Job 35

1 Moreover Elihu, responded and said: —

എലീഹൂ ഇപ്രകാരം തുടർന്നു:

2 This, dost thou think to be right? Thou hast said—My righteousness is more than GOD’S.

“‘എന്റെ നീതി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നു,’ എന്നു താങ്കൾ പറയുന്നു, ഇതു ന്യായമെന്നു കരുതുന്നോ?

3 For thou dost say, How can one profit by thee? How can I benefit, more than by my sin?

പിന്നെ താങ്കൾ ചോദിക്കുന്നു: ‘അതുകൊണ്ട് എനിക്കെന്തു മെച്ചം? പാപം ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നാൽ എനിക്കെന്തു നേട്ടം?’

4 I, will answer thee plainly, and thy friends with thee.

“അതിന് ഞാൻ താങ്കളോടും താങ്കളോടൊപ്പമുള്ള ഈ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരോടും മറുപടി പറയാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

5 Look at the heavens and see, —and survey the skies—they are higher than thou.

ആകാശത്തേക്കു തലയുയർത്തി കാണുക; നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ വളരെ മുകളിലുള്ള മേഘപാളികളിലേക്ക് ഇമവെട്ടാതെ നോക്കുക.

6 If thou sinnest, what canst thou work against him? Or, if thy transgressions be multiplied, what canst thou do unto him?

താങ്കൾ പാപംചെയ്താൽ അത് അത്യുന്നതനെ എങ്ങനെയാണ് ബാധിക്കുന്നത്? താങ്കളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ അനേകമാണെങ്കിൽ അത് അവിടത്തോട് എന്തുചെയ്യും?

7 If thou art righteous, what canst thou give unto him? Or what, at thy hand, can he accept?

താങ്കൾ നീതിനിഷ്ഠൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ ദൈവത്തിന് എന്തോ ഉപകാരം ചെയ്യുകയാണോ? അവിടത്തേക്ക് താങ്കളുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് എന്തു ലഭിക്കുന്നു?

8 Unto a man like thyself, might thy lawlessness [reach], and, unto a son of the earth-born, thy righteousness.

താങ്കളുടെ ദുഷ്ടത താങ്കളെപ്പോലെ മനുഷ്യർക്കു ദോഷംവരുത്തുന്നു. താങ്കളുടെ നീതികൊണ്ടും ഇതരമനുഷ്യർക്കാണ് പ്രയോജനം.

9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions, [men] make outcry, They cry for help, by reason of the arm of the mighty;

“പീഡനത്തിന്റെ ബാഹുല്യംനിമിത്തം ജനം നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; ശക്തരുടെ കരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു മോചിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനായി അവർ മുറവിളി കൂട്ടുന്നു.

10 But none saith—Where is GOD my maker, Who giveth songs in the night;

എന്നാൽ ‘രാത്രിയിൽ ഗീതങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നവനും ഭൂമിയിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെക്കാൾ നമ്മെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളെക്കാൾ ജ്ഞാനം നൽകുന്നവനുമായ എന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവായ ദൈവം എവിടെ?’ എന്ന് ആരും ചോദിക്കുന്നില്ല.

11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and, beyond the bird of the heavens, giveth us wisdom?

12 There, [men] make outcry, and he answereth not, because of the arrogance of evil-doers.

ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യരുടെ അഹങ്കാരംനിമിത്തം ജനം നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് ഉത്തരമരുളുന്നില്ല.

13 Howbeit, vanity, will GOD not hear, Yea, the Almighty, will not regard it.

തീർച്ചയായും വ്യർഥമായ ഒരു നിലവിളി ദൈവം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയില്ല; സർവശക്തൻ അവയ്ക്കു യാതൊരുവിധ ശ്രദ്ധയും കൊടുക്കുകയില്ല.

14 How much less when thou sayest thou wilt not regard him! The cause, is before him, and thou must wait for him.

അവിടത്തെ കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നു താങ്കൾ പറയുമ്പോൾ എത്ര അല്പം ആയിരിക്കും അവിടന്ന് താങ്കളെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നത്, താങ്കളുടെ ആവലാതി അവിടത്തെ മുമ്പിൽത്തന്നെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതിനാൽ അവിടത്തേക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുക;

15 But, now, because it is not so, [thou sayest] —His anger hath punished, and yet hath he not at all known of transgression;

കാരണം, അവിടത്തെ കോപം ശിക്ഷാവിധി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നില്ല, ദുഷ്ടത അവിടന്ന് അശേഷം പരിഗണിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

16 Thus, Job, vainly openeth his mouth, Without knowledge, he multiplieth words.

ഇയ്യോബ് വായ് തുറന്നു വ്യർഥമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാതെ അദ്ദേഹം പാഴ്വാക്കുകൾ പുലമ്പുന്നു.”
