Jeremiah 50
1 The word which Yahweh spake Against Babylon Against the land of the Chaldeans, through Jeremiah the prophet:
ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ബാബേൽദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം:
2 Tell ye among the nations And let it be heard And lift ye up a standard, Let it be heard do not conceal: Say ye—Captured is Babylon, Confounded is Bel, Broken in pieces is Merodach, Confounded are her images, Broken down her manufactured gods;
“രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ വിളംബരംചെയ്തു പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുക, ഒരു കൊടി ഉയർത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അതു പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുക; ഒന്നും മറച്ചുവെക്കാതെ സംസാരിക്കുക, ‘ബാബേൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; ബേൽദേവൻ ലജ്ജയിലാണ്ടുപോകും, മെരോദക്കുദേവി ഭയംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. അവളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ലജ്ജയിലാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടു, അവളുടെ ബിംബങ്ങൾ ഭയംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്നു.’
3 For there hath come up against her—a nation out of the North The same, shall make her land an astonishment, And there shall be none to dwell therein, —Both man and beast, have removed—have gone.
വടക്കുനിന്നും ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രം അവളുടെനേരേ ആക്രമണം അഴിച്ചുവിടുന്നു, അത് അവളുടെ രാജ്യത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്നു. അതിൽ നിവാസികൾ ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല; മനുഷ്യരും മൃഗങ്ങളും ഓടിപ്പോകും.
4 In those days, and at that time, Declareth Yahweh, Shall the sons of Israel come in, They and the sons of Judah together: Weeping as they travel, so shall they journey on, And Yahweh their God, shall they seek;
“ആ കാലത്തെ നാളുകളിൽ, ഇസ്രായേൽജനവും യെഹൂദാജനവും ഒരുമിച്ച് കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന് തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
5 To Zion, shall they ask the way, Hitherward, their faces, Come and let us join ourselves unto Yahweh, In a covenant age-abiding, which shall not be forgotten.
“അവർ സീയോനിലേക്കുള്ള വഴി ആരായും, അവിടേക്ക് അവരുടെ മുഖം തിരിക്കും. അവർ വന്ന് ശാശ്വതമായ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിയിൽ യഹോവയുമായി തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ബന്ധിക്കും, അത് അവിസ്മരണീയമായിരിക്കും.
6 Wandering sheep, have my people, been, Their own shepherds led them astray, On the mountains, they seduced them, From mountain to hill, have they gone, They have forgotten their couching-place.
“എന്റെ ജനം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയ ആടുകൾ ആയിത്തീർന്നു; അവരുടെ ഇടയന്മാർ അവരെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുകയും അവരെ പർവതങ്ങളിൽ ഉഴന്നുനടക്കാൻ ഇടവരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവർ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്ന് മലയിലേക്ക് അലഞ്ഞുതിരിഞ്ഞ് തങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്രമസ്ഥലം മറന്നുപോയി.
7 All who found them, devoured them, And, their adversaries, said—We shall not be, guilty, —Because they have sinned, Against, Yahweh the pasturage of righteousness, Yea the hope of their fathers—Yahweh.
അവരെ കണ്ടവരെല്ലാം അവരെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ‘ഞങ്ങൾ കുറ്റക്കാരല്ല; നീതിയുടെ ഇരിപ്പിടമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേ, അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയായിരുന്ന യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേതന്നെ അവർ പാപംചെയ്തുവല്ലോ,’ എന്ന് അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
8 Remove ye out of the midst of Babylon, And out of the land of the Chaldeans, come ye forth, —And become ye like he-goats before the flock;
“ബാബേലിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോകുക; ബാബേൽദേശം വിട്ടുപോകുക, ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന് മുമ്പായി നടക്കുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആകുക.
9 For lo! I am rousing and bringing up against Babylon a gathered host of great nations, out of the land of the North, And they shall array themselves against her, From thence, shall she be captured, —His arrows, are as of a hero making childless, None shall return empty.
ഇതാ, ഞാൻ ഉത്തരദേശത്തുനിന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു സഖ്യത്തെ ഉണർത്തി, ബാബേലിനെതിരേ കൊണ്ടുവരും. അവർ അവൾക്കെതിരേ യുദ്ധത്തിന് അണിനിരക്കും, ഉത്തരദിക്കിൽനിന്ന് അവൾ പിടിക്കപ്പെടും. വെറുംകൈയോടെ മടങ്ങിവരാത്ത സമർഥരായ യോദ്ധാക്കളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിക്കും അവരുടെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ.
10 So shall the Chaldeans become a spoil, —All her spoilers, shall be satisfied, Declareth Yahweh;
ബാബേൽദേശം കൊള്ളയായിത്തീരും, അവളെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവരെല്ലാം തൃപ്തരാകും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
11 Because they used to be glad Because they used to be uproarious When plundering mine inheritance, —Because they used to caper about as a heifer at grass, And bellow like bulls.
“എന്റെ ഓഹരി കൊള്ളയിട്ടവരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ആനന്ദിക്കുകയും ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്, ധാന്യം മെതിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ തുള്ളിച്ചാടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും വിത്തുകുതിരകളെപ്പോലെ ഹർഷാരവം മുഴക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും,
12 Your mother, hath turned very pale, She that bare you, hath turned red, —Lo! the last of nations, is—A desert, A parched land, and A waste plain,
നിങ്ങളുടെ മാതാവ് ഏറ്റം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും; നിന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ചവൾ അപമാനിതയാകും. അവൾ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളിൽവെച്ച് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവളാകും— ഒരു മരുഭൂമിയും വരണ്ടദേശവും ശൂന്യസ്ഥലവുമാകും.
13 Because of the vexation of Yahweh, she shall not be inhabited, But Shall become a complete desolation, —Every one passing by Babylon, shall be astonished and hiss, over all her plagues.
യഹോവയുടെ കോപംനിമിത്തം അവൾ, നിവാസികളില്ലാതെ തികച്ചും ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും. ബാബേലിനരികേകൂടി യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെല്ലാം സംഭ്രാന്തരായി, അവർക്കേറ്റ എല്ലാ മുറിവുകളും കണ്ട് ഏങ്ങലടിക്കും.
14 Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about All ye who tread the bow, Shoot at her, do not spare so much as an arrow, —For against Yahweh, hath she sinned.
“വില്ലുകുലയ്ക്കുന്ന ഏവരുമേ, ബാബേലിനെതിരേ എല്ലാവശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും യുദ്ധത്തിന് അണിനിരക്കുക. അവൾക്കുനേരേ നിർല്ലോഭം അസ്ത്രം തൊടുത്തുവിടുക, കാരണം അവൾ യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേ പാപംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 Raise a shout against her round about She hath stretched forth her hand, Fallen are her buttresses, Torn down are her walls, —Because, the avenging of Yahweh it is, Take ye vengeance upon her, As she hath done, do ye, unto her.
എല്ലാ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും അവൾക്കെതിരേ യുദ്ധഘോഷം മുഴക്കുക! അവൾ കീഴടങ്ങുന്നു, അവളുടെ ഗോപുരങ്ങൾ വീഴുന്നു, അവളുടെ കോട്ടകൾ ഇടിച്ചുനിരത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇത് യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരമാകുകയാൽ, അവൾ മറ്റുള്ളവരോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെതന്നെ അവളോടും പകരംവീട്ടുക.
16 Cut ye off the sower from Babylon, And him that graspeth the sickle in the time of harvest, From the face of the sword of the oppressor, Each, to his own people will they turn, and Each, to his own land will they flee.
ബാബേലിൽനിന്ന് വിതയ്ക്കുന്നവരെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്ത് അരിവാൾ പിടിക്കുന്നവരെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുക. പീഡകന്റെ വാൾനിമിത്തം ഓരോരുത്തനും സ്വന്തം ജനത്തിനരികിലേക്കും സ്വന്തം ദേശത്തേക്കും ഓടിപ്പോകട്ടെ.
17 A sheep all alone, is Israel Lions, have driven him away, —At the first, the king of Assyria devoured him, And here, at the last, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones!
“ഇസ്രായേൽ ചിതറപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ആട്ടിൻപറ്റമാണ്, സിംഹങ്ങൾ അവരെ തുരത്തിയോടിച്ചു. അശ്ശൂർരാജാവാണ് അവരെ ആദ്യം വിഴുങ്ങിയത്; അവരുടെ എല്ലുകൾ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ അവസാനത്തെ ശത്രു ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ തന്നെ.”
18 Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Behold me! bringing punishment against the king of Babylon, and against his land, —Just as I brought punishment against the king of Assyria.
അതിനാൽ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇതാ, അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെ ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെയും ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കും.
19 So will I bring back Israel unto his own pasture, And he shall feed upon Carmel and Bashan; And in the hill country of Ephraim and Gilead, shall, his soul, be satisfied.
എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ അവരുടെ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറത്തേക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും, അവർ കർമേലിലും ബാശാനിലും മേയും; എഫ്രയീമിലെയും ഗിലെയാദിലെയും മലകളിൽ മേഞ്ഞ് അവർ അവരുടെ വിശപ്പിനു ശമനംവരുത്തും.
20 In those days and in that time, Declareth Yahweh, The iniquity of Israel, shall be sought, and there shall be none, And the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found; For I will grant pardon to them whom I suffer to remain.
ആ കാലത്ത് ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽത്തന്നെ,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, “ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നാൽ ഒന്നുംതന്നെ ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല, യെഹൂദയുടെ പാപങ്ങളും അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നാൽ ഒന്നും കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല, കാരണം ഞാൻ സംരക്ഷിച്ച ശേഷിപ്പിനോട് ഞാൻ ക്ഷമിക്കുകയാൽത്തന്നെ.
21 Against the land of Merathaim, go thou up against her, And against the inhabitants of Pekod, —Lay waste and devote to destruction after them Declareth Yahweh, And do according to all which I have commanded thee.
“മെറാഥയീം ദേശത്തെ ആക്രമിക്കുക, പെക്കോദ് നഗരത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെയും. അവരെ പിൻതുടർന്ന് വധിക്കുക, നിശ്ശേഷം നശിപ്പിക്കുക,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്. “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ച വിധത്തിലെല്ലാം അവരോടു ചെയ്യുക.
22 The sound of battle is in the earth, —And a great destruction.
യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആരവവും ദേശത്തുണ്ട്, മഹാസംഹാരത്തിന്റെ ആരവംതന്നെ!
23 How is cut and broken the hammer of all the earth! How hath Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
സർവഭൂമിയുടെയും ചുറ്റികയായിരുന്ന ദേശം എങ്ങനെ പിളർന്നു, എങ്ങനെ തകർന്നുപോയി! ബാബേൽ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ വിജനമായിത്തീർന്നതെങ്ങനെ!
24 I laid a snare for thee yea and thou wast captured O Babylon, when, thou wast not aware, —Thou wast found out yea and taken, For with Yahweh, hadst thou contended.
ബാബേലേ, ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് ഒരു കെണിവെച്ചു, അറിയുന്നതിനുമുമ്പേ നീയതിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തി പിടികൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു കാരണം നീ യഹോവയോടല്ലോ എതിർത്തുനിന്നത്.
25 Yahweh opened his armoury, and brought out his weapons of indignation, —For, a work, it is pertaining to My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, in the land of the Chaldeans,
യഹോവ തന്റെ ആയുധശാല തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, തന്റെ ക്രോധത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങൾ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന് ബാബേൽദേശത്ത് ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യാനുണ്ട്.
26 Come ye against her from farthest parts, Throw open her granaries, Cast her up as heaps, and devote her to destruction, —Do not let her have a remnant.
വിദൂരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അവൾക്കുനേരേ വന്ന് അവളുടെ കളപ്പുരകൾ തുറക്കുക. ധാന്യക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങൾപോലെ അവളെ കൂനകൂട്ടുക. അവളിൽ ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ അവളെ നിശ്ശേഷം നശിപ്പിക്കുക.
27 Cut up all her bullocks, Let them go down to the slaughter, —Alas for them! For their day, hath come, Their time for punishment.
അവളുടെ യുവത്വമുള്ള കാളകളെയെല്ലാം വാളിനിരയാക്കുക; അവർ കൊലക്കളത്തിലേക്കു പോകട്ടെ. അവർക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവരുടെ ദിവസം വന്നുചേർന്നല്ലോ, അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ദിവസംതന്നെ.
28 The voice Of them who are in flight and Of such as are escaping, out of the land of Babylon, —To tell in Zion The avenging of Yahweh our God, The avenging of his temple.
നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എങ്ങനെ പകരംവീട്ടിയെന്ന്, അവിടത്തെ ആലയത്തിനുവേണ്ടി എങ്ങനെ പ്രതികാരംചെയ്തു എന്നും, ബാബേലിൽനിന്ന് പലായനംചെയ്തു വന്നവരും അഭയാർഥികളും സീയോനിൽ വിവരിക്കുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക.
29 Publish against Babylon ye chiefs of all who tread the bow—Encamp against her round about Let there be none to escape, Recompense to her according to her work, According to all which she did, do ye to her, —For Against Yahweh, hath she acted presumptuously, Against the Holy One of Israel.
“വില്ലുകൾ കുലയ്ക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരുമേ, ബാബേലിനെതിരേ വില്ലാളികളെ നിയോഗിക്കുക. അവളുടെ എല്ലാവശത്തും പാളയമിറങ്ങുക; ആരും ചാടിപ്പോകരുത്. അവൾ ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും തക്കവണ്ണം അവൾക്കു പകരം കൊടുക്കുക. യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേയല്ലോ അവൾ അഹങ്കരിച്ചത്, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെതിരേതന്നെ.
30 Therefore, shall her young men fall in her broadways, —And, all her men of war, be silenced in that day, Declareth Yahweh.
അതിനാൽ അവളുടെ യുവാക്കൾ തെരുവീഥികളിൽ വീഴും; അവളുടെ എല്ലാ യോദ്ധാക്കളും ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ നാശമടയും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
31 Behold me! against thee most insolent one, Declareth My Lord Yahweh of hosts; For thy day, hath come, Thy time for punishment;
“അല്ലയോ അഹങ്കാരിയേ, ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കെതിരാകുന്നു,” എന്ന് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, “നിന്റെ ദിവസം വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു, നീ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ദിവസംതന്നെ.
32 So shall the most insolent one stumble and fall, And he shall have none to lift him up, —And I will kindle a fire in his cities which shall devour all who are round about him.
അഹങ്കാരി കാലിടറി നിലംപൊത്തും, അവളെ എഴുന്നേൽപ്പിക്കാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല; അവളുടെ നഗരങ്ങൾക്കു ഞാൻ തീവെക്കും, അത് അവൾക്കുചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.”
33 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—Oppressed were the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah, together, —And, all who took them captive, Held them fast Refused to let them go: —
സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇസ്രായേൽജനം പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, അതുപോലെതന്നെ യെഹൂദാജനവും. അവരെ തടവുകാരാക്കിയവരെല്ലാം അവരെ വിട്ടയയ്ക്കാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ മുറുകെപ്പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
34 Their Redeemer, can hold fast, Yahweh of hosts, is his name, He will, thoroughly plead, their plea, —That he may quiet the earth, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
അവരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരൻ ശക്തനത്രേ; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവിടത്തെ നാമം. അവരുടെ ദേശത്തിന് സ്വസ്ഥതയും ബാബേൽ നിവാസികൾക്ക് കഷ്ടതയും വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന് അവിടന്ന് ശക്തിയോടെ അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി വ്യവഹരിക്കും.
35 A sword, is over the Chaldeans, Declareth Yahweh, —And against the inhabitants of Babylon, And against her princes, And against her wise men:
“ബാബേല്യർക്കെതിരേ ഒരു വാൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു ബാബേൽ നിവാസികൾക്കെതിരേയും അവളുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കും എതിരേയുംതന്നെ!” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
36 A sword, is against the praters, And they shall be shewn to be foolish, A sword, is against her heroes And they shall be dismayed:
അവളുടെ വ്യാജപ്രവാചകർക്കെതിരേ ഒരു വാൾ! അവർ ഭോഷരായിത്തീരും. അവളുടെ യോദ്ധാക്കൾക്കെതിരേ ഒരു വാൾ! അവർ ഭയന്നുവിറയ്ക്കും.
37 A sword, is against his horses and against his chariots and, against all the rabble that are in her midst And they shall become women, —A sword, is against her treasures And they shall be made a prey:
അവളുടെ കുതിരകൾക്കും രഥങ്ങൾക്കും അവളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള എല്ലാ വിദേശികൾക്കുമെതിരേ, ഒരു വാൾ! അവർ അശക്തരായിത്തീരും. അവളുടെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ ഒരു വാൾ അവ കൊള്ളയിടപ്പെടും!
38 A drought, is against her waters, And they shall be dried up, —For a land of images, it is, And with their shocking things, they act as men who are mad:
അവരുടെ ജലാശയങ്ങൾ വറ്റിപ്പോകുംവിധം ഞാൻ അവളുടെമേൽ ഒരു വരൾച്ച വരുത്തും; അതു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ദേശമല്ലോ, ഭീതികരമായ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ അവർ ഭ്രാന്തരായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
39 Therefore shall the criers dwell with, the howlers, Yea ostriches, shall dwell therein, —So shall it be dwelt in no more for ever, Neither shall it be inhabited unto generation after generation.
“അതിനാൽ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ജീവികൾ കഴുതപ്പുലികളോടൊപ്പം അവിടെ പാർക്കും, ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷിയും അവിടെ വസിക്കും. എന്നാൽ ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും അവിടെ ജനവാസം ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല തലമുറകൾതോറും അവ നിവാസികളില്ലാതെ കിടക്കും.
40 Like the divine overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and her neighbours, Declareth Yahweh, —There shall not dwell there—a man, Nor sojourn therein—a son of the earth-born.
ഞാൻ സൊദോമിനെയും ഗൊമോറായെയും അവയുടെ അയൽ പട്ടണങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം നശിപ്പിച്ച നാളിലെപ്പോലെതന്നെ,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, “ആരും അവിടെ പാർക്കുകയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ താമസിക്കുകയില്ല.
41 Lo! a people coming in from the North, —Yea, a great nation and many kings, shall be roused up out of the remote parts of the earth:
“ഇതാ, വടക്കുനിന്ന് ഒരു സൈന്യം വരുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ വിദൂരസീമകളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു മഹത്തായ രാഷ്ട്രവും അനേകം രാജാക്കന്മാരും ഉണർത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
42 Bow and javelin, shall they grasp, Cruel, are they and will not have compassion, Their voice, like the sea, will roar, And, on horses, will they ride, —Set in array, as one man for battle, Against thee, O daughter of Babylon!
അവർ വില്ലും കുന്തവും കൈയിലേന്തും; അവർ ക്രൂരരും കരുണയില്ലാത്തവരുമാണ്. അവർ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു മുന്നേറുമ്പോൾ, അവരുടെ ആരവം സമുദ്രംപോലെ ഗർജിക്കുന്നു; ബാബേൽപുത്രീ, യുദ്ധത്തിന് അണിനിരക്കുന്ന യോദ്ധാക്കളെപ്പോലെ നിന്നെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നതിന് അവർ വരുന്നു.
43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, And unnerved are his hands, —Anguish, hath seized him, Writhing pain, as a woman in child-birth.
ബാബേൽരാജാവ് അവരെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള വാർത്ത കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, അവന്റെ കൈകൾ തളർന്നു തൂങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു. പ്രസവവേദന ബാധിച്ച സ്ത്രീ എന്നപോലെ അതിവേദന അവനെ പിടികൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
44 Lo! as a lion, shall he come up from the majesty of the Jordan, Unto the pasture perennial, But I will wink—I will make them run away therefrom, Who then shall be the Chosen One whom against it, I may set in charge? For who shall be like unto, me? And who shall appoint me, a time? And who is the Shepherd that shall stand before me?
ഇതാ, യോർദാനിലെ കുറ്റിക്കാട്ടിൽനിന്ന് നിത്യഹരിതമായ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഒരു സിംഹം കയറിവരുമ്പോഴെന്നപോലെ, ഞാൻ ബാബേല്യരെ ഒരൊറ്റ നിമിഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും. ഞാൻ ഇതിനായി നിയോഗിക്കുന്ന തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ ആര്? എനിക്കു തുല്യനായി എന്നെ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കാൻ ആരാണുള്ളത്? ഏത് ഇടയനാണ് എനിക്കെതിരേ നിൽക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നത്?”
45 Therefore hear ye, The counsel of Yahweh, which he hath counselled against Babylon, And his devices which he hath devised against the land of the Chaldeans, —Surely the little ones of the flock, shall drag them away, Surely he will cause the pasture to be astounded over them.
അതുകൊണ്ട്, ബാബേലിനെതിരേയുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ പദ്ധതികൾ കേൾക്കുക, ബാബേൽദേശത്തിനെതിരേയുള്ള അവിടത്തെ ലക്ഷ്യംതന്നെ: ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിൽ ചെറിയവരേപ്പോലും ഇഴച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലം അവരോടൊപ്പം ശൂന്യമാക്കും.
46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon, the earth trembled, —And, the outcry, among the nations, was heard.
ബാബേൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ശബ്ദത്താൽ ഭൂമി ഞെട്ടിവിറയ്ക്കും; അതിന്റെ നിലവിളി രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ പ്രതിധ്വനിക്കും.
