Leviticus 10

1 Then Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, took each man his censer and placed therein fire, and put thereon incense, —and brought near before Yahweh strange fire, which he had not commanded them.

Y los hijos de Aarón, Nadab y Abiú, tomaron cada uno su incensario, y pusieron fuego en ellos, sobre el cual pusieron perfume, y ofrecieron delante del SEÑOR fuego extraño, que él nunca les mandó.

2 Then came there forth fire from before Yahweh, and consumed them, —and they died before Yahweh.

Y salió un fuego de delante del SEÑOR que los quemó, y murieron delante del SEÑOR.

3 Then said Moses unto Aaron—The very thing, that Yahweh spake, saying—In them that draw near to me, must I be hallowed, And before the faces of all the people, must I get myself honour, —And Aaron, was dumb.

Entonces dijo Moisés a Aarón: Esto es lo que habló el SEÑOR, diciendo: En mis allegados me santificaré, y en presencia de todo el pueblo seré glorificado. Y Aarón calló.

4 Then called Moses unto Mishael, and unto Elzaphan, sons of Uzziel, uncle of Aaron, —and said unto them—Draw near bear away your brethren from before the sanctuary, unto the outside of the camp.

Y llamó Moisés a Misael, y a Elzafán, hijos de Uziel, tío de Aarón, y les dijo; acercaos y sacad a vuestros hermanos de delante del santuario fuera del campamento.

5 So they drew near and bare them away, in their tunics, unto the outside of the camp, —as spake Moses.

Y ellos se acercaron, y los sacaron con sus túnicas fuera del campamento, como dijo Moisés.

6 Then said Moses unto Aaron and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons—Your heads, ye may not bare and your garments, ye shall not rend so shall ye not die, neither against all the assembly, will he be wroth, —but let, your brethren the whole house of Israel, bewail the consuming fire wherewith Yahweh hath consumed.

Entonces Moisés dijo a Aarón, y a Eleazar y a Itamar, sus hijos: No descubráis vuestras cabezas, ni rasguéis vuestros vestidos, para que no muráis, ni se levante la ira sobre toda la congregación; pero vuestros hermanos, toda la Casa de Israel, lamentarán el incendio que el SEÑOR ha hecho.

7 But, from the entrance of the tent of meeting, shall ye not go forth, lest ye die, for, the anointing oil of Yahweh is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

Ni saldréis de la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, porque moriréis; por cuanto el aceite de la unción del SEÑOR está sobre vosotros. Y ellos hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés.

8 Then spake Yahweh unto Aaron, saying:

Y el SEÑOR habló a Aarón, diciendo:

9 Wine and strong drink, thou mayest not drink, —thou nor thy sons with thee when ye enter into the tent of meeting, so shall ye not die, —an age-abiding statute to your generations;

Tú, y tus hijos contigo, no beberéis vino ni sidra, cuando hubiereis de entrar en el tabernáculo del testimonio, para que no muráis; será estatuto perpetuo por vuestras generaciones;

10 That ye may make a difference, between the sacred and the common, —and between the unclean and the clean;

y esto para poder discernir entre lo santo y lo profano, y entre lo inmundo y lo limpio;

11 And may teach the sons of Israel, —all the statutes which Yahweh hath spoken unto them, by the mediation of Moses.

y para enseñar a los hijos de Israel todos los estatutos que el SEÑOR les ha dicho por mano de Moisés.

12 Then spake Moses unto Aaron and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar his sons that were left, Take ye the meal-offering that is left of the altar-flames of Yahweh, and eat it unleavened beside the altar, —for, most holy, it is;

Y Moisés dijo a Aarón, y a Eleazar y a Itamar, sus hijos que habían quedado: Tomad el presente que queda de las ofrendas encendidas al SEÑOR, y comedlo sin levadura junto al altar, porque es cosa santísima.

13 therefore shall ye eat it in a holy place, for, thine by statute, and thy sons’ by statute, it is, from among the altar-flames of Yahweh, —for, so, am I commanded.

Habéis, pues, de comerlo en el lugar santo; porque esto será fuero para ti, y fuero para tus hijos, de las ofrendas encendidas al SEÑOR, pues que así me ha sido mandado.

14 And the wave-breast, and the heave-shoulder, shall ye eat in clean place, thou, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, —for as thine by statute and thy sons’ by statute, have they been given, from among the peace-offerings of the sons of Israel.

Comeréis asimismo en lugar limpio, tú y tus hijos y tus hijas contigo, el pecho de la mecida, y la espaldilla elevada, porque por fuero para ti, y fuero para tus hijos, son dados de los sacrificios de la paz de los hijos de Israel.

15 The heave-shoulder and the wave-breast upon the altar-flames of the fat portions, shall they bring in, to wave as a wave-offering, before Yahweh, —so shall they be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by an age-abiding statute, As Yahweh hath commanded.

Con las ofrendas de los sebos que se han de encender, traerán la espaldilla que se ha de elevar, y el pecho que será mecido, para que lo mezas por ofrenda de mecedura delante del SEÑOR; y será por fuero perpetuo tuyo, y de tus hijos contigo, como el SEÑOR lo ha mandado.

16 Now, as for the sin-bearing goat, Moses diligently sought it but lo! it had been burnt up, —then was he wroth against Eleazar and against Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying:

Y Moisés demandó el macho cabrío de la expiación, y se halló que era quemado; y se enojó contra Eleazar e Itamar, los hijos de Aarón que habían quedado, diciendo:

17 Wherefore did ye not eat the sin-bearer in the holy place? for most, holy, it is, —and thee same, hath he given you that ye may bear the iniquity of the assembly, to put a propitiatory-covering over them before Yahweh.

¿Por qué no comisteis la expiación en el lugar santo? Porque es santísimo, y la dio él a vosotros para llevar la iniquidad de la congregación, para que sean reconciliados delante del SEÑOR.

18 Lo! the blood thereof had not been taken into the holy place, within, —ye should have, indeed eaten, it, in a holy place, as I commanded.

Veis que su sangre no fue metida en el santuario de adentro; habíais de comerla en el lugar santo, como yo mandé.

19 Then spake Aaron unto Moses—Lo! this very day, when they had brought near their own sin-bearer, and their own ascending-sacrifice, there befell me such things as these, —if, then, I had eaten of the sin-bearer this day, would it have been well-pleasing in the eyes of Yahweh?

Y respondió Aarón a Moisés: He aquí hoy han ofrecido su expiación y su holocausto delante del SEÑOR; con todo eso me han acontecido estas cosas; pues si comiera yo hoy de la expiación, ¿Hubiera sido acepto al SEÑOR?

20 And, when Moses heard that, then was it well-pleasing in his eyes.

Y Moisés oyó esto, y lo aceptó.
