Joshua 16

1 Then came out the lot, for the sons of Joseph, from the Jordan by Jericho, at the waters of Jericho, eastward, —the desert, going up from Jericho, through the hill country to Bethel;

Y la suerte de los hijos de José salió desde el Jordán de Jericó hasta las aguas de Jericó hacia el oriente, al desierto que sube de Jericó al monte de Bet-el;

2 and it goeth out from Bethel towards Luz, —and passeth over unto the boundary of the Archites at Ataroth;

y de Bet-el sale a Luz, y pasa al término de Arqui en Atarot;

3 and descendeth westward, unto the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Bethhoron the nether, and as far as Gezer, —and the extensions thereof are to the sea.

y torna a descender hacia el mar al término de Jaflet, hasta el término de Bet-horón la de abajo, y hasta Gezer; y sale al mar.

4 So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

Recibieron pues heredad los hijos de José, Manasés y Efraín.

5 And the boundary of the sons of Ephraim, by their families, was, —yea the boundary of their inheritance on the east, was Ataroth-addar, as far as Beth-horon the upper;

Y fue el término de los hijos de Efraín por sus familias, fue el término de su herencia a la parte oriental, desde Atarot-adar hasta Bet-horón la de arriba;

6 and the boundary goeth out westward at Michmethath, on the north, then the boundary bendeth round easward, to Taanath-shiloh, —and passeth by it on the east to Janoah;

y sale este término al mar, y a Micmetat al norte, y da vuelta este término hacia el oriente a Taanat-silo, y de aquí pasa al oriente a Janoa;

7 and goeth down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, —and toucheth upon Jericho, and goeth out at the Jordan.

y de Janoa desciende a Atarot, y a Naarat, y toca en Jericó, y sale al Jordán.

8 From Tappuah, runneth the boundary along westward, to the ravine of Kanah, and the extensions thereof are to the sea, —this, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families;

Y de Tapúa torna este término hacia el mar al arroyo de Caná, y sale al mar. Esta es la heredad de la tribu de los hijos de Efraín por sus familias.

9 together with the cities which were separated for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, —all the cities, with their villages.

Hubo también ciudades que se apartaron para los hijos de Efraín en medio de la herencia de los hijos de Manasés, todas ciudades con sus aldeas.

10 But they did not dispossess the Canaanites who were dwelling in Gazer, —so the Canaanites have dwelt in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and have become tributary servants.

Y no echaron al cananeo que habitaba en Gezer; antes quedó el cananeo en medio de Efraín, hasta hoy, y fue tributario.
