Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first of the month, came the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and unto Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, saying:
El año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, el día primero del mes, llegó la palabra de Yahvé por medio del profeta Ageo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y a Jesús, hijo del Sumo Sacerdote Josedec, en estos términos:
2 Thus, speaketh Yahweh of hosts, saying, —This people, have said, Not yet hath come the time for the house of Yahweh to be built.
“Así habla Yahvé de los ejércitos: Este pueblo dice: «No ha llegado aún el tiempo; el tiempo de reedificar la Casa de Yahvé».”
3 Therefore hath come the word of Yahweh by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
Entonces habló Yahvé, por medio del profeta Ageo, diciendo:
4 Is it a time that, ye yourselves, should be dwelling in your own paneled houses? and, this house, be in ruins?
“¿Ha llegado acaso para vosotros el tiempo de habitar en vuestras casas artesonadas, en tanto que esta Casa está en ruinas?
5 Now, therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart unto your own experience—
Pues, así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Reflexionad sobre vuestro proceder.
6 Ye have sown much, but have brought in little, have eaten, and not been filled, have drunk, and not been satisfied with drink, have clothed you, and none hath been warm, —and, he that hath hired himself out, hath put his wages into a bag with holes.
Habéis sembrado mucho, y recogido poco; coméis, y no os hartáis; bebéis, y no apagáis la sed; os vestís, y no os calentáis; el que gana salario, lo echa en saco roto.
7 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart to your own experience:
Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Reflexionad sobre vuestro proceder.
8 Ascend the mountain—and bring in wood and build the house, —that I may be pleased therewith and get myself glory, saith Yahweh.
Subid al monte, traed maderas y reedificad la Casa, y Yo me complaceré en ella y seré glorificado, dice Yahvé.
9 When ye looked for much, then lo! it came to little, when ye brought it home, then I did blow into it, — Because of what? Demandeth Yahweh of hosts, Because of my house, the which is in ruins, while ye keep running every man to his own house.
Esperabais mucho, y he aquí que (cosechasteis) poco; y lo trajisteis a casa, mas Yo soplé en ello. ¿Por qué?, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos. Porque mi Casa está en ruinas, mientras cada uno de vosotros se da prisa para (reconstruir) su propia casa.
10 Wherefore—on your account, have the heavens, held back, dew, — and, the earth, held back her fruit;
Por eso, por vuestra culpa el cielo detiene el rocío, y la tierra no da su fruto.
11 And I have called for drought, upon the land and upon the mountains, and upon the corn and upon the new wine and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground, bringeth forth, —and upon man, and upon beast, and upon all the labour of the hands.
Pues Yo llamé la sequía sobre la tierra; sobre los montes y sobre el trigo; sobre el mosto y sobre el aceite; sobre cuanto produce la tierra; sobre los nombres y sobre las bestias, y sobre toda labor de manos.
12 Then hearkened Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of Yahweh their God, and unto the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God, had sent him, —and the people, stood in awe, before Yahweh.
Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y el Sumo Sacerdote Jesús, hijo de Josedec, y todo el resto del pueblo, escucharon la voz de Yahvé, su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Ageo, todo lo que Yahvé, su Dios, le había encargado decir; y el pueblo temió a Yahvé.
13 Then spake Haggai the messenger of Yahweh, in the message of Yahweh, to the people saying, —I, am with you, Declareth Yahweh.
Entonces Ageo, enviado de Dios, habló por orden de Yahvé al pueblo, diciendo: “Yo estoy con vosotros”, dice Yahvé.
14 Thus did Yahweh, stir up—the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and the spirit of Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, —and they came in and did service in the house of Yahweh of hosts their God:
Y despertó Yahvé el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y el espíritu de Jesús, hijo del Sumo Sacerdote Josedec, y el espíritu de todo el resto del pueblo; y vinieron y trabajaron en la reconstrucción de la Casa de Yahvé de los ejércitos, su Dios.
15 on the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, —in the second year of Darius the king.
Era el día veinticuatro del mes sexto del segundo año del rey Darío.
