Isaiah 13
1 The oracle on Babylon, —of which Isaiah, son of Amoz had vision: —
Revelação sobre a Babilônia, vista por Isaías, filho de Amoz.
2 Upon a bare mountain, lift ye up a standard, Raise high the voice to them, Wave the hand, That they may enter the doors of nobles.
Levantai uma bandeira sobre um alto monte, levantai a voz a eles; movei a mão ao alto, para que entrem pelas portas dos príncipes.
3 I myself, have given charge to my hallowed ones, —Yea I have called My heroes in showing mine anger, My proudly exulting ones.
Eu dei ordens aos meus santificados; também chamei aos meus guerreiros para minha ira, aos que se alegram com minha glória.
4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, A resemblance of many people, —The noise of a tumult of kingdoms Nations gathered together, Yahweh of hosts, mustering a host for battle!
Há um ruído de tumulto sobre os montes, como o de um imenso povo; ruído de multidões de reinos de nações reunidas; o SENHOR dos exércitos está revistando um exército para a guerra.
5 They are coming in From a land far away. From the utmost bound of the heavens, —Yahweh—with his weapons of indignation, To destroy the land.
Eles vêm de uma terra distante, desde a extremidade do céu; o SENHOR e os instrumentos de seu furor, para destruir toda [aquela] terra.
6 Howl ye! for at hand is the day of Yahweh, —As a veritable destruction from the Almighty, shall it come.
Gritai lamentando, pois o dia do SENHOR está perto; vem como assolação pelo Todo-Poderoso.
7 For this cause—All hands, shall hang down, —and Every mortal heart, melt.
Por isso todas as mãos ficarão fracas, e o coração de todos os homens se derreterá.
8 And they shall be in distress—Writhings and pains, shall lay hold, As a woman in childbirth, shall they be in pangs, —Everyone, at his neighbour, shall look in amazement, Faces of flames, their faces!
E ficarão aterrorizados; serão tomados por dores e angústias; sofrerão como mulher com dores de parto; cada um terá medo de seu próximo, seus rostos serão rostos em chamas.
9 Lo! the day of Yahweh, coming in, Fierce and overflowing, and burning with anger, —To devote the earth to desolation, And her sinners, will he destroy out of it.
Eis que o dia do SENHOR vem horrendo, com furor e ira ardente, para pôr a terra em assolação, e destruir os pecadores nela.
10 For the stars of the heavens and their constellations, shall not flash forth their light, —Obscured shall be the sun in his going forth, And the moon, shall not shed her light.
Porque as estrelas dos céus e suas constelações não darão sua luz; o sol se escurecerá ao nascer, e a lua não brilhará com sua luz.
11 And I will visit, upon the inhabited earth, calamity!, And upon the lawless, their punishment, And will quiet the arrogance of the proud, And the loftiness of tyrants, will I lay low.
Porque visitarei para punir sobre o mundo a maldade, e sobre os maus sua perversidade; e porei fim à arrogância dos soberbos, e abaterei o orgulho dos tiranos.
12 I will cause, a man, to be more precious than fine gold, —Even a son of earth than, the finest gold of Ophir.
Farei com que um varão seja mais raro que o ouro maciço, e um homem mais que o ouro fino de Ofir.
13 For this cause, the heavens, will I disturb, And, the earth, shall tremble out of her place, —In the wrath of Yahweh of hosts, And in the day of the glow of his anger.
Por isso farei estremecer aos céus, e a terra se moverá de seu lugar, por causa do furor do SENHOR dos exércitos, e por causa de sua ardente ira.
14 And it shall be—Like a gazelle that is chased, And like a sheep with none to lift it up, —Each, to his own people, will they turn, And, each, to his own land, will they flee:
E será que, como uma corça em fuga, e como uma ovelha que ninguém recolhe, cada um se voltará para seu povo, e cada um fugirá para sua terra.
15 Every one found, shall be thrust through, —And, every one taken, shall fall by the sword;
Qualquer um que for achado, será traspassado; e qualquer um que se juntar a ele cairá pela espada.
16 And, their infants, shall be dashed to the ground, before their eyes, —Plundered shall be, their houses, and their wives ravished.
E suas crianças serão despedaçadas perante seus olhos; suas casas serão saqueadas, e suas mulheres estupradas.
17 Behold me! stirring up against them the Medes, —Who of silver, shall take no account, And as for gold, they shall not delight in it;
Eis que despertarei contra eles aos medos, que não se importarão com a prata, nem desejarão ouro.
18 And, bows, shall dash the young to pieces, —And on the fruit of the womb, will they have no pity, Over children, will their eye throw no shield.
E [com seus] arcos despedaçarão aos rapazes, e não terão piedade do fruto do ventre; o olho deles não terá compaixão das crianças.
19 Thus shall Babylon—The most lovely of kingdoms, The majestic beauty of the Chaldees—Become as in the divine overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Assim será Babilônia, a joia dos reinos, a beleza e o orgulho dos caldeus, semelhante a Sodoma e Gomorra, quando Deus [as] arruinou.
20 It shall not be dwelt in for ever, Neither shall it be inhabited from generation to generation, —Neither shall encamp there, an Arab, Nor, shepherds, fold their flocks there.
Nunca mais será habitada, nem [nela] se morará, de geração em geração; nem o árabe armará ali sua tenda, nem os pastores farão descansar ali [seus] rebanhos.
21 Then shall lie down there, wild beasts, And filled shall be their houses with owls, —Then shall inhabit there, the ostrich, And shaggy creatures, shall dance there.
Mas os animais selvagens do deserto ali descansarão, e suas casas se encherão de animais medonhos; e ali habitarão corujas, e bodes selvagens saltarão ali.
22 And jackals shall answer, in their citadels, And wild dogs, in their voluptuous palaces, —And near to come is her time, And, her days, shall not be delayed.
E as hienas uivarão em suas fortalezas, e chacais em seus confortáveis palácios. Pois está chegando bem perto o seu tempo, e os dias dela não se prolongarão.
