John 10
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you: —He that entereth not, through the door, into the fold of the sheep, but goeth up from another place, that man, is, a thief, and, a robber.
“Les digo la verdad, cualquiera que no entra por la puerta del redil, sino que trepa de alguna otra manera, es un ladrón.
2 But, he that entereth through the door, is, shepherd, of the sheep:
El que entra por la puerta es el pastor de las ovejas.
3 To him, the porter openeth, and, the sheep, unto his voice, hearken: and, his own sheep, he calleth by name, and leadeth them forth.
El portero le abre la puerta y las ovejas responden a su voz. Él llama a sus ovejas por nombre, y las saca del redil.
4 As soon as, all his own, he hath put forth, before them, he moveth on, and, the sheep, follow him, because they know his voice;
Después, camina delante de ellas y las ovejas lo siguen porque reconocen su voz.
5 But, a stranger, will they in nowise follow, but will flee from him, because they know not the voice, of strangers.
Ellas no siguen a ningún extraño. De hecho, ellas huyen de cualquier extraño porque no reconocen su voz”.
6 This similitude, spake Jesus unto them; but, those men, understood not what the things were which he was speaking unto them.
Cuando Jesús hizo esta ilustración, los que le escuchaban no entendieron lo que él quiso decir.
7 Jesus, therefore, said, again—Verily, verily, I say unto you: —I, am the door of the sheep:
Entonces Jesús les explicó nuevamente. “Les digo la verdad: Yo soy la puerta del redil.
8 All, as many as came before me, are thieves, and, robbers: but the sheep hearkened nor unto them.
Todos los que vinieron antes de mi eran ladrones, pero las ovejas no los escucharon.
9 I, am the door: through me, if anyone enter, he shall be saved, and shall come in and go out, and, pasture, shall find.
Yo soy la puerta. Todo el que entra a través de mi, será sanado. Podrá ir y venir, y encontrará la comida que necesite.
10 The thief, cometh not, save that he may thieve and slay and destroy: I, came, that, life, they might have, and, above measure, might have.
El ladrón solo viene a robar, matar y destruir. Yo he venido para traerles vida, una vida abundante.
11 I, am the good shepherd: The good shepherd, his life, layeth down, for the sheep.
Yo soy el buen pastor. El buen pastor entrega su vida por sus ovejas.
12 The hireling, even because he is no shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, vieweth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, —and, the wolf, seizeth them and scattereth, —
El hombre a quien se le paga para cuidar de las ovejas no es el pastor, y huye apenas ve que se acerca el lobo. Él abandona a las ovejas porque no son suyas, y entonces el lobo ataca y dispersa a las ovejas
13 Because, a hireling, he is, and hath no care for the sheep.
pues este hombre solo trabaja para recibir su pago y no le importan las ovejas.
14 I, am the good shepherd, and know my own, and, my own, know me, —
Yo soy el buen pastor. Yo sé cuáles son mías, y ellas me conocen
15 Just as, the Father, knoweth me, and, I, know, the Father; and, my life, I lay down for the sheep.
así como el Padre me conoce y yo lo conozco a él. Yo entrego mi vida por las ovejas.
16 And, other sheep, have I, which are not of this fold: those also, I must needs bring, and, unto my voice, will they hearken, and there shall come to be, One flock, One shepherd.
Tengo otras ovejas que no están en este redil. Debo traerlas también. Ellas escucharán mi voz, y entonces habrá un solo rebaño con un solo pastor.
17 Therefore, doth the Father, love, me, because, I, lay down my life, that, again, I may receive it: —
“Es por esto que el Padre me ama, porque yo doy mi vida para tomarla de nuevo.
18 No one, forced it from me, but, I, lay it down, of myself, —Authority, have I, to lay it down, and, authority, have I, again, to receive it: This commandment, received I, from my Father.
Ninguno puede quitarme la vida; Yo elijo entregarla. Tengo el derecho de entregar mi vida y tengo el derecho de volverla a tomar. Este es el mandato que me dio mi Padre”.
19 A division, again, took place among the Jews, because of these words.
Otra vez los judíos estaban dando opiniones sobre estas palabras que dijo Jesús.
20 But many from among them were saying—A demon, he hath, and is raving, —Why, unto him, do ye hearken?
Muchos de ellos decían: “¡Está poseído por un demonio! ¡Está loco! ¿Por qué lo escuchan?”
21 Others, said—These sayings, are not those of one demonized, —Can, a demon, open the eyes of, the blind?
Otros decían: “Estas no son las palabras de alguien que está endemoniado. Además, un demonio no puede devolver la vista a un ciego”.
22 The feast of dedication took place at that time, in Jerusalem: it was, winter,
Era invierno y era la fecha de la Fiesta de la Dedicación en Jerusalén.
23 and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the porch of Solomon.
Jesús estaba caminando en el Templo por el pórtico de Salomón. Los judíos lo rodearon y le preguntaron:
24 The Jews, therefore, surrounded him, and were saying unto him—How long, holdest thou, our lives, in suspense? If, thou, art the Christ, tell us, plainly.
“¿Por cuánto tiempo nos tendrás en suspenso? ¡Si eres el Mesías, entonces dínoslo claramente!”
25 Jesus answered them—I told you, and ye believe not: The works which, I, am doing in the name of my Father, the same, bear witness concerning me.
Jesús respondió: “Ya les dije, pero ustedes se negaron a creerlo. Los milagros que yo hago en nombre de mi Padre son prueba de quien yo soy.
26 But, ye, believe not, because ye are not of my sheep.
Ustedes no creen en mí porque no son mis ovejas.
27 My sheep, unto my voice, hearken, —and, I, know, them, and they follow me, —
Mis ovejas reconocen mi voz; yo las conozco, y ellas me siguen.
29 What, my Father, hath given me, is, something greater than all, and, no one, can carry off out of the hand of my Father: —
Mi Padre, quien me las entregó, es más grande que cualquier otra persona; y a Él nadie se las puede arrebatar.
30 I and the Father, are, one.
Yo y el Padre somos uno”.
31 The Jews again lifted up stones, that they might stone him.
Una vez más los judíos tomaron piedras para lanzárselas.
32 Jesus answered them—Many works, have I showed you, noble ones, from my Father: For which of those works are ye stoning me?
Jesús les dijo: “Ustedes han visto muchas cosas buenas que he hecho, gracias al Padre. ¿Por cuál de todas ellas me van a apedrear?”
33 The Jews answered him—Concerning a noble work, are we not stoning thee; but concerning profane speech, —and because, thou, being, a man, art making thyself, God.
Loa judíos respondieron: “No vamos a apedrearte por hacer cosas buenas, sino por blasfemia, porque tú eres solamente un hombre y estás afirmando que eres Dios”.
34 Jesus answered them—Is it not written in your law: I, said, Ye are, gods?
Jesús les respondió: “¿Acaso no está escrito en la ley de ustedes: ‘Yo dije, ustedes son dioses’?
35 If, those, he called gods, unto whom, the word of God, came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—
Él llamó ‘dioses’ a estas personas, a aquellos a quienes entregó la palabra de Dios—y la Escritura no se puede modificar.
36 Of him whom, the Father, hallowed and sent forth into the world, are, ye, saying—Thou speakest profanely, because I said, Son of God, I am?
Entonces, ¿por qué están diciendo ustedes que aquél a quien Dios apartó y envió al mundo está blasfemando, porque dije ‘yo soy el Hijo de Dios’?
37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe in me;
Si no estoy haciendo lo que hace mi Padre, entonces no me crean.
38 But, if I am doing them, even though, in me, ye believe not, in the works, believe, —that ye may get to know and go on to know, that the Father is, in me, and, I, am, in the Father.
Pero si lo hago, deberían creerme por la evidencia de lo que he hecho. Así podrán ustedes entender que el Padre está en mí, y que yo estoy en el Padre”.
39 They were [therefore] again seeking to take him; and he went forth out of their hand.
Nuevamente ellos trataron de arrestarlo, pero él escapó de ellos.
40 And he went away again, beyond the Jordan, unto the place where John was at the first, immersing; and he abode there.
Se fue al otro lado del río Jordán, al lugar donde Juan había comenzado a bautizar, y se quedó allí.
41 And, many, came unto him, and were saying—John, indeed, did not so much as, one sign; but, all things, whatsoever John said concerning this one, were, true.
Muchas personas llegaron donde él estaba, y decían: “Juan no hizo milagros, pero todo lo que él dijo acerca de este hombre se ha hecho realidad”.
42 And, many, believed on him there.
Muchos de los que estaban allí pusieron su confianza en Jesús.
