< John 4 >

1 When therefore the Lord knew, that the Pharisees had heard—Jesus, more disciples, is making and immersing, than John, —
ⲁ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϭⲉ ⲉ͡ⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲉⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ϫⲉ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲣ̅ϩⲁϩ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲍⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ
2 although indeed, Jesus himself, was not immersing, but his disciples,
ⲃ̅ⲕⲁⲓⲧⲟⲓ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲍⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲉ.
3 he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
ⲅ̅ⲁϥⲕⲱ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲛ̅ϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ.
4 Now he must needs pass through Samaria.
ⲇ̅ⲛⲉϩⲁⲡⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ.
5 He cometh, therefore, unto a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground which Jacob gave unto Joseph his son.
ⲉ̅ⲁϥⲉ͡ⲓ ϭⲉ ⲉⲩⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲥⲩⲭⲁⲣ ϩⲁⲧⲙ̅ⲡϭⲱⲙʾ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ.
6 Now Jacob’s fountain was there. Jesus, therefore, having become toil-worn with the journey, was sitting thus, upon the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.
ⲋ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲏⲅⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲁⲕⲱⲃ. ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ϩⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϫⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲏⲅⲏ. ⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϫⲡ̅ⲥⲟ ⲡⲉ.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith unto her—Give me to drink!
ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲉⲙⲉϩⲙⲟⲟⲩ. ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲁⲥⲱ.
8 for, his disciples, had gone away into the city, that, food, they might buy.
ⲏ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲟⲩⲟⲙϥ.
9 The Samaritan woman, therefore, saith unto him—How dost, thou, being, a Jew, ask to drink, of me, who am, a Samaritan woman? [for, Jews, have no dealings with Samaritans.]
ⲑ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲕ ⲛ̅ⲧⲕ̅ⲟⲩⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈. ⲛ̅ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ϩⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲉϣⲥⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧ ⲉⲁⲛⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ. ⲙⲉⲣⲉⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲱϩ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ.
10 Jesus answered, and said unto her—If thou hadst known the free gift of God, and who it is that is saying unto thee, Give me to drink, thou, wouldst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
ⲓ̅ⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧⲇⲱⲣⲉⲁ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲁⲥⲱ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲟ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲛⲁⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲛϥϯ ⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲟⲛϩ.
11 She saith unto him—Sir! not even a bucket, hast thou, —and, the well, is, deep: —Whence, then, hast thou the living water?
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲕⲁⲇⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧϣⲱⲧⲉ ϣⲟⲕϩ̅. ⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲕ ϭⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲱⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ̅.
12 Art, thou, greater than, our father Jacob, who gave us the well, —and, himself, out of it drank, and his sons, and his flocks?
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲙⲏ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲕ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲉ͡ⲓⲱⲧ ⲓ̈ⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧϣⲱⲧⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲁϥⲥⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲥ̅ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉϥⲧⲃ̅ⲛⲟⲟⲩⲉ.
13 Jesus answered, and said unto her—Whosoever drinketh of this water, will thirst, again;
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲥⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϥⲛⲁⲉ͡ⲓⲃⲉ ⲟⲛ.
14 But, whosoever shall drink of the water which, I, will give him, in nowise shall thirst, unto times age-abiding, —but, the water which I will give him, shall become, within him, a fountain of water, springing up unto life age-abiding. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ. ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓⲃⲉ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲏⲅⲏ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϥⲱϭⲉ ⲉⲩⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
15 The woman saith unto him—Sir! give me this water, that I thirst not, neither be coming hither to draw.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉ͡ⲓ(ⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉ͡ⲓ) ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲉⲉ͡ⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲙⲉϩⲙⲟⲟⲩ.
16 He saith unto her—Go, call thy husband, and come hither!
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲡⲟⲩϩⲁⲉ͡ⲓ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲉⲓⲙⲁ.
17 The woman answered, and said [unto him]—I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her—Well, saidst thou, A husband, I have not;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ϯϩⲁⲉ͡ⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ. ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ⲁϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ϯϩⲁⲉ͡ⲓ.
18 for, five husbands, thou hast had, —and, now, he whom thou hast, is not thy, husband: This true thing, hast thou spoken.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁϫⲓϯⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛ̅ϩⲁⲉ͡ⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲉϥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩϩⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ. ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϫⲟⲟϥ.
19 The woman saith unto him—Sir! I perceive that, a prophet, art, thou: —
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϯⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲕ ⲛⲧⲕ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
20 Our fathers, in this mountain, worshipped; and, ye, say, that, in Jerusalem, is the place, where, to worship, it behoveth.
ⲕ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲛⲉⲛⲉ͡ⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ϩⲓϫⲛ̅ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲧⲟⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧϣⲉ ⲉⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ϩⲛ̅ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ.
21 Jesus saith unto her—Believe me, woman! There cometh an hour, when, neither in this mountain, nor yet in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲛⲧⲉⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲁⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲉ͡ⲓⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ.
22 Ye, worship, that which ye know not; We, worship, that which we know; because, salvation, is, of the Jews.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ. ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈.
23 But there cometh an hour, and, now, is, —when, the real worshippers, shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for, even the Father, is seeking, such as these, as his worshippers.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲛ̅ⲣⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲉ. ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉ͡ⲓⲱⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛⲁϥ.
24 God is, spirit; and, they that worship him, in spirit and truth, must needs worship.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲛⲁϥ ϣ̑ϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲉ.
25 The woman saith unto him—I know that, Messiah, cometh, who is called Christ, —Whensoever, he, shall come, he will tell us, everything.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲉⲥⲥⲓⲁⲥ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅. ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲡⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉ͡ⲓ. ϥⲛⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ.
26 Jesus saith unto her—I, that speak unto thee, am he.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ (ⲡⲉ) ⲡⲉⲧϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲉ.
27 And, hereupon, came his disciples, and they began to marvel, that, with a woman, he was talking. No one, however, said—What seekest thou? or—Why talkest thou with her?
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲉ͡ⲓ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲣ̅ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ. ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲙⲉⲛⲧⲟⲓ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲕϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲟⲩ ⲏ ⲁϩⲣⲟⲕ ⲕϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲥ.
28 The woman, therefore, left her water-vessel, and went away into the city, and saith unto the men—
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲕⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥϩⲩⲇⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛ̅ⲣ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ.
29 Come! see a man, that told me all things that ever I did: Can, this, be, the Christ?
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲏⲉ͡ⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲁϥϫⲱ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲁⲁⲩ. ⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
30 They came forth out of the city, and were coming unto him.
ⲗ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲏⲩ ϭⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉⲩⲛⲏⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ.
31 In the meantime, the disciples were requesting him, saying—Rabbi! eat.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ̅ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲃⲃⲉⲓ ⲟⲩⲱⲙ.
32 But, he, said unto them—I, have, food, to eat, of which, ye, know not.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩϩⲣⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲙⲥ̅ ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ.
33 The disciples, therefore, began to say, one to another—Hath anyone brought him, to eat?
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲉ͡ⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ.
34 Jesus saith unto them—My food, is, that I should do the will of him that sent me, and complete, his work.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲧⲁϩⲣⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲉ͡ⲓⲉⲉ͡ⲓⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉ͡ⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥϩⲱⲃ.
35 Are, ye, not saying—Yet, a fourmonth, it is, and, the harvest, cometh? Lo! I say unto you—Lift up your eyes, and gaze at the fields, —that, white, are they unto, harvest. Already,
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲙⲏ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲉϥⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲉⲃⲟⲧ ⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲡⲱϩⲥ̅ ⲉ͡ⲓ. ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ϫⲉ ϥⲓⲛⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲃⲁⲗ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲭⲱⲣⲁ ϫⲉ ⲏⲇⲏ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲃⲁϣ ⲉⲟϩⲥⲟⲩ.
36 he that reapeth, receiveth, a reward, and gathereth fruit unto life age-abiding; that, he that soweth, together may rejoice, with him that reapeth. (aiōnios g166)
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲱϩⲥ ⲛⲁϫⲓⲟⲩⲃⲉⲕⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲡⲉⲧϫⲟ ⲛⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲱϩⲥ̅ ⲉⲩⲉⲣⲁϣⲉ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ. (aiōnios g166)
37 For, herein, doth the saying, hold good, —One, is the sower, and, another, is the reaper.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲉⲧ ⲡⲉⲧϫⲟ ⲟⲩⲉⲧ ⲡⲉⲧⲱϩⲥ.
38 I, sent you forth, to be reaping that whereon, ye, have not toiled: Others, have toiled, and, ye, into their toil, have entered.
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲓ̈ϫⲉⲩⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲱϩⲥ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲡ̅ϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲩϣⲡ̅ϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲩϩⲓⲥⲉ.
39 And, out of that city, many, believed on him—of the Samaritans, —by reason of the word of the woman in bearing witness—He told me all things that ever I did.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲥⲣ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁϥϫⲱ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲁⲁⲩ.
40 When, therefore, the Samaritans came unto him, they went on to request him to abide with them; and he abode there two days.
ⲙ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲉ͡ⲓ ϭⲉ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ̅ ⲉϭⲱ ϩⲁϩⲧⲏⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϭⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ.
41 And, many more, believed by reason of his discourse;
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ.
42 and, unto the woman, began to say—No longer, by reason of thy talk, do we believe; for, we ourselves, have heard, and know that, This One, is, in truth, the Saviour of the world.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϭⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲟⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲛⲁⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.
43 But, after the two days, he went forth from thence, into Galilee.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲡϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ.
44 For, Jesus himself, bare witness, that, a prophet, in his own fatherland, hath not, honour.
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲣ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲟ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥϯⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲓⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ.
45 So, when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans welcomed him, having seen, all things, whatsoever he had done in Jerusalem during the feast; for, they also, went unto the feast.
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲁⲩϣⲟⲡϥ̅ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛ̅ⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ϩⲙ̅ⲡϣⲁ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ (ⲛⲉ)ⲁⲩⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲡϣⲁ ⲡⲉ·
46 So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water, wine. And there was a certain courtier, whose son was sick, in Capernaum.
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ⲁϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲕⲁⲛⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲣⲉⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲣ̅ⲏⲣⲡ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲃⲁⲥⲓⲗⲓⲕⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲱⲛⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ.
47 The same, hearing that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, came away unto him, and began requesting him, that he would come down and heal his son; for he was on the point of dying.
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ. ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ̅ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲛϥ̅ⲧⲁⲗϭⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ. ⲛⲉϥⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ.
48 Jesus therefore said unto him—Except, signs and wonders, ye see, in nowise will ye believe.
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲙ̅ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲉⲛⲙⲁⲓ̈ⲛ ⲛⲙ̅ϩⲉⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ. ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ.
49 The courtier saith unto him—Sir! come down, ere my child die!
ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲃⲁⲥⲓⲗⲓⲕⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲟⲩ.
50 Jesus saith unto him—Be going thy way: thy son, liveth! And the man believed in the word which Jesus spake to him, and at once went his way.
ⲛ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲡⲉⲕϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲟⲛϩ. ⲁϥⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲟⲟϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ.
51 And, when he was even now going down, his servants, met him, saying, that, his boy, was living.
ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ⲉϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲁⲛⲉϥϩⲙ̅ϩⲁⲗ ⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ̅ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲕϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲟⲛϩ.
52 So he enquired the hour, from them, when he began, to amend. They said, therefore, unto him—Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.
ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ⲁϥϫⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲉⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲙ̅ⲧⲟⲛ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅. ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲙ ⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϫⲡⲥⲁϣϥⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϥ.
53 So the father took note that it was, in that hour, wherein Jesus said unto him—Thy son, liveth! and he believed, he, and all his house.
ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓⲱⲧ ϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲕϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲟⲛϩ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥⲏⲉ͡ⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ̅.
54 Now, this again, as, a second sign, Jesus did, after coming out of Judaea into Galilee.
ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲙⲉϩⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲓ̈ⲛ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ·
