Jeremiah 25
1 The word which came upon Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, —the same, was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
১যিহূদার সমস্ত লোকদের সম্বন্ধে এই বাক্য যিরমিয়ের কাছে এল। যোশিয়ের ছেলে যিহূদার রাজা যিহোয়াকীমের রাজত্বের চতুর্থ বছরে এটি এসেছিল। সেটি বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসরের প্রথম বছর ছিল।
2 which word Jeremiah the prophet spake concerning all the people of Judah, and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying: —
২যিরমিয় ভাববাদী সমস্ত যিহূদার লোক ও যিরূশালেমের সমস্ত বাসিন্দাদের কাছে ঘোষণা করলেন,
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah even until this day, the which is the twenty-third year, hath the word of Yahweh come unto me; and I have spoken unto you, betimes, speaking, yet have ye not hearkened.
৩তিনি বললেন, “আমোনের ছেলে যিহূদার রাজা যোশিয়ের রাজত্বের তেরো বছর থেকে এই দিন পর্যন্ত, তেইশ বছর ধরে সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য আমার কাছে এসেছে। আমি তোমাদের তা ঘোষণা করেছি। আমি সেগুলি প্রচার করতে আগ্রহী ছিলাম, কিন্তু তোমরা শোনো নি।
4 And Yahweh sent unto you all, his servants the prophets, betimes sending, though ye hearkened not, neither inclined ye your ear to hear:
৪সদাপ্রভু তাঁর সমস্ত ভাববাদী দাসদের তোমাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছেন। তাঁরাও আগ্রহী ছিলেন, কিন্তু তোমরা শোনো নি বা মনোযোগ দাওনি।
5 saying, —Return I pray you every one from his wicked way and from the wickedness of your doings, So shall ye remain on the soil which Yahweh hath given to you and to your fathers, —even from age to age;
৫সেই ভাববাদীরা বলেছেন, ‘প্রত্যেকে নিজেদের মন্দ পথ ও দুর্নীতি থেকে ফের এবং যে দেশ সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের ও তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের প্রাচীনকালে চিরস্থায়ী উপহার হিসাবে দিয়েছিলেন সেই দেশে ফিরে এসো।
6 But do not go away after other gods to serve them and to bow down to them, —So shall ye not provoke me to anger with the work of your hands, and I will not bring calamity upon you;
৬তাই অন্য দেবতাদের ভজনা করতে তাদের কাছে যেও না বা তাদের কাছে মাথা নিচু কোরো না এবং তোমাদের হাতের তৈরী জিনিস দিয়ে তাঁকে অসন্তুষ্ট করে তুলো না, না হলে আমি তোমাদের ক্ষতি করবো না’।
7 Howbeit ye hearkened not unto me, Declareth Yahweh, —that ye might provoke me to anger with the work of your hands unto your own hurt.
৭কিন্তু তোমরা আমার কথা শোননি।” এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “তোমাদের হাতের তৈরী জিনিস দিয়ে তোমরা আমাকে অসন্তুষ্ট করে নিজেদের ক্ষতি করেছ।”
8 Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Because ye have not heard my words,
৮সেইজন্য বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তোমরা আমার কথা শোনো নি,
9 Behold me! sending and fetching all the families of the North, Declareth Yahweh and Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon my servant, And I will bring them in against this land and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations, round about, —And I will devote them to destruction, and make them an astonishment and a hissing, and age-abiding desolations.
৯দেখ, আমি উত্তরের সমস্ত লোককে জড়ো করতে আদেশ পাঠাবো” এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা “আমার দাস বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসরকে এই দেশ ও তার বাসিন্দাদের বিরুদ্ধে এবং তোমার চারপাশের সমস্ত জাতিদের বিরুদ্ধে নিয়ে আসবো। কারণ আমি তাদের ধ্বংস করার জন্য আলাদা করব। আমি তাদের ভয়ঙ্কর করে তুলব ও শিশ দেওয়ার পাত্র করব; চিরস্থায়ী জনশূন্য করব।
10 And I will banish from among them—The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, The voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, —The sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp:
১০আনন্দ এবং উল্লাসের শব্দ-বর ও কনের স্বর, জাঁতার শব্দ ও বাতির আলো আমি এই সমস্ত জাতিগুলি থেকে এই সমস্ত জিনিস অদৃশ্য করে দেব।
11 So shall all this land become a desolation, an astonishment, And these nations shall serve the king of Babylon, seventy years.
১১তখন এই সমস্ত দেশ জনশূন্য ও ভয়ঙ্কর হয়ে যাবে এবং এই জাতিগুলি সত্তর বছর ধরে বাবিলের রাজার সেবা করবে।
12 And it shall some to pass—When the seventy years are fulfilled, I will visit upon the king of Babylon and upon that nation, Declareth Yahweh their iniquity, and upon the land of the Chaldeans, —and I will turn it into age-abiding desolations.
১২যখন সত্তর বছর পূর্ণ হয়ে যাবে তখন এটা ঘটবে, আমি বাবিলের রাজা ও কলদীয় জাতিকে শাস্তি দেব” এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “তাদের অন্যায়ের জন্য দেশটিকে চিরদিনের র জন্য জনশূন্য করে তুলব।
13 So will I bring upon that land, All my words which I have spoken against it, —Even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
১৩তখন আমি সেই সমস্ত দেশের বিরুদ্ধে যা বলেছি এবং এই সমস্ত জাতির বিরুদ্ধে যিরমিয় যে ভাববাণী এ সব বইয়ে লেখা আছে, তা আমি সম্পন্ন করব।
14 For many nations and great kings have used, even them, as slaves, So will I recompense to them—According to their deed and According to the work of their own hands.
১৪কারণ এই সব জাতিকে অন্য অনেক জাতি মহান রাজারা দাস বানাবে। তাদের সমস্ত কাজকর্ম এবং হাতের কাজ অনুসারে আমি তাদের ফল দেব।”
15 For, thus, said Yahweh, God of Israel unto me, Take this cup of indignation wine out of my hand, —and cause all the nations unto whom I am sending thee, to drink it:
১৫সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর আমাকে এই কথা বললেন, “আমার হাত থেকে রাগে পূর্ণ আঙ্গুর রসের এই পেয়ালাটা নাও এবং যে সব জাতির কাছে আমি তোমাকে পাঠাচ্ছি তাদের তা পান করাও।
16 Yea they shall drink and reel to and fro and act as madmen, because of the sword which I am sending between them.
১৬কারণ তারা পান করবে, তারপর টলবে এবং যে তরোয়াল আমি তাদের মধ্যে পাঠাবো, তার জন্য পাগল হবে।”
17 So I took the cup out of the hand of Yahweh, —and caused all the nations unto whom Yahweh had sent me to drink:
১৭তাই আমি সদাপ্রভুর হাত থেকে পেয়ালাটা নিলাম এবং সদাপ্রভু যে সব জাতির কাছে আমাকে পাঠালেন, আমি তাদের পান করালাম।
18 [to wit said he] —Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and her kings her princes, —making them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a contempt, as at this day;
১৮তারা এই এই যিরূশালেম, যিহূদার শহরগুলি এবং তার রাজা ও রাজকর্মচারী যেন তারা ধ্বংস ও আতঙ্কজনক হয়, শিশ দেওয়ার পাত্র ও অভিশপ্ত হবে, যেমন তাদের আজকের দিনের র মত।
19 Pharaoh king of Egypt and his servants and his princes, and all his people;
১৯অন্যান্য জাতিরাও এটা পান করেছে; মিশরের রাজা ফরৌণ, তার দাসেরা, তার রাজকর্মচারীরা, তার সমস্ত লোকেরা,
20 And all the Bedawin, and all the kings of the land of Uz, —and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, even Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
২০সমস্ত লোকেদের মিশ্রিত ঐতিহ্য এবং ঊষ দেশের সমস্ত রাজা; পলেষ্টীয়দের সমস্ত রাজা অস্কিলোন, ঘসা, ইক্রোণ ও অসদোদের অবশিষ্ট অংশ;
21 Edom and Moab, and the sons of Ammon;
২১ইদোম, মোয়াব ও অম্মোনের লোকেরা;
22 And all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Zidon, —and the kings of the Coastland, that is beyond the sea;
২২সোর ও সীদোনের রাজারা; সমুদ্রের অন্য পারের রাজারা;
23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all the clipt-beards;
২৩দদান, টেমা, বূষ ও মাথার দুপাশের চুল কাটা লোকেরা।
24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the Bedawin, who dwell in the desert;
২৪এই লোকেরাও এটা পান করেছে; আরবের সমস্ত রাজারা এবং মিশ্রিত ঐতিহ্যের রাজারা, যারা মরুপ্রান্তে বসবাস করে;
25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
২৫সিম্রীর রাজারা, এলমের রাজারা ও মাদীয়ের রাজারা;
26 And all the kings of the North, the near and the far every man with his brother, and all the kingdoms of the earth which are on the face of the ground; And the king of Sheshach, shall drink, after them.
২৬উত্তর দিকের কাছের ও অনেক দূরের সমস্ত রাজারা প্রত্যেকে, তাদের ভাই ও পৃথিবীর উপরিতলের সমস্ত রাজ্যগুলি। নির্বিশেষে বাবিলের রাজাও তাদের পরে তা পান করবে।
27 Therefore shalt thou say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel, —Drink ye and be drunken, and vomit, and fall and rise not, —because of the sword which I am sending between you.
২৭সদাপ্রভু আমাকে বললেন, “এখন তুমি তাদের অবশ্যই বল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, ‘পান কর এবং মাতাল হও, তারপর বমি কর, পতিত হও এবং তরোয়ালের সামনে উঠে দাড়াবে না, যা আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে পাঠাচ্ছি’।
28 And it shall be when they shall refuse to take the cup at thy hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Ye shall certainly drink;
২৮তখন এটা ঘটবে যে, যদি তারা তোমার হাত থেকে পেয়ালা নিয়ে পান করতে অস্বীকার করে, তবে তুমি তাদের বলবে যে, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘তোমরা অবশ্যই এটা খাবে।
29 For lo! with the city on which my Name hath been called, am I making a beginning of sending calamity, And shall, ye, be held, guiltless? Ye shall not be held guiltless: For a sword, am I proclaiming against all the inhabitants of the earth, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
২৯কারণ দেখ, যে শহরকে আমার নাম ডাকা হয়, সেখানে আমি ক্ষয়ক্ষতি আনি, আর তোমরা কি শাস্তিমুক্ত থাকবে? তোমরা মুক্ত থাকবে না, কারণ পৃথিবীর সমস্ত বাসিন্দাদের বিরুদ্ধে আমি তরোয়াল ডেকে আনছি!’ এটা বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
30 Thou, therefore, shalt prophesy against them all these words, —and shalt say unto them—Yahweh, from on high, will roar Yea from his holy habitation, will utter his voice, He will, roar mightily over his home, With a shout as of them who tread the winepress, will he answer unto all the inhabitants of the earth.
৩০তাই তুমি নিজে, যিরমিয়, তাদের কাছে এই সব কথা ভাববাণী কর, ‘সদাপ্রভু উপর থেকে গর্জন করেন এবং তাঁর লুকানো পবিত্র স্থান থেকে তিনি তাঁর গলার স্বর শোনান। তিনি তাঁর পবিত্র স্থান থেকে গর্জন করবেন; তিনি পৃথিবীতে সমস্ত বাসিন্দাদের বিরুদ্ধে চিৎকার করেন, যেমন লোকেরা গান করে যখন তারা আঙ্গুর মাড়াই করে।
31 There hath come in a tumult as far as the end of the earth, For a controversy, hath Yahweh with the nations, Himself, hath entered into judgment with all flesh, —As for the lawless, he hath delivered them to the sword Declareth Yahweh.
৩১পৃথিবীর শেষ সীমানা পর্যন্ত একটি শব্দ আসে, কারণ সদাপ্রভু জাতিদের বিরুদ্ধে একটি নালিশ আনতে চলেছেন। তিনি সমস্ত মানুষের বিচার করবেন। তিনি তরোয়ালের হাতে দুষ্টদের তুলে দেবেন’।”
32 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Lo calamity! going forth from nation to nation, —And a great tempest, shall bestirred up, out of the remote parts of the earth.
৩২বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “দেখ, এক জাতি থেকে আর এক জাতিতে বিপদ ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে এবং পৃথিবীর শেষ সীমানা থেকে ভীষণ ঝড় শুরু হচ্ছে।”
33 Then shall the slain of Yahweh in that day, be from one end of the earth, even unto the other end of the earth, —They shall not be lamented, nor gathered together nor buried, As dung, on the face of the ground, shall they serve.
৩৩তখন যারা সদাপ্রভুর মাধ্যমে নিহত হয়েছিল, তারা পৃথিবীর এক সীমানা থেকে অন্য সীমানা পর্যন্ত দেখা যাবে। কেউ বিলাপ করবে না, একত্রিত হবে না বা কবরে যাবে না। তারা মাটিতে পড়ে থাকা গোবরের মত হবে।
34 Howl ye shepherds and make outcry, And roll in the dust ye illustrious of the flock, Because your days for being slaughtered, are fulfilled, —Therefore will I break you in pieces, and ye shall fall like a precious vessel!
৩৪মেষপালকেরা, কাঁদ, সাহায্যের জন্য চিত্কার কর! মাটিতে গড়াগড়ি দাও, হে পালের নেতারা। কারণ তোমাদের হত্যার ও ছিন্নভিন্ন হবার দিন এসেছে। তোমরা বাছাই করা ভেড়ার মত পতিত হবে।
35 Then shall place of refuge vanish from the shepherds, And escape from the illustrious of the flock.
৩৫মেষপালকদের আশ্রয় থাকবে না; পালের নেতারা রেহাই পাবে না।
36 The voice of the outcry of the shepherds! Yea the howling of the illustrious of the flock!—Because Yahweh is laying waste the grounds where they fed.
৩৬মেষপালকদের চিত্কারের শব্দ আর পালের নেতাদের হাহাকার শোন, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাদের চারণ ভূমি নষ্ট করেছেন।
37 Then shall be silenced the prosperous pastures, —Because of the fierceness of the anger of Yahweh.
৩৭সদাপ্রভুর জ্বলন্ত রাগের জন্য শান্তিপূর্ণ মাঠগুলি বিধ্বস্ত হয়ে যাচ্ছে।
38 He hath left as a lion his covert, For their land hath become a horror, Because of the fierceness of oppression and Because of the fierceness of his anger.
৩৮যুবক সিংহের মত, তিনি নিজের গুহা ছেড়ে এসেছেন; কারণ তার অত্যাচারীদের রাগের জন্য, তাঁর জ্বলন্ত রোষের জন্য তাদের দেশ ভয়ঙ্কর হয়ে যাবে।
