Jeremiah 46
1 So much of the word of Yahweh as came unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
১জাতিদের বিষয়ে ভাববাদী যিরমিয়ের কাছে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য এল।
2 Of Egypt, Concerning the force of Pharaoh-necho, king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates, in Carchemish, —which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, smote, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: —
২মিশরের বিষয়ে: যোশিয়ের ছেলে যিহূদার রাজা যিহোয়াকীমের চতুর্থ বছরে বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর মিশরের রাজা ফরৌণ-নখোর যে সৈন্যদলকে পরাজিত করলেন, ইউফ্রেটিস নদীর তীরের কাছে কর্কমীশে উপস্থিত সেই সৈন্যদলের কথা:
3 Prepare ye buckler and shield, And draw near to battle:
৩“তোমাদের ছোট ও বড় ঢাল প্রস্তুত কর এবং যুদ্ধ করবার জন্য যাও।
4 Harness the horses, and mount, ye horsemen, Stand forth in helmets, —Polish the lances, put on the coats of mail.
৪ঘোড়াগুলিকে সাজাও, ঘোড়াচালকরা তার উপর চড়। মাথা রক্ষার বর্ম পরে তোমার জায়গায় গিয়ে দাঁড়াও। বর্শাগুলি মসৃণ কর এবং যুদ্ধসজ্জা পর।
5 Why have I seen it? They, panic-struck, are drawing back, Yea, their heroes, are crushed, Yea they have, fled, and not turned, —Terror round about! Declareth Yahweh.
৫আমি এখানে কি দেখাচ্ছি? তারা আতঙ্কে পূর্ণ হয়েছে এবং পালিয়ে যাচ্ছে, কারণ তাদের সৈন্যরা পরাজিত হয়েছে। তারা নিরাপত্তার জন্য দৌড়াচ্ছে, পিছনে ফিরে তাকাচ্ছে না। চারদিকে আতঙ্ক ঘিরে আছে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
6 Let not the swift, flee, Nor let the hero, escape, —Northward, beside the river Euphrates, have they stumbled, and fallen.
৬দ্রুতগামী লোকেরা পালাতে পারছে না; সৈন্যরাও রেহাই পাচ্ছে না। উত্তর দিকে ইউফ্রেটিস নদীর কাছে তারা হোঁচট খেয়ে পড়েছে।
7 Who is it that is like the Nile when it riseth, Like rivers when his waters are tossed?
৭ও কে যে, নীল নদীর মত উঠে আসছে, নদীর মত জল তোলপাড় করছে?
8 Egypt was like the Nile when it riseth, And like rivers, when the waters are tossed: So he said—I will rise, I will cover the earth, I will destroy the city, and the dwellers therein.
৮মিশর নীল নদীর মত হয়ে উঠে আসছে, নদীর মত জল তোলপাড় করছে। সে বলে, আমি উপরে উঠব; আমি পৃথিবী ঢেকে ফেলব; আমি শহরগুলি ও তাদের বাসিন্দাদের ধ্বংস করব।
9 Mount the horses, And drive the chariots madly on, So let the heroes, go forth, —Ethiopians and Libyans that grasp the buckler, And Lydians that grasp—that tread—the bow, But, that day, belongeth to My Lord Yahweh of hosts—
৯হে সমস্ত ঘোড়া, উঠে যাও; তোমরা আক্রমণ কর। হে রথেরা, পাগলের মত হও। হে বীরেরা, ঢাল বহনকারী কূশ ও পূটের দক্ষ লোকেরা, ধনুকধারী লূদীয়েরা, তোমরা এগিয়ে যাও।
10 A day of avenging, to avenge him of his adversaries, When the sword shall devour and be filled, and be sated with their blood, —For, a sacrifice, hath My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, In the land of the North Towards the river Euphrates.
১০সেই দিন টি বাহিনীগণের প্রভু সদাপ্রভুর প্রতিশোধের দিন। তিনি তাঁর শত্রুদের উপর প্রতিশোধ নেবেন। তরোয়াল গ্রাস করবে এবং তৃপ্ত হবে। তাদের রক্ত পান করে পরিতৃপ্ত হবে, কারণ উত্তর দিকের দেশে, ইউফ্রেটিস নদীর কাছে বাহিনীগণের প্রভু সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে বলিদান হবে।
11 Go up to Gilead and fetch balsam, O virgin daughter of Egypt! In vain, hast thou multiplied remedies, Healing, there is none for thee.
১১“হে মিশরের কুমারী কন্যা, তুমি গিলিয়দে উঠে যাও, ওষুধ সংগ্রহ কর। বৃথাই তুমি বেশি ওষুধ নিচ্ছ; তুমি সুস্থ হবে না।
12 The nations have heard of thy disgrace, And, thine outcry, hath filled the earth, —For hero against hero, have they stumbled, Together, have fallen, the twain!
১২জাতিরা তোমার অপমানের কথা শুনেছে; তোমার বিলাপে পৃথিবী পূর্ণ হবে। এক সৈন্য আর এক সৈন্যের উপর হোঁচট খেয়েছে, দুজনেই একসঙ্গে পতিত হল।”
13 The word which Yahweh spake unto Jeremiah the prophet, —as to the coming of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon to smite the land of Egypt: —
১৩বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর কখন মিশর দেশে এসে আক্রমণ করবেন সেই কথা সদাপ্রভু ভাববাদী যিরমিয়কে বললেন।
14 Tell ye it in Egypt, And let it be heard in Migdol, Yea let it be heard in Noph, and in Tahpanhes, —Say ye—Stand thou forth, and prepare thyself, For a sword hath devoured round about thee.
১৪তোমরা মিশরে প্রচার কর, মিগ্দোল ও নোফে এটি শোনা যাক। তফনহেষে ঘোষণা করে বল, তোমরা জায়গা নিয়ে দাঁড়াও ও প্রস্তুত হও, কারণ তরোয়াল তোমাদের চারপাশে গ্রাস করছে।
15 Wherefore have thy valiant ones been laid prostrate? He hath made no stand, because, Yahweh, hath driven him back:
১৫তোমাদের দেবতা আপনি কেন পালিয়ে গেল? কেন তোমাদের দেবতা দাঁড়াতে পারছে না? সদাপ্রভু তাদের নীচে ছুঁড়ে ফেলেছেন।
16 Hath made many a one to be stumbling, Yea fallen is every one against his neighbour, So they have said—Arise and let us return to our own people, And unto the land of our birth, From the face of the sword of the oppressor.
১৬তিনি হোঁচট খাওয়া লোকের সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি করেন, প্রত্যেক সৈন্য একে অন্যের বিরুদ্ধে পতিত হয়। তারা বলছে, ওঠো, চল আমরা বাড়ি যাই। চল আমরা নিজেদের লোকদের কাছে ও নিজেদের দেশে ফিরে যাই। চল আমরা সেই তরোয়ালকে ত্যাগ করি যা আমাদের আঘাত করে।
17 Proclaim ye a name, —Pharaoh, king of Egypt—a Sound! He hath overstepped the time appointed!
১৭তারা সেখানে ঘোষণা করল, মিশরের রাজা ফরৌণ শুধুমাত্র একটি শব্দ; যে তার সুযোগ হারিয়েছে।
18 As I live, saith the King, Yahweh of hosts, is his name: Though Like Tabor among mountains, Like Carmel, Into the sea shall he go!
১৮সেই রাজা, যাঁর নাম বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, তাঁর ঘোষণা “আমার জীবনের দিব্যি, পর্বতের মধ্যে তাবোরের মত এবং সমুদ্রের কাছের কর্মিলের মত একজন আসবেন।
19 Baggage for captivity, prepare thee, O inhabitress, daughter of Egypt; For, Noph, shall become a desolation, And be burned without inhabitant.
১৯হে মিশরের মেয়েরা, নির্বাসনের জন্য তোমাদের জিনিসপত্র গুছিয়ে নাও। কারণ নোফ ভয়ঙ্কর, ধ্বংসস্থান হয়ে যাবে; সেখানে কেউ বাস করবে না।
20 A calf of great beauty, is Egypt: The gad-fly, out of the North, cometh—cometh.
২০মিশর খুব সুন্দর একটি যুবতী গরু, কিন্তু উত্তর দিক থেকে তার বিরুদ্ধে একটি দংশক পোকা আসছে। সেটা আসছে।
21 Even her hirelings in her midst are like fatted calves, For, even they, have turned—have fled at once! have made no stand! For, their day of doom, hath come upon them, The time of their visitation.
২১মিশরের মধ্যবর্তী তার সৈন্যেরা পুষ্ট বাছুরের মত। কিন্তু তারা ফিরে যাবে ও পালিয়ে যাবে। তারা একসঙ্গে দাঁড়াবে না, কারণ তাদের বিপদের দিন, তাদের শাস্তি পাবার দিন আসছে।
22 Her noise, like a serpent, departeth, —For, with a force, they advance, And with axes, have they come against her, like them who fell trees:
২২মিশর সাপের মত শিশ ধ্বনি করবে ও বুকে হাঁটবে, কারণ তার শত্রুরা তার বিরুদ্ধে এগিয়ে আসছে। তারা কাঠুরিয়াদের মত কুড়ুল নিয়ে তার বিরুদ্ধে আসবে।
23 They have cut down her forest Declareth Yahweh, Surely he cannot be searched out, —For they have outnumbered locusts, and cannot be counted.
২৩তারা অরণ্য কেটে ফেলবে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “যদিও তা অনেক গভীর। কারণ পঙ্গপালের থেকে শত্রুদের সংখ্যা বেশি হবে।
24 Put to shame is the daughter of Egypt, —She hath been delivered into the hand of the people of the North.
২৪মিশরের মেয়ে লজ্জিত হবে। সে উত্তর দিকের লোকেদের হাতে সমর্পিত হবে।”
25 Saith Yahweh of host God of Israel, —Behold me! bringing punishment—against Amon of No, and upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt, and upon her gods and upon her kings, —Even upon Pharaoh, and upon all that trust in him;
২৫বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেন, “দেখ, আমি নো শহরের দেবতা আমোনকে, ফরৌণ ও মিশরকে, তার দেবতাদের ও রাজাদের, ফরৌণের উপর নির্ভরশীল সবাইকে শাস্তি দেব।
26 And I will deliver them—Into the hand of them who are seeking their life, Even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon And into the hand of his servants, —And after that, shall it be inhabited as in the days of old Declareth Yahweh.
২৬যারা তাদের হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করে, তাদের হাতে বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর ও তার দাসেদের হাতে আমি তাদের সমর্পণ করব। কিন্তু পরে মিশরে আগের দিনের র মত লোকজন বাস করবে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
27 Thou, therefore, do not fear, O my Servant Jacob Nor be dismayed O Israel, For behold me! Saving thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity, —So shall Jacob return and be quiet and shall rest, With none to occasion alarm.
২৭“কিন্তু তুমি, আমার দাস যাকোব, ভয় কোরো না; আতঙ্কিত হোয়ো না, ইস্রায়েল, কারণ আমি তোমাকে দূর দেশ থেকে ও বন্দী থাকা দেশ থেকে ফিরিয়ে আনব। তখন যাকোব ফিরে আসবে, শান্তিতে খুঁজে পাবে ও নিরাপদে থাকবে এবং কেউ তাকে ভয় দেখাবে না।
28 Thou, do not fear, O my Servant Jacob, Urgeth Yahweh, For, with thee, am I: Though I make an end of all the nations whither I have driven thee, Yet of thee, will I not make an end, But will correct thee in measure, And not hold thee, guiltless,
২৮তুমি, আমার দাস যাকোব, ভয় কোরো না” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “কারণ আমি তোমার সঙ্গে আছি। তাই যে সব জাতির মধ্যে আমি তোমাকে ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলাম, আমি তাদের সম্পূর্ণভাবে ধ্বংস করব। কিন্তু আমি তোমাকে সম্পূর্ণভাবে ধ্বংস করব না। যদিও আমি তোমাকে যথাযথভাবে শাসন করব, একেবারে শাস্তি না দিয়েও ছাড়ব না।”
