesh, in the blood, it is, therefore have, I, given it unto you upon the altar, to put a propitiatory-covering over your lives, —for the blood, it is, which, by virtue of the life, maketh propitiation.
किनभने हरेक जीवधारीको प्राण त्यसको रगतमा हुन्छ । तिमीहरूले आफ्ना प्राणको निम्ति प्रायश्चित्त गर्नलाई मैले त्यसको रगत तिमीहरूलाई दिएको छु, किनभने रगतले नै जीवनको प्रायश्चित्त गर्दछ ।
12 For this cause, have I said unto the sons of Israel, Not a person from among you shall partake of blood, —Even the sojourner that sojourneth in your midst, shall not partake of blood.
त्यसैकारण इस्राएलका मानिसहरू वा तिनीहरूका माझमा बसोबास गर्ने कोही परदेशीले पनि रगत नखाऊन् भनेर मैले तिनीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेको हुँ ।
13 And, what man soever, there may be of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, who taketh by hunting any wild-beast or bird that may be eaten, then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust;
इस्राएलको कुनै मानिस, वा तिनीहरूका माझमा बसोबास गर्ने कोही परदेशीले कुनै खान मिल्ने पशु वा पक्षीको शिकार गरी त्यसलाई मार्दछ भने, त्यो मानिसले त्यसको रगत निथारेर माटोले ढाकिदिओस् ।
14 for, as for the life of all flesh, the blood thereof, for the life thereof, standeth, therefore have I said unto the sons of Israel—Of the blood of no manner of flesh, shall ye partake, For, the life of all flesh is the blood thereof; whoso partaketh thereof, shall be cut off.
किनभने हरेक जीवधारीको प्राण त्यसको रगतमा हुन्छ । त्यसैकारण मैले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूलाई भनेँ, “कुनै पनि प्राणीको रगत तिमीहरूले नखानू, किनभने हरेक प्राणीको जीवन त्यसको रगतमा हुन्छ । जसले त्यो खान्छ, त्यो बहिष्कृत होस् ।”
15 And, in the case of any person who eateth that which died of itself or was torn in pieces, whether he be home-born, or a sojourner, then shall he wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening, and then be clean.
कुनै मानिस जसले मरिसकेको वा जङ्गली जनावरले फहराएको पशु खान्छ, त्यो मानिस स्थानीय वा तिमीहरूका माझमा बसोबास गर्ने परदेशी जो भए तापनि, त्यसले आफ्ना लुगाहरू धोओस् र पानीले नुहाओस्, र त्यो साँझसम्म अशुद्ध हुने छ । त्यसपछि त्यो शुद्ध हुने छ ।
16 But, if he wash them not, and his flesh, he do not bathe, then shall he bear his iniquity.
तर यदि त्यसले आफ्ना लुगाहरू धुँदैन वा आफ्नो शरीर नुहाउँदैन भने, त्यसले आफ्नो दोष बोकिरहोस् ।’”
