Hebrews 12
1 Therefore, indeed, seeing that, we also, have encircling us, so great a cloud of witnesses, stripping off every incumbrance and the easily entangling sin, with endurance, let us be running, the race that is lying before us,
Por esta razón, al estar rodeados por una gran nube de testigos, despojémonos de todo peso y de los pecados que nos asedia tan fácilmente, sigamos corriendo por el camino que tenemos por delante,
2 Looking away unto our faith’s Princely-leader and perfecter, Jesus, —who, in consideration of the joy lying before him, endured a cross, shame, despising! And, on the right hand of the throne of God, hath taken his seat.
Teniendo nuestros ojos fijos en Jesús, el autor y el consumador de nuestra fe, que pasó por los dolores de la cruz, sin preocuparse por la vergüenza, por la alegría que tenía puesta delante de él, y que ahora ha tomado su lugar a la diestra de Dios sede del poder.
3 For take ye into consideration—him who hath endured, such contradiction, by sinners against themselves, lest ye be wearied, in your souls becoming exhausted.
Piensen en aquel que ha sufrido tanta contradicción por parte de los pecadores contra sí mismo, para que no se cansen ni se desanimen.
4 Not yet unto blood, have ye resisted, against sin, waging a contest;
Hasta ahora no han tenido que llegar hasta la muerte en tu lucha contra el pecado:
5 And ye have quite forgotten the exhortation which, indeed, with you as with sons, doth reason: —My son! be not slighting the discipline of the Lord, neither be fainting, when by him, thou art reproved;
Y no has olvidado la exhortación que Dios les aconseja como a hijos suyos, dice en la Escritura: “hijo Mío, no desprecies la corrección del Señor, ni te desanimes cuando te reprende.
6 For, whom the Lord loveth, he doth, discipline, and scourgeth every son whom he doth welcome home.
Porque el Señor corrige a quien él ama. Y castiga aquel a quien recibe como hijo.
7 For the sake of discipline, persevere! As towards sons, God, beareth himself, towards you; for who is a son whom a father doth not discipline?
Si ustedes soportan la disciplina Dios los trata como hijos; porque ¿qué hijo no tiene disciplina de su padre?
8 If however ye are without discipline, whereof, all, have received a share, then, are ye, bastards, and, not sons.
Pero si no tienes ese castigo del cual todos tenemos nuestra parte, entonces no eres verdadero hijo, sino hijo ilegítimo.
9 Furthermore, indeed, the fathers of our flesh, we used to have, as administrators of discipline, and we used to pay deference: shall we not, much rather, submit ourselves to the Father of our spirits and, live?
Y nuevamente, los padres de nuestra carne nos castigaron y tuvieron nuestro respeto, ¿cuánto más nosotros debemos de someternos bajo la autoridad del Padre de los espíritus y tendremos vida?
10 For, they, indeed, for a few days, according to that which seemed good to them, were administering discipline; but, he, unto that which is profitable, with view to our partaking of his holiness:
Porque verdaderamente nos castigaron por poco tiempo, porque les pareció bien; pero Dios lo hace para nuestro beneficio, para que podamos llegar a ser santos como él es.
11 But, no discipline, for the present, indeed, seemeth to be of joy, but of sorrow: afterwards, however—to them who thereby have been trained, it yieldeth peaceful fruit, of righteousness.
En ese momento todo castigo parece ser dolor y no alegría: pero después, aquellos que han sido entrenados por él obtienen de él el fruto de paz y de justicia.
12 Wherefore, the slackened hands and paralysed knees, restore ye,
Por lo cual, levanten las manos que cuelgan, y hagan fuertes las débiles rodillas,
13 And, straight tracks, be making for your feet—that the lame member may not be dislocated, but, be healed rather.
Y pongan caminos rectos para sus pies, para que los débiles no se aparten del camino, sino que se hagan fuerte.
14 Peace, be pursuing, with all, and the obtaining of holiness, —without which no one shall see the Lord:
Sigan la paz con todos los hombres, y la santidad, sin los cuales nadie verá al Señor;
15 Using oversight—lest any one be falling behind from the favour of God, —lest any root of bitterness, springing up above, be causing trouble, and, through it, the many, be defiled:
Mirando con cuidado para ver que ningún hombre entre ustedes en su comportamiento se quede corto de la gracia de Dios; por temor a que una raíz amarga pueda ser un problema entre ustedes, y que algunos de ustedes sean contaminados por ello;
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, like Esau, —who, for the sake of one meal, yielded up his own firstborn rights;
Y que no haya ningún fornicario, ni ningún hombre sin respeto por Dios, como Esaú, que vendió su primogenitura por un plato de comida.
17 For ye know that, afterwards—when he even wished to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; for, place of repentance, found he none, even though, with tears, he diligently sought it.
Porque saben que aun mucho después, cuando deseaba la bendición de su herencia, fue rechazado, aunque hizo su petición con frecuencia y con llanto; porque el pasado no puede ser cambiado.
18 For ye have not approached—unto, a searching and scorching fire, and gloom, and mist, and tempest,
No han venido a un monte que se pueda tocar, y ardía en fuego, oscuridad, tinieblas y tempestad,
19 And a trumpets peal, —and a sound of things spoken: —from which they who heard excused themselves, lest there should be added to them, a word;
Y al sonido de un cuerno, y la voz de las palabras, los oyentes pidieron que ni una palabra más se les hablase:
20 For they could not bear, that which was being enjoined, —and, should a beast be touching the mountain, it shall be stoned;
Porque no podían soportar el mandato que decía: Si la montaña es tocada por una bestia, la bestia será apedreada, o con lanza;
21 And, so fearful was that which was showing itself, Moses, said—I am terrified, and do tremble!
Y la visión era tan abrumadora que incluso Moisés dijo: Estoy temblando y lleno de temor.
22 But ye have approached—unto Zion’s mountain, and unto the city of a Living God, a heavenly Jerusalem, —and unto myriads of messengers,
Pero has venido al monte de Sión, al lugar del Dios viviente, a la Jerusalén celestial, y a un ejército de ángeles que no pueden ser contados,
23 in high festival, —and unto an assembly of firstborn ones, enrolled in the heavens, —and unto God, judge of all, —and unto the spirits of righteous ones made perfect, —
A la gran reunión y a la iglesia del primero de aquellos que son nombrados en el cielo, y para Dios el juez de todos, y para los espíritus de hombres buenos hechos perfectos,
24 And unto the mediator of a new covenant, Jesus, —and unto the blood of sprinkling, more excellently speaking, than, Abel.
Y a Jesús mediador del nuevo pacto entre Dios y el hombre, y la sangre con la que hemos sido purificados la cual dice cosas mejores que la sangre de Abel.
25 Beware, lest ye excuse yourselves from him that speaketh; for, if, they escaped not, who excused themselves from him who on earth was warning, how much less, shall, we, who from him that warneth from the heavens, do turn ourselves away:
Mira que no rechaces y escucha la voz de quien nos habla. Porque si aquellos cuyos oídos estaban cerrados a la voz que les vino en la tierra no se liberaron del castigo, ¿qué posibilidades tenemos de liberarnos si no le prestamos atención a aquel cuya voz proviene del cielo?
26 Whose voice shook the earth, then, but, now, hath he promised, saying—Yet once for all, I, will shake—not only the earth, but, also the heaven.
Cuya voz fue la causa de la sacudida de la tierra; pero ahora él ha hecho un juramento, diciendo: Todavía habrá una vez más un temblor, no solo de la tierra, sino del cielo.
27 But, the saying, Yet once for all, maketh clear the removal of the things which can be shaken, as of things done with, —that they may remain, which cannot be shaken.
Y las palabras, “una vez más”, dejan en claro que se quitarán aquellas cosas que son movibles, como las cosas que están hechas, de modo que puede haber sólo aquellas cosas inconmovibles.
28 Wherefore, seeing that, of a kingdom not to be shaken, we are receiving possession, let us have gratitude—whereby we may be rendering divine service well-pleasingly unto God, with reverence and awe;
Entonces, si tenemos un reino que nunca será movido, tengamos gratitud, para que le demos a Dios la adoración que le agrada con temor y respeto:
29 For, even our God, is a consuming fire.
Porque nuestro Dios es un fuego que todo lo consume.
