Leviticus 17

1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying: —

Und Jahwe redete mit Mose also:

2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons and unto all the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, —This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, saying:

Rede mit Aaron und mit seinen Söhnen und allen Israeliten und sprich zu ihnen: Dies ist's, was Jahwe geboten hat:

3 What man soever, there be of the house of Israel, who slayeth an ox or lamb or goat, in the camp, —or who slayeth it outside the camp;

Jedermann aus dem Hause Israel, der ein Rind oder ein Lamm oder eine Ziege schlachtet im Lager oder der sie schlachtet außerhalb des Lagers

4 and, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, bringeth it not in, to present it as an oblation unto Yahweh, before the habitation of Yahweh, blood, shall be imputed to that man—blood, hath he shed, therefore shall that man be cut off from the midst of his people:

und sie nicht hinbringt zur Thüre des Offenbarungszeltes, um sie Jahwe als Opfergabe darzubringen vor der Wohnung Jahwes, einem solchen soll es als Blutschuld angerechnet werden: Blut hat er vergossen, und ein solcher soll hinweggetilgt werden mitten aus seinen Volksgenossen,

5 to the end that the sons of Israel may bring in their sacrifices which they are offering upon the face of the field, that they may bring them in unto Yahweh—unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, —and that so as peace-offerings unto Yahweh, they may offer them.

damit die Israeliten ihre SchIachtopfer, die sie auf freiem Felde zu opfern pflegen, herbringen, und zwar sollen sie sie für Jahwe an die Thüre des Offenbarungszeltes zum Priester bringen und sollen sie als Heilsopfer für Jahwe schlachten.

6 Then shall the priest dash the blood against the altar of Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, —and shall make a perfume of the fat, as a satisfying odour unto Yahweh;

Und der Priester soll das Blut an den Altar Jahwes sprengen vor der Thüre des Offenbarungszeltes und soll das Fett in Rauch aufgehen lassen zum lieblichen Geruch für Jahwe.

7 so shall they no more offer their sacrifices unto demons after whom they are unchastely going away, —a statute age-abiding, shall this be to them unto their generations.

Und sie sollen ihre Schlachtopfer hinfort nicht mehr den Bocksgestalten opfern, mit denen sie Abgötterei treiben. Solches soll ihnen als eine Satzung für alle Zeiten gelten, die zu beobachten ist von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.

8 Wherefore, unto them, shalt thou say: What man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, —who causeth to go up an ascending-offering, or a sacrifice;

Und du sollst zu ihnen sprechen: Jedermann vom Hause Israel und von den Fremden, die sich unter ihnen aufhalten, der ein Brandopfer oder SchIachtopfer bringt

9 and unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, doth not bring it in, to offer it unto Yahweh, then shall that man be cut off from among his kinsfolk.

und es nicht hinbringt an die Thüre des Offenbarungszeltes, um es für Jahwe herzurichten, ein solcher soll hinweggetilgt werden aus seinen Volksgenossen.

10 And, what man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, that partaketh of any manner of blood, then will I set my face against the person that partaketh of the blood, and will cut him off from the midst of his people.

Und jedermann vom Hause Israel und von den Fremden, die sich unter ihnen aufhalten, der irgend Blut genießt, - gegen einen solchen, der Blut genießt, will ich mein Antlitz richten und ihn hinwegtilgen mitten aus seinen Volksgenossen.

11 For as for the life of the flesh, in the blood, it is, therefore have, I, given it unto you upon the altar, to put a propitiatory-covering over your lives, —for the blood, it is, which, by virtue of the life, maketh propitiation.

Denn das Leben des Leibes ist im Blute, und ich habe es euch verliehen für den Altar, daß man euch Sühne damit schaffe; denn das Blut bewirkt Sühne mittels des in ihm enthaltenen Lebens.

12 For this cause, have I said unto the sons of Israel, Not a person from among you shall partake of blood, —Even the sojourner that sojourneth in your midst, shall not partake of blood.

Darum habe ich den Israeliten geboten: Niemand von euch darf Blut genießen! Auch der Fremde, der sich unter euch aufhält, darf kein Blut genießen.

13 And, what man soever, there may be of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, who taketh by hunting any wild-beast or bird that may be eaten, then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust;

Und jedermann von den Israeliten und von den Fremden, die sich unter ihnen aufhalten, der ein Stück Wild oder Geflügel erjagt; das gegessen werden darf, der soll sein Blut auslaufen lassen und dann mit Erde bedecken.

14 for, as for the life of all flesh, the blood thereof, for the life thereof, standeth, therefore have I said unto the sons of Israel—Of the blood of no manner of flesh, shall ye partake, For, the life of all flesh is the blood thereof; whoso partaketh thereof, shall be cut off.

Denn das Leben eines jeden Leibes besteht in seinem das Leben enthaltenden Blute. Daher gebot ich den Israeliten: Von keinem Leibe dürft ihr das Blut genießen: Denn das Leben eines jeden Leibes besteht in seinem Blute - jeder, der es genießt, soll hinweggetilgt werden!

15 And, in the case of any person who eateth that which died of itself or was torn in pieces, whether he be home-born, or a sojourner, then shall he wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening, and then be clean.

Und jeder, der Aas oder von wilden Tieren Zerrissenes genießt, es sei ein Landeseingeborner oder ein Fremder, der muß seine Kleider waschen und sich baden und bleibt unrein bis zum Abend; dann wird er rein.

16 But, if he wash them not, and his flesh, he do not bathe, then shall he bear his iniquity.

Wenn er sie aber nicht wäscht und seinen Leib nicht badet, so lädt er Verschuldung auf sich.
