Joshua 18

1 Then were gathered together all the assembly of the sons of Israel at Shiloh, and they set up there, the tent of meeting, —the land, having been subdued before them.

ദേശം ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാക്കിയതിനുശേഷം ഇസ്രായേൽസഭ മുഴുവനും ശീലോവിൽക്കൂടി അവിടെ സമാഗമകൂടാരം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.

2 But there remained among the sons of Israel, to whom had not been apportioned their inheritance, —seven tribes.

എന്നാൽ ഇനിയും ഓഹരി ലഭിക്കാത്ത ഏഴ് ഇസ്രായേല്യഗോത്രങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

3 So Joshua said unto the sons of Israel, —How long, will ye be too slothful, to enter in and take possession of the land, which Yahweh God of your fathers, hath given unto you?

അതുകൊണ്ട് യോശുവ ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കുതന്ന ദേശം കൈവശപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനു നിങ്ങൾ എത്രമാത്രം കാത്തിരിക്കും?

4 Set forth for you three men for each tribe, —that I may send them, that they may arise—and go up and down in the land—and map it out as required for their inheritance, and come in unto me.

ഓരോ ഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്നും മൂന്നുപേരെ നിയമിക്കുക. അവർ ദേശം നിരീക്ഷിച്ച്, ഓരോ ഗോത്രത്തിനും കിട്ടേണ്ട അവകാശമനുസരിച്ച് വിവരണം തയ്യാറാക്കാൻ ഞാൻ അവരെ അയയ്ക്കും. അവർ വിവരണവുമായി എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരേണം.

5 So shall they apportion it for themselves into seven parts, —Let, Judah, stay upon his boundary, on the south, and, the house of Joseph, stay upon their boundary, on the north,

ദേശം ഏഴായി ഭാഗിക്കണം. യെഹൂദാഗോത്രം ദക്ഷിണപ്രദേശത്തും യോസേഫിന്റെ ഗോത്രങ്ങൾ ഉത്തരപ്രദേശത്തും താമസിക്കട്ടെ.

6 but, ye, shall map out the [rest of the] land, into seven parts, —and bring in [your descriptions] unto me, here, —then will I cast lots for you here, before Yahweh our God.

ദേശത്തിന്റെ ഏഴു ഭാഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിവരണം തയ്യാറാക്കി എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരിക, ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി നറുക്കിടും.

7 For Levi hath no portion in your midst, for, the priesthood of Yahweh, is his inheritance, —and, Gad, and Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance, beyond the Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them.

ലേവ്യർക്ക് യഹോവയുടെ പൗരോഹിത്യശുശ്രൂഷ അവകാശമായിരിക്കുകയാൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെയിടയിൽ പ്രത്യേക ഓഹരിയില്ല. ഗാദിനും രൂബേനും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പകുതിഗോത്രത്തിനും യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശ അവർക്കു യോർദാന്റെ കിഴക്കേ തീരത്തു നൽകിയ ഓഹരി ലഭിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.”

8 So the men arose, and went, —and Joshua commanded them who were going, to map out the land, saying—Take your journey and go up and down in the land, and map it out, and return unto me, and, here, will I cast lots for you before Yahweh, in Shiloh.

ദേശം നിരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ യോശുവ അവരോട്, “നിങ്ങൾ ദേശം നോക്കി മനസ്സിലാക്കി വിവരണവും എഴുതി എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരിക. ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ ശീലോവിൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി നറുക്കിടും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9 So the men went, and passed through the land, and mapped it out by cities, into seven parts, upon a scroll, —and came in unto Joshua, unto the camp, in Shiloh.

അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ പോയി ദേശത്തുകൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു. അവർ പട്ടണംപട്ടണമായി ഒരു വിവരണം ഏഴുഭാഗങ്ങളായി ഒരു പുസ്തകച്ചുരുളിൽ എഴുതി, ശീലോവിൽ യോശുവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ പാളയത്തിൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

10 And Joshua cast for them lots, in Shiloh, before Yahweh, —and Joshua there apportioned the land unto the sons of Israel, according to their portions.

യോശുവ ശീലോവിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി നറുക്കിട്ടു; അവിടെവെച്ചു ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്ക് ഗോത്രവിഭാഗപ്രകാരം ദേശം വിഭജിച്ചു.

11 Then came up the lot of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, —and the boundary of their lot came out, between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.

ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിനു കുലംകുലമായി ആദ്യത്തെ നറുക്കുവീണു. അവരുടെ അവകാശഭൂമി യെഹൂദയുടെയും യോസേഫിന്റെയും ഗോത്രങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.

12 And so their boundary, on the north border, was from the Jordan, —and the boundary goeth up unto the side of Jericho on the north, and goeth up in the hill country, westward, and the extensions thereof are towards the wilderness of Beth-aven;

അതിന്റെ വടക്കേ അതിര് യോർദാൻനദിയിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച്, യെരീഹോവിന്റെ വടക്കേ ചരിവ് കടന്ന്, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് മലനാട്ടിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച് ബേത്-ആവെൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽക്കൂടി പുറത്തുവരുന്നു.

13 and the boundary passeth over from thence towards Luz, to the side of Luz, southwards, the same, is Bethel, —and the boundary goeth down to Ataroth-addah, by the mountain that is on the south of Beth-horon the nether;

അവിടെനിന്നും ബേഥേൽ എന്ന ലൂസിന്റെ തെക്കേ ചരിവിലേക്കു കടന്ന് താഴത്തെ ബേത്-ഹോരോന്റെ തെക്കുവശത്തുള്ള കുന്നിലെ അതെരോത്ത്-അദാരിലേക്കിറങ്ങുന്നു.

14 then turneth the boundary and goeth round the west border, southward, from the mountain which faceth Beth-horon, southward, and so the extensions thereof are unto Kiriath-baal—the same, is Kiriath-jearim, a city of the sons of Judah, —this, is the west border.

തെക്കുവശത്തുള്ള ബേത്-ഹോരോന് എതിരേയുള്ള കുന്നിൽനിന്ന് ആ അതിര് വീണ്ടും തെക്കോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞു പടിഞ്ഞാറുവശത്തുകൂടി യെഹൂദാമക്കളുടെ പട്ടണമായ കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീം എന്ന കിര്യത്ത്-ബാലിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു പടിഞ്ഞാറേ ഭാഗം.

15 And, the border southward, is from the uttermost part of Kiriath-jearim, —and the boundary goeth out westward, yea it goeth out unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;

തെക്കേ ഭാഗം പടിഞ്ഞാറ് കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീമിന്റെ അതിരുമുതൽ നെപ്തോഹാ നീരുറവകളിൽ എത്തുന്നു.

16 and the boundary goeth down to the uttermost part of the mountain which faceth the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the Vale of Giants, northward, —and descendeth the valley of Hinnom, unto the side of the Jebusite, southward, and then descendeth to En-rogel;

പിന്നെ ആ അതിര് രെഫായീം താഴ്വരയുടെ വടക്കുവശത്തുള്ള ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയുടെ എതിരേയുള്ള കുന്നിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തേക്കിറങ്ങുന്നു. പിന്നെ യെബൂസ്യപട്ടണത്തിന്റെ തെക്കേ ചരിവിൽക്കൂടി ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയിലേക്കു തുടരുകയും ഏൻ-രോഗേൽവരെ എത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

17 and it turneth on the north, and goeth out at En-shemesh, and goeth out unto Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, —and goeth down by the Stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;

അവിടെനിന്നു വടക്കോട്ടു വളഞ്ഞ് ഏൻ-ശേമെശിലേക്കു കയറി അദുമ്മീം മലമ്പാതയ്ക്കെതിരേയുള്ള ഗെലീലോത്തിലേക്കും ചെന്ന് രൂബേന്റെ മകനായ ബോഹാന്റെ കല്ലുവരെ ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.

18 and passeth along unto the side over against the Arabah, northward, —and goeth down toward the Arabah;

തുടർന്ന് ബേത്-അരാബയുടെ വടക്കേ ചരിവിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി അരാബയിൽ എത്തുന്നു.

19 and the boundary passeth along unto the side of Beth-hoglah, northward, and so the extensions of the boundary are unto the bay of the Salt Sea, northward, unto the end of the Jordan, southward, —This, is the south boundary.

പിന്നെ അത് ബേത്-ഹൊഗ്ലായുടെ വടക്കേ ചരിവിൽ ചെന്ന് ഉപ്പുകടലിന്റെ വടക്കേ ഉൾക്കടലിൽ യോർദാന്റെ അഴിമുഖത്ത് തെക്കുഭാഗത്ത് അവസാനിക്കുന്നു. ഇതായിരുന്നു തെക്കേ അതിര്.

20 And, the Jordan itself, boundeth it as an eastward border. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by the boundaries thereof round about, by their families.

കിഴക്കുവശത്തെ അതിര് യോർദാൻനദിയായിരുന്നു. ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിന് കുലംകുലമായി കിട്ടിയ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാവശങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള അതിരുകൾ ഇവയായിരുന്നു.

21 So then the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, are, —Jericho and Beth-hoglah, and Emekkeziz,

ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിനു കുലംകുലമായി ലഭിച്ച പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ഇവയാണ്: യെരീഹോ, ബേത്-ഹൊഗ്ലാ, ഏമെക്-കെസീസ്;

22 and Beth-arabah and Zemaraim, and Bethel,

ബേത്-അരാബ, സെമരായീം, ബേഥേൽ,

23 and Avvim and Parah and Ophrah,

അവ്വീം, പാറാ, ഒഫ്ര;

24 and Chephar-ammoni and Ophni, and Geba, —twelve cities, with their villages:

കെഫാർ-അമ്മോനി, ഒഫ്നി, ഗേബാ— ഇങ്ങനെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;

25 Gibeon and Ramah, and Beeroth,

ഗിബെയോൻ, രാമാ, ബേരോത്ത്

26 and Mizpeh and Chephirah, and Mozah,

മിസ്പാ, കെഫീരാ, മോസ,

27 and Rekem and Irpeel, and Taralah,

രേക്കെം, യിർപ്പേൽ, തരലാ,

28 and Zelah, Eleph, and the Jebusite, the same, is Jerusalem, Gibeath [and] Kiriath, fourteen cities, with their villages. This, is the inheritance of the song of Benjamin, by their families.

സേല, ഹലെഫ്, ജെറുശലേം എന്ന യെബൂസ്യനഗരം, ഗിബെയത്ത്, കിര്യത്ത്—ഇങ്ങനെ പതിന്നാലു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും. ഇവയാകുന്നു ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിനു കുലംകുലമായി കിട്ടിയ ഓഹരി.
