Hosea 8
1 To thy mouth, with a horn! Like an eagle, on the house of Yahweh, —because they have violated my covenant, and, against my law, have they transgressed.
Σάλπισον ταύτα με το στόμα σου· θέλεις ορμήσει ως αετός εναντίον του οίκου του Κυρίου, διότι παρέβησαν την διαθήκην μου και ησέβησαν εις τον νόμον μου.
2 Unto me, shall they make outcry, My God! we acknowledge thee—[we], Israel!
Ο Ισραήλ θέλει κράζει προς εμέ, Θεέ μου, σε γνωρίζομεν.
3 Israel hath cast away what is good, —an enemy, shall pursue him.
Ο Ισραήλ απέρριψε το αγαθόν· ο εχθρός θέλει καταδιώξει αυτόν.
4 They, have appointed kings, but not from me, have made rulers, but I have not acknowledged them: of their silver and their gold, they made themselves idols, to the end they might be cut off.
Αυτοί κατέστησαν βασιλείς, πλην ουχί παρ' εμού· έκαμον άρχοντας, πλην χωρίς να έχω είδησιν· εκ του αργυρίου αυτών και εκ του χρυσίου αυτών έκαμον εις εαυτούς είδωλα, διά να εξολοθρευθώσιν.
5 He hath cast away thy calf, O Samaria, kindled is mine anger upon them, —How long shall they not endure to be innocent?
Απέρριψεν αυτούς ο μόσχος σου, Σαμάρεια· ο θυμός μου εξήφθη εναντίον αυτών· έως πότε δεν θέλουσι δυνηθή να καθαρισθώσι;
6 For, of Israel, is even that thing! A craftsman, made it, and, a No-god, it is! For, into fragments, shall the Calf of Samaria be broken.
Και τούτο βεβαίως έγεινεν υπό του Ισραήλ· ο τεχνίτης έκαμεν αυτό· όθεν αυτό δεν είναι Θεός· ο μόσχος λοιπόν της Σαμαρείας θέλει γείνει συντρίμματα.
7 For, to the wind, they sow, and, to the whirlwind, they reap: stalk, hath it none, That which shooteth forth, shall yield no meal, If so be it yield, foreigners, swallow it lip,
Επειδή έσπειραν άνεμον, διά τούτο θέλουσι θερίσει ανεμοστρόβιλον· δεν έχει κάλαμον· ο βλαστός δεν θέλει δώσει άλευρον· και αν δώση, ξένοι θέλουσι καταπίει αυτό.
8 Swallowed up, is Israel; Now, have they gone among the nations, like a vessel in which no man taketh, delight.
Κατεπόθη ο Ισραήλ· τώρα έγειναν μεταξύ των εθνών ως σκεύος εν ω δεν υπάρχει χάρις.
9 For, they, have gone up to Assyria, A wild ass going alone for himself, is Ephraim! They have hired lovers!
Διότι αφ' εαυτών ανέβησαν εις τους Ασσυρίους, ως όναγρος μονάζων καθ' εαυτόν· ο Εφραΐμ εμίσθωσεν εραστάς.
10 Even though they hire them among the nations, at once, will I gather them, when they have begun to be diminished by reason of the burden of the king of rulers.
Πλην αν και εμίσθωσαν εραστάς μεταξύ των εθνών, τώρα θέλω συνάξει αυτούς· και θέλουσι λυπηθή μετ' ολίγον διά το φορτίον του βασιλέως των αρχόντων.
11 Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars sinfully, they have become to him the altars of sin.
Επειδή ο Εφραΐμ επλήθυνε τα θυσιαστήρια διά να αμαρτάνη, θέλουσι γείνει εις αυτόν θυσιαστήρια του αμαρτάνειν.
12 I have been wont to write for him the myriad things of my law, —Like something alien, have they been accounted.
Έγραψα προς αυτόν τα μεγαλεία του νόμου μου· πλην ελογίσθησαν ως αλλότριον πράγμα.
13 My sacrificial gifts, have they been sacrificing as [common] flesh, and have eaten, Yahweh, hath not accepted them, —Now, will he call to mind their iniquity, that he may punish their sin, they, to Egypt, will return.
Εν ταις θυσίαις, τας οποίας προσφέρουσιν εις εμέ, θυσιάζουσι κρέας και τρώγουσιν· ο Κύριος δεν δέχεται αυτάς· τώρα θέλει ενθυμηθή την ανομίαν αυτών και επισκεφθή τας αμαρτίας αυτών· αυτοί θέλουσιν επιστρέψει εις την Αίγυπτον.
14 And so Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and hath built temples, and, Judah, hath multiplied fortified cities, —Therefore will I send a fire upon his cities, and it shall consume the palaces thereof.
Διότι ο Ισραήλ ελησμόνησε τον Ποιητήν αυτού και οικοδομεί ναούς, και ο Ιούδας επλήθυνεν ωχυρωμένας πόλεις· αλλά θέλω εξαποστείλει πυρ επί τας πόλεις αυτού και θέλει καταφάγει τα παλάτια αυτών.
