< John 3 >

1 There was however, a man from among the Pharisees, Nicodemus, his name, —ruler of the Jews.
There was now a man of the Pharisees, Nicodemus name to him, a ruler of the Jews.
2 The same, came unto him, by night, and said unto him—Rabbi! we know that, from God, thou hast come, a teacher; for, no one, can be doing, these signs, which, thou, art doing, except, God, be with him.
He came to (Him *N+KO) by night and said to Him; Rabbi, we know that from God You have come a teacher; no [one] for is able these signs to do that You yourself do, only unless shall be God with him.
3 Jesus answered, and said unto him—Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Answered Jesus and said to him; Amen Amen I say to you; only unless someone shall be born from above, not he is able to see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him—How, can a man be born, when he is, old? Can he, into the womb of his mother, a second time, enter, and be born?
Says to Him Nicodemus; How is able a man to be born old being? Not is he able into the womb of the mother of him a second time to enter and to be born?
5 Jesus answered—Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Answered Jesus; Amen Amen I say to you, only unless someone shall be born of water and of [the] Spirit, not he is able to enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which hath been born of the flesh, is, flesh, and, that which hath been born of the spirit, is, spirit.
That born of the flesh flesh is, and that born of the Spirit spirit is.
7 Do not marvel, that I said unto thee: Ye must needs be born from above.
Not may do wonder that I said to you; It is necessary for you [all] to be born from above.
8 The spirit, where it pleaseth, doth breathe, and, the sound thereof, thou hearest; but knowest not, whence it cometh and whither it goeth: Thus, is every one who hath been born of the spirit.
The wind where it wishes blows, and the sound of it You hear but not you know from where it comes and where it goes; thus is everyone who born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered, and said unto him—How, can these things, come about?
Answered Nicodemus and said to Him; How are able these things to be?
10 Jesus answered, and said unto him—Art, thou, the teacher of Israel, and, these things, knowest not?
Answered Jesus and said to him; You yourself are the teacher of Israel and these things not know?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee: What we know, we speak, and, of what we have seen, we bear witness, and, our witness, ye receive not.
Amen Amen I say to you that what we know we speak and what we have seen we bear witness to, and the witness of us not you people receive.
12 If, the earthly things, I told you, and ye believe not, How, if I should tell you the heavenly things, will ye believe?
If the [things] earthly I have told you and not you believe, how if I may tell to you the [things] heavenly will you believe?
13 And, no one, hath ascended into heaven, save he that, out of heaven, descended, —The Son of Man.
And no [one] has gone up into heaven only except the [One] out of heaven having come down, the Son of Man (who is being in heaven. *KO)
14 And, just as, Moses, lifted up the serpent in the desert, so, must, the Son of Man, be lifted up, —
And even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus to be lifted up it behooves the Son of Man,
15 That, whosoever believeth in him, may have life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
so that everyone who is believing (in Him *N+kO) (not may perish but *K) may have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
16 For God, so loved, the world, that, his Only Begotten Son, he gave, —that, whosoever believeth on him, might not perish, but have life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
Thus for loved God the world, that the Son (of him *ko) the only begotten He gave, so that everyone who is believing in Him not may perish but may have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
17 For God, sent not, his Son into the world, that he might judge the world, but, that the world might be saved through him.
Not for sent God the Son (of Him *ko) into the world that He may judge the world, but that may be saved the world through Him.
18 He that believeth on him, is not to be judged: he that believeth not, already, hath been judged, —because he hath not believed on the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.
The [one] believing on Him not is judged; the [one] but not believing already has been judged because not he has believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And, this, is the judgment: That, the light, hath come into the world, —and men loved, rather the darkness than the light, for, wicked, were their, works.
This now is the judgement that the Light has come into the world, and loved men rather the darkness than the Light; were for of them evil the deeds.
20 For, whosoever doth practise corrupt things, hateth the light, and cometh not unto the light, lest his works should be reproved;
Everyone for evil practicing hates the Light and not comes to the Light so that not may be exposed the works of him;
21 But, he that doeth the truth, cometh unto the light, that his works may be, made manifest, that, in God, have they been wrought.
the [one] however practicing the truth comes to the Light that may be manifest his works that in God have been done.
22 After these things, came Jesus, and his disciples, into the Judaean land; and, there, was he tarrying with them, and immersing.
After these things came Jesus and the disciples of Him into the Judean land, and there He was staying with them and was baptizing.
23 And John also was immersing in Aenon, near to him, because, many waters, were there; and they were coming, and being immersed; —
Was now also John baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because waters many were there. and they were coming and were being baptized;
24 for, not yet, had John been cast into prison.
Not yet for were cast into the prison John.
25 There arose, therefore, a questioning, from among the disciples of John, with a Jew, —concerning purification.
Arose then a debate among the disciples of John with ([a certain] Jew *N+KO) about purification.
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him—Rabbi! he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, unto whom, thou, hast borne witness, see! the same, is immersing; and, all, are coming unto him.
And they came to John and said to him; Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you yourself have borne witness, behold He baptizes, and all are coming to Him.
27 John answered, and said—A man can receive, nothing, except it have been given him out of heaven.
Answered John and said; Nothing is able a man to receive (and not *N+kO) (one *no) only unless it shall be given to him from heaven.
28 Ye yourselves, unto me, bear witness, that, I, said—I, am not the Christ; but—I am sent before, That One.
Yourselves you yourselves to me bear witness that I said (that: *n) (I myself *o) Not am I myself the Christ, but for sent I am before Him.
29 He that hath the bride, is, bridegroom; but, the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth by and hearkeneth unto him, greatly, rejoiceth, by reason of the voice of the bridegroom. This, my joy, therefore, is fulfilled.
The [one] having the bride [the] bridegroom is. the now friend of the bridegroom, the [one] having stood and listening for him, with joy rejoices because of the voice of the bridegroom. This therefore the joy of mine has been fulfilled.
30 That One, it behoveth to increase, —but, me, to decrease.
Him it behooves to increase, me myself however to decrease.
31 He that, from above, doth come, over all, is: he that is of the earth, of the earth, is, and, of the earth, doth speak: he that, out of heaven, doth come, over all, is,
The [One] from above coming above all is. The [one] being from the earth from the earth is and from the earth speaks. The [One] from heaven coming above all is;
32 What he hath seen and heard, of, the same, he beareth witness, —and, his witness, no one, receiveth: —
(and *k) What He has seen and heard, this He testifies, and the testimony of Him no [one] receives.
33 He that hath received his witness, hath set seal—that, God, is, true.
The [one] having received His testimony has set his seal that God true is.
34 For, he whom God hath sent, the sayings of God, doth speak; for, not by measure, giveth he the Spirit.
He whom for sent God, the declarations of God speaks; not for by measure He gives (God *KO) the Spirit.
35 The Father, loveth the Son, and, all things, hath given into his hand.
The Father loves the Son and all things has given into the hand of Him.
36 He that believeth on the Son, hath life age-abiding: whereas, he that yieldeth not unto the Son, shall not see life, —but, the anger of God, awaiteth him. (aiōnios g166)
The [one] believing in the Son has life eternal; the [one] however not obeying the Son not will behold life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (aiōnios g166)
