John 11
1 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, of the village of Mary and Martha her sister.
Եւ մի հիւանդ կար, Ղազարոս անունով, Բեթանիայից՝ Մարիամի եւ նրա քոյր Մարթայի գիւղից:
2 And Mary was she who anointed the Lord with perfume, and wiped his feet with her hair—whose brother Lazarus was sick.
Սա այն Մարիամն էր, որ իւղով օծեց Տիրոջը եւ իր մազերով սրբեց նրա ոտքերը: Եւ սրա եղբայր Ղազարոսը հիւանդ էր:
3 The sisters, therefore, sent out unto him, saying—Lord, see! he whom thou tenderly lovest, is sick.
Սրա քոյրերը նրա մօտ մարդ ուղարկեցին եւ ասացին. «Տէ՛ր, ահաւասիկ նա, ում դու սիրում էիր, հիւանդացել է»:
4 But Jesus hearing, said—This sickness, is not unto death, but for the glory of God, —that the Son of God may be glorified thereby.
Երբ Յիսուս լսեց, ասաց. «Այդ հիւանդութիւնը մահաբեր չէ, այլ Աստծու փառքի համար է, որպէսզի դրանով Աստծու Որդին փառաւորուի»:
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
Յիսուս սիրում էր Մարիամին, նրա քրոջը՝ Մարթային, եւ Ղազարոսին:
6 When, therefore, he heard that he was sick, then, indeed, he abode in the place where he was, two days.
Լսելուց յետոյ, թէ Ղազարոսը հիւանդացել է, նա տակաւին երկու օր մնաց այնտեղ, ուր գտնւում էր:
7 Then, after this, he saith unto the disciples—Let us be leading on into Judaea, again.
Ապա դրանից յետոյ իր աշակերտներին ասաց. «Եկէ՛ք վերստին գնանք Հրէաստան»:
8 The disciples say unto him—Rabbi! just now, were the Jews seeking to stone thee—and, again, goest thou thither?
Աշակերտները նրան ասացին. «Ռաբբի՛, հրեաները դեռ նոր էին ուզում քեզ քարկոծել, եւ նորից այնտե՞ղ ես գնում»:
9 Jesus answered—Are there not, twelve hours, in the day? If one walk in the day, he doth no stumble, because, the light of this world, he seeth;
Յիսուս պատասխանեց. «Ցերեկը տասներկու ժամ չունի՞. եթէ մէկը ցերեկն է քայլում, չի սայթաքում, որովհետեւ այս աշխարհի լոյսը տեսնում է,
10 But, if one walk in the night, he stumbleth, because, the light, is not in him.
իսկ եթէ մէկը գիշերն է քայլում, սայթաքում է, որովհետեւ հետը լոյս չունի»:
11 These things, he said, and, after this, he saith unto them—Lazarus, our dear friend, hath fallen asleep; but I am going, that I may awake him.
Այս բաներն ասելուց յետոյ նորից ասաց նրանց. «Մեր բարեկամ Ղազարոսը ննջել է, սակայն ես գնում եմ, որ նրան արթնացնեմ»:
12 The disciples, therefore, said unto him—Lord! if he have fallen asleep, he will recover.
Աշակերտները նրան ասացին. «Տէ՛ր, եթէ ննջել է, ապա կ՚առողջանայ»:
13 But Jesus had spoken concerning his death; whereas, they, supposed that, concerning the taking of rest in sleep, he had been speaking.
Բայց Յիսուս նրա մահուան մասին էր ասում, մինչդեռ նրանց այնպէս թուաց, թէ նա քնով ննջելու մասին է խօսում:
14 Jesus, therefore, then, said unto them, plainly, —Lazarus, died;
Այն ժամանակ Յիսուս նրանց յայտնապէս ասաց. «Ղազարոսը մեռաւ.
15 and I rejoice, for your sake—that ye may believe, —that I was not there; but let us be going unto him.
բայց ես ուրախ եմ ձեզ համար, որ այնտեղ չէի. որպէսզի դուք ինձ հաւատաք: Արդ, եկէ՛ք գնանք նրա մօտ»:
16 Thomas, therefore, the one called Didymus, said unto his fellow-disciples—Let, us also, be going, that we may die with him.
Թովմասը, որ Երկուորեակ էր կոչւում, աշակերտակիցներին ասաց. «Եկէ՛ք մենք էլ գնանք, որ նրա հետ մեռնենք»:
17 Jesus, therefore, coming, found that, four days already, had he been in the tomb.
Յիսուս եկաւ, նրան գտաւ չորս օրից ի վեր գերեզմանի մէջ:
18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off;
Եւ Բեթանիան Երուսաղէմի մօտ էր շուրջ երեք կիլոմետր:
19 and, many from among the Jews, had come unto Martha and Mary, that they might console them concerning their brother.
Հրեաներից շատերը եկել էին Մարթայի եւ Մարիամի մօտ, որպէսզի նրանց մխիթարեն իրենց եղբօր մահուան համար:
20 Martha, therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet him; but, Mary, in the house, remained sitting.
Երբ Մարթան լսեց, որ Յիսուս գալիս է, նրան ընդառաջ գնաց. իսկ Մարիամը տանը նստած էր:
21 Martha, therefore, said unto Jesus—Lord! if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died;
Մարթան Յիսուսին ասաց. «Տէ՛ր, եթէ դու այստեղ եղած լինէիր, իմ եղբայրը մեռած չէր լինի.
22 And, now, I know, that, whatsoever thou shalt ask of God, God, will give unto thee.
բայց հիմա էլ գիտեմ, թէ ինչ էլ որ Աստծուց ուզես, Աստուած քեզ կը տայ»:
23 Jesus saith unto her—Thy brother shall rise.
Յիսուս նրան ասաց. «Քո եղբայրը յարութիւն կ՚առնի»:
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise, in the resurrection, in the last day.
Մարթան նրան ասաց. «Գիտեմ, որ յարութեան ժամանակ վերջին օրը յարութիւն կ՚առնի»:
25 Jesus said unto her—I, am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, even though he die, shall live again!
Յիսուս նրան ասաց. «Ես իսկ եմ յարութիւն եւ կեանք. ով հաւատում է ինձ, թէպէտ եւ մեռնի, կ՚ապրի.
26 And, no one who liveth again and believeth on me, shall in anywise die, unto times age-abiding. Believest thou this? (aiōn g165)
եւ ով կենդանի է ու ինձ հաւատում է, յաւիտեան չի մեռնի: Հաւատո՞ւմ ես այս բանին»: (aiōn g165)
27 She saith unto him—Yea, Lord! I, have believed, that, thou, art the Christ, the Son of God, —He who, into the world, should come.
Նա ասաց նրան. «Այո՛, Տէ՛ր, ես հաւատում եմ, որ դո՛ւ ես Քրիստոսը՝ Աստծու Որդին, որ աշխարհ էիր գալու»:
28 And this saying, she went away, and called Mary her sister, secretly, saying—The teacher, is present, and calleth thee.
Եւ այս ասելուց յետոյ, գնաց գաղտնաբար կանչեց իր քրոջը՝ Մարիամին եւ ասաց. «Վարդապետն է եկել եւ քեզ է կանչում»:
29 And, she, when she heard, was roused up quickly, and was coming unto him.
Երբ նա լսեց, իսկոյն վեր կացաւ եւ եկաւ նրա մօտ:
30 Not yet, however, had Jesus come into the village, but was still in the place where, Martha, met him.
Յիսուս դեռ գիւղ չէր հասել, այլ դեռեւս այն տեղում էր, ուր Մարթան նրան ընդառաջ էր ելել:
31 The Jews, therefore, who were with her in the house and consoling her, seeing Mary, that quickly she arose and went out, followed her, supposing that she was withdrawing unto the tomb, that she might weep there.
Իսկ այն հրեաները, որ նրա հետ տանն էին եւ նրան մխիթարում էին, երբ տեսան Մարիամին, որ վեր կացաւ իսկոյն ու գնաց, իրենք եւս նրա յետեւից գնացին. կարծում էին, թէ գերեզման է գնում, որ այնտեղ լաց լինի:
32 Mary, therefore, when she came where Jesus was, seeing him, fell at his feet, saying unto him—Lord! if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Իսկ Մարիամը, երբ եկաւ այնտեղ, ուր Յիսուս կանգնած էր, ու տեսաւ նրան, ընկաւ նրա ոտքերն ու ասաց. «Տէ՛ր, եթէ այստեղ եղած լինէիր, իմ եղբայրը մեռած չէր լինի»:
33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, was indignant in the spirit, and troubled himself,
Երբ Յիսուս տեսաւ, որ նա լալիս է, եւ նրա հետ եղող հրեաներն էլ լալիս են, սաստիկ խռովուեց իր հոգում եւ ասաց.
34 and said—Where have ye laid him? They say unto him—Lord! come and see.
«Ո՞ւր դրիք նրան»: Նրան ասացին. «Տէ՛ր, արի՛ եւ տե՛ս»:
35 Jesus wept.
Եւ Յիսուս արտասուեց:
36 The Jews, therefore, were saying—See! how tenderly he loved him!
Հրեաներն ասացին. «Տեսէ՛ք ինչքան էր սիրում նրան»:
37 But, some from among them, said—Could not this man, who opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that, this one also, should not have died?
Նրանցից ոմանք ասում էին. «Սա, որ կոյրի աչքերը բացեց, չէ՞ր կարող նաեւ այնպէս անել, որ սա չմեռնէր»:
38 Jesus, therefore, again, being indignant within himself, cometh unto the tomb. Now it was a cave, and, a stone, was lying thereon.
Յիսուս, դարձեալ խռովուելով ինքն իր մէջ, եկաւ գերեզմանը: Սա մի քարայր էր, որի վրայ մի քար էր դրուած:
39 Jesus, saith, Take ye away the stone! Martha, the sister of the deceased, saith unto him—Lord! by this time, he stinketh, for it is, four days.
Եւ Յիսուս ասաց. «Այդ քարը մի կողմ դրէք»: Մարթան՝ մեռածի քոյրը, նրան ասաց. «Տէ՛ր, հիմա արդէն նեխած կը լինի, քանի որ չորս օրուայ է»:
40 Jesus saith unto her—Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldst believe, thou shouldst see the glory of God?
Յիսուս նրան ասաց. «Քեզ չասացի՞. եթէ հաւատաս, կը տեսնես Աստծու փառքը»:
41 So they took away the stone. And, Jesus, lifted up his eyes on high, and said—Father! I thank thee, thou didst hear me:
Երբ քարը վերցրին, Յիսուս աչքերը վեր բարձրացրեց ու ասաց. «Հա՛յր, գոհութիւն եմ տալիս քեզ, որ ինձ լսեցիր.
42 I, indeed, knew that, always, unto me, thou dost hearken; but, for the sake of the multitude standing around, I spake, —that they might believe that, thou, didst send me forth.
եւ ես գիտէի, որ ամէն ժամ լսում ես ինձ, բայց այս անում եմ շուրջս կանգնած այս ժողովրդի համար, որպէսզի հաւատան, որ դո՛ւ ինձ ուղարկեցիր»:
43 And, these things, having said, with a loud voice, he cried out—Lazarus! Come forth!
Երբ այս ասաց, բարձր ձայնով աղաղակեց եւ ասաց. «Ղազարո՛ս, վե՛ր կաց, դո՛ւրս արի»:
44 He that was dead came forth, bound feet and hands with bandages, and, his face, with a napkin, was bound about. Jesus saith unto them—Loose him, and let him go.
Եւ մեռելը ելաւ՝ կապուած ոտքերով, ձեռքերը երիզով ամրացուած եւ երեսը վարշամակով պատած: Եւ Յիսուս նրանց ասաց. «Արձակեցէ՛ք դրան եւ թողէ՛ք, որ գնայ»:
45 Many therefore from among the Jews, who had come unto Mary, and gazed on what he did, believed on him
Հրեաներից շատերը, որոնք եկել էին Մարիամենց մօտ, երբ տեսան, ինչ որ Յիսուս արեց, հաւատացին նրան:
46 but, certain from among them, went away unto the Pharisees, and told them what Jesus had done.
Իսկ նրանցից ոմանք գնացին փարիսեցիների մօտ եւ պատմեցին նրանց, ինչ որ Յիսուս արեց:
47 The High-priests and Pharisees, therefore, brought together a high-council, and were saying—What are we to do, in that, this man, doeth, many signs?
Քահանայապետներն ու փարիսեցիները ատեան գումարեցին եւ ասացին. «Ի՞նչ անենք, քանի որ այդ մարդը բազում նշաններ է անում:
48 If we let him alone thus, all, will believe on him, and the Romans will come, and take away, both our place and nation.
Եթէ նրան այնպէս թողնենք, ամէնքը կը հաւատան նրան, եւ հռոմէացիները կը գան ու կը վերացնեն մեր ազգն ու մեր սրբավայրը»:
49 But, a certain one from among them, Caiaphas, being, High-priest, for that year, said unto them—Ye, know, nothing at all;
Նրանցից մէկը՝ Կայիափա անունով, որ այդ տարուայ քահանայապետն էր, նրանց ասաց.
50 nor do ye take into account, that it is profitable for you that, one man, should die for the people, and not, the whole nation, perish.
«Դուք ոչինչ չգիտէք, ոչ իսկ խորհել էք, թէ մեզ համար աւելի լաւ է, որ մէկ մարդ մեռնի ժողովրդի համար, քան թէ ամբողջ ազգը կորչի»:
51 This, however, from himself, he spake not, but, being, High-priest, for that year, he prophesied, that Jesus was about to die for the nation;
Այս բանը նա ինքն իրենից չասաց, այլ, քանի որ այդ տարուայ քահանայապետն էր, մարգարէացաւ, որ Յիսուս մեռնելու էր ազգի համար:
52 and, not for the nation only, but that, the scattered children of God also, he might gather together into one.
Եւ ոչ միայն ազգի համար, այլ՝ որպէսզի նաեւ Աստծու ցրուած որդիներին ի մի հաւաքի:
53 From that day, therefore, they took counsel, that they might put him to death.
Ապա այն օրուանից խորհուրդ արեցին, որ նրան սպանեն:
54 Jesus, therefore, no longer openly, was walking among the Jews, but departed thence, into the country near the desert, unto a city called, Ephraim; and, there, abode, with his disciples.
Եւ Յիսուս այնուհետեւ այլեւս համարձակ չէր շրջում հրեաների մէջ, այլ այնտեղից գնաց մի շրջան, որ մօտ էր անապատին. գնաց մի քաղաք, որի անունն էր Եփրայիմ, եւ իր աշակերտների հետ այդտեղ էր մնում:
55 Now the passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up unto Jerusalem, out of the country, before the passover, that they might purify themselves.
Եւ հրեաների զատիկը մօտ էր. եւ այդ գաւառից շատերը Երուսաղէմ բարձրացան զատկից առաջ, որպէսզի իրենք իրենց մաքրեն:
56 They were therefore seeking Jesus, and were saying one to another, in the temple, standing—How seemeth it unto you? that he will in nowise come unto the feast?
Յիսուսին փնտռում էին. եւ մինչ տաճարի մէջ էին, միմեանց ասում էին. «Ինչպէ՞ս է ձեզ թւում, արդեօք այս տօնին չի՞ գայ»:
57 Now the High-priests and the Pharisees had given commands, that, if anyone came to know where he was, he should inform [them], so that they might seize him.
Քահանայապետներն ու փարիսեցիները հրահանգել էին, որ, եթէ մէկն իմանայ, թէ նա որտեղ է, յայտնի, որպէսզի նրան ձ»րբակալ»ն:
