Joshua 18
1 Then were gathered together all the assembly of the sons of Israel at Shiloh, and they set up there, the tent of meeting, —the land, having been subdued before them.
Or toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël s'assembla à Silo, et ils posèrent là le Tabernacle d'assignation, après que le pays leur eut été assujetti.
2 But there remained among the sons of Israel, to whom had not been apportioned their inheritance, —seven tribes.
Mais il était resté entre les enfants d'Israël sept Tribus, auxquelles on n'avait point distribué leur héritage.
3 So Joshua said unto the sons of Israel, —How long, will ye be too slothful, to enter in and take possession of the land, which Yahweh God of your fathers, hath given unto you?
Et Josué dit aux enfants d'Israël: Jusques à quand vous porterez-vous lâchement à passer plus loin pour posséder le pays que l'Eternel le Dieu de vos pères vous a donné?
4 Set forth for you three men for each tribe, —that I may send them, that they may arise—and go up and down in the land—and map it out as required for their inheritance, and come in unto me.
Prenez d'entre vous trois hommes de chaque Tribu lesquels j'enverrai; ils se mettront en chemin, ils traverseront le pays, et ils en traceront une figure selon leur héritage, puis ils s'en reviendront auprès de moi.
5 So shall they apportion it for themselves into seven parts, —Let, Judah, stay upon his boundary, on the south, and, the house of Joseph, stay upon their boundary, on the north,
Ils se la diviseront en sept portions, Juda demeurera dans ses limites du côté du Midi; et la maison de Joseph demeurera dans ses limites du côté du Septentrion.
6 but, ye, shall map out the [rest of the] land, into seven parts, —and bring in [your descriptions] unto me, here, —then will I cast lots for you here, before Yahweh our God.
Vous donc faites une figure du pays en sept parts, et apportez-la-moi ici; puis je jetterai ici le sort pour vous devant l'Eternel notre Dieu.
7 For Levi hath no portion in your midst, for, the priesthood of Yahweh, is his inheritance, —and, Gad, and Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance, beyond the Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them.
Car il n'y a point de portion pour les Lévites parmi vous; parce que la Sacrificature de l'Eternel est leur héritage. Quant à Gad et à Ruben, et à la moitié de la Tribu de Manassé, ils ont pris leur héritage au delà du Jourdain, vers l'Orient, que Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel, leur a donné.
8 So the men arose, and went, —and Joshua commanded them who were going, to map out the land, saying—Take your journey and go up and down in the land, and map it out, and return unto me, and, here, will I cast lots for you before Yahweh, in Shiloh.
Ces hommes-là donc se levèrent, et s'en allèrent; et Josué commanda à ceux qui s'en allaient de faire une figure du pays, en leur disant: Allez et traversez le pays, et faites-en une figure, puis revenez auprès de moi, et je jetterai ici le sort pour vous devant l'Eternel à Silo.
9 So the men went, and passed through the land, and mapped it out by cities, into seven parts, upon a scroll, —and came in unto Joshua, unto the camp, in Shiloh.
Ces hommes-là donc s'en allèrent, et passèrent par le pays, et en firent une figure dans un livre selon les villes en sept parties; puis ils revinrent à Josué au camp à Silo.
10 And Joshua cast for them lots, in Shiloh, before Yahweh, —and Joshua there apportioned the land unto the sons of Israel, according to their portions.
Et Josué jeta le sort pour eux à Silo devant l'Eternel; et Josué partagea là le pays aux enfants d'Israël selon leurs parts.
11 Then came up the lot of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, —and the boundary of their lot came out, between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.
Et le sort de la Tribu des enfants de Benjamin selon leurs familles, sortit, et la contrée de leur sort leur échut entre les enfants de Juda et les enfants de Joseph.
12 And so their boundary, on the north border, was from the Jordan, —and the boundary goeth up unto the side of Jericho on the north, and goeth up in the hill country, westward, and the extensions thereof are towards the wilderness of Beth-aven;
Et leur frontière du côté du Septentrion fut depuis le Jourdain; et cette frontière devait monter à côté de Jérico vers le Septentrion, puis monter en la montagne tirant vers l'Occident; de sorte que ses extrémités se devaient rendre au désert de Beth-aven.
13 and the boundary passeth over from thence towards Luz, to the side of Luz, southwards, the same, is Bethel, —and the boundary goeth down to Ataroth-addah, by the mountain that is on the south of Beth-horon the nether;
Puis cette frontière devait passer de là vers Luz, à côté de Luz, qui est Béthel tirant vers le Midi; et cette frontière devait descendre à Hatroth-addar, près de la montagne qui est du côté du Midi de Beth-horon la basse.
14 then turneth the boundary and goeth round the west border, southward, from the mountain which faceth Beth-horon, southward, and so the extensions thereof are unto Kiriath-baal—the same, is Kiriath-jearim, a city of the sons of Judah, —this, is the west border.
Et cette frontière devait s'aligner et tourner au coin Occidental [qui regarde] vers le Midi, depuis la montagne qui est vis-à-vis de Beth-horon, vers le Midi; tellement que ses extrémités devaient se rendre à Kirjath-bahal, qui est Kirjath-jéharim, ville des enfants de Juda. C'est là le côté d'Occident.
15 And, the border southward, is from the uttermost part of Kiriath-jearim, —and the boundary goeth out westward, yea it goeth out unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;
Mais le côté Méridional est depuis le bout de Kirjath-jéharim; et cette frontière devait sortir vers l'Occident, puis elle devait sortir à la fontaine des eaux de Nephtoah.
16 and the boundary goeth down to the uttermost part of the mountain which faceth the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the Vale of Giants, northward, —and descendeth the valley of Hinnom, unto the side of the Jebusite, southward, and then descendeth to En-rogel;
Et cette frontière devait descendre au bout de la montagne qui est vis-à-vis de la vallée du fils de Hinnom, [et] laquelle est dans la vallée des Réphaïms, vers le Septentrion; et descendre par la vallée de Hinnom jusqu'au côté de Jébusi vers le Midi, puis descendre à Henroguel.
17 and it turneth on the north, and goeth out at En-shemesh, and goeth out unto Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, —and goeth down by the Stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;
Et elle se devait aligner du côté du Septentrion, et sortir à Hen-sémes, et de là vers Gueliloth, qui est vis-à-vis de la montée d'Adummim, et descendre à la pierre de Bohan, fils de Ruben;
18 and passeth along unto the side over against the Arabah, northward, —and goeth down toward the Arabah;
Et passer à côté de ce qui est vis-à-vis de Haraba vers le Septentrion, et descendre à Haraba.
19 and the boundary passeth along unto the side of Beth-hoglah, northward, and so the extensions of the boundary are unto the bay of the Salt Sea, northward, unto the end of the Jordan, southward, —This, is the south boundary.
Puis cette frontière devait passer à côté de Beth-hogla vers le Septentrion; de sorte que les extrémités de cette frontière se devaient rendre au bras de la mer salée, vers le Septentrion, au bout du Jourdain vers le Midi. Ce fut là la frontière du Midi.
20 And, the Jordan itself, boundeth it as an eastward border. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by the boundaries thereof round about, by their families.
Et le Jourdain le devait borner du côté de l'Orient. Ce fut là l'héritage des enfants de Benjamin selon ses frontières tout autour, selon leurs familles.
21 So then the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, are, —Jericho and Beth-hoglah, and Emekkeziz,
Or les villes de la Tribu des enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles, devaient être, Jérico, Beth-hogla, Hemekketsis,
22 and Beth-arabah and Zemaraim, and Bethel,
Beth-haraba, Tsémarajim, Béthel,
23 and Avvim and Parah and Ophrah,
Hauvin, Para, Hophra,
24 and Chephar-ammoni and Ophni, and Geba, —twelve cities, with their villages:
Képhar-hammonaï, Hophni, et Guébah; douze villes, et leurs villages.
25 Gibeon and Ramah, and Beeroth,
Gabaon, Rama, Beeroth,
26 and Mizpeh and Chephirah, and Mozah,
Mitspé, Képhira, Motsa,
27 and Rekem and Irpeel, and Taralah,
Rekem, Jirpeël, Taréala,
28 and Zelah, Eleph, and the Jebusite, the same, is Jerusalem, Gibeath [and] Kiriath, fourteen cities, with their villages. This, is the inheritance of the song of Benjamin, by their families.
Tsélah, Eleph, Jébusi, qui est Jérusalem, Guibhath, [et] Kirjath; quatorze villes, et leurs villages. Tel fut l'héritage des enfants de Benjamin selon leurs familles.
