Haggai 2
1 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, came the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
Εν τω εβδόμω μηνί, τη εικοστή πρώτη του μηνός, έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου δι' Αγγαίου του προφήτου, λέγων,
2 Speak, I pray thee, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and unto Jehoshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, —and unto the remnant of the people, saying: —
Λάλησον τώρα προς Ζοροβάβελ τον υιόν του Σαλαθιήλ, τον διοικητήν του Ιούδα, και προς Ιησούν τον υιόν του Ιωσεδέκ, τον ιερέα τον μέγαν, και προς το υπόλοιπον του λαού, λέγων,
3 Who is there among you that is left, that saw this house, in its former glory? And how do ye see it now? Is it not, in comparison with that, as nothing, in your eyes?
Τις μεταξύ σας έμεινεν, όστις είδε τον οίκον τούτον εν τη πρώτη αυτού δόξη; και οποίον τώρα σεις βλέπετε αυτόν; δεν είναι εις τους οφθαλμούς σας ως ουδέν, συγκρινόμενος προς εκείνον;
4 Now, therefore—Be strong, O Zerubbabel, urgeth Yahweh, and be strong, O Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and be strong, all ye people of the land, urgeth Yahweh, and work; For, I, am with you, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
Πλην ενδυναμού τώρα, Ζοροβάβελ, λέγει Κύριος, και ενδυναμού, Ιησού, υιέ του Ιωσεδέκ, ο ιερεύς ο μέγας, και ενδυναμού, πας ο λαός του τόπου, λέγει Κύριος, και εργάζεσθε· διότι εγώ είμαι με σας, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
5 The very thing that I solemnized with you, when ye came forth out of the land of Egypt, That, my spirit abiding in your midst, ye should not fear.
Κατά τον λόγον της προς εσάς διαθήκης μου, ότε εξήλθετε εξ Αιγύπτου, το πνεύμά μου θέλει μένει μεταξύ σας· μη φοβείσθε.
6 For, thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Yet once, a little, it is, —and I am shaking the heavens and the earth, and the sea and the dry land;
Διότι ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Έτι άπαξ μετ' ολίγον εγώ θέλω σείσει τον ουρανόν και την γην και την θάλασσαν και την ξηράν.
7 And I will shake all the nations, and the delight of all the nations, shall come in, —and I will fill this house with glory, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Και θέλω σείσει πάντα τα έθνη, και θέλει ελθεί ο εκλεκτός πάντων των εθνών, και θέλω εμπλήσει τον οίκον τούτον δόξης, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
8 Mine is the silver and Mine the gold, Declareth Yahweh of hosts:
Εμού είναι το αργύριον και εμού το χρυσίον, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
9 Greater shall be the last glory of this house than the first, saith Yahweh of hosts, —and, in this place, will I give prosperity, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
Η δόξα του εσχάτου τούτου οίκου θέλει είσθαι μεγαλητέρα της του πρώτου, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· και εν τω τόπω τούτω θέλω δώσει ειρήνην, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
10 On the twenty-fourth of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Yahweh unto Haggai the prophet, saying:
Εν τη εικοστή τετάρτη του εννάτου μηνός, εν τω δευτέρω έτει του Δαρείου, έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου δι' Αγγαίου του προφήτου, λέγων,
11 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —I pray you, ask the priests a direction, saying:
Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Ερώτησον τώρα τους ιερείς περί του νόμου, λέγων,
12 If a man carry holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and then toucheth with his skirt bread or a cooked dish or wine or oil or any food, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
Εάν λάβη τις κρέας άγιον εν τω άκρω του ιματίου αυτού και διά του άκρου αυτού εγγίση άρτον ή μαγείρευμα ή οίνον ή έλαιον ή παν φαγητόν, θέλει αγιασθή; Και οι ιερείς απεκρίθησαν και είπον, Ουχί.
13 Then said Haggai, If one who is defiled for a dead person touch any of these, shall it be defiled? And the priests answered and said, It shall be defiled.
Και είπεν ο Αγγαίος, Εάν ακάθαρτος από νεκρού σώματος εγγίση τι εξ αυτών, θέλει μιανθή; Και οι ιερείς απεκρίθησαν και είπον, Θέλει μιανθή.
14 Then answered Haggai and said, So, is this people and, so, is this nation before me, Declareth Yahweh, and, so, is every work of their hands, —therefore, whatsoever they offer there, is, defiled.
Και απεκρίθη ο Αγγαίος και είπεν, Ούτως είναι ο λαός ούτος και ούτω το έθνος τούτο ενώπιόν μου, λέγει ο Κύριος, και ούτω παν έργον των χειρών αυτών· και ό, τι προσφέρουσιν εκεί, είναι μεμιασμένον.
15 Now, therefore, I pray you apply your heart, from this day and upwards, —So long as there had not been laid one stone upon another in the temple of Yahweh,
Και τώρα λοιπόν συλλογίσθητε· από της ημέρας ταύτης και επέκεινα, πριν τεθή λίθος επί λίθον εν τω ναώ του Κυρίου,
16 So long were things thus, that, on coming unto a heap of twenty, then was it found to be ten, —on coming unto the vat to draw off fifty measures, then were there found to be twenty.
πριν γείνωσι ταύτα, επορεύετό τις εις σωρόν είκοσι μέτρων και ήσαν δέκα· επορεύετο εις τον ληνόν διά να εξαντλήση πεντήκοντα μέτρα από του ληνού, και ήσαν είκοσι.
17 I smote you with blight and with mildew and with hail, in all the work of your hands, —Yet ye did not return unto me, Declareth Yahweh.
Σας επάταξα με ανεμοφθορίαν και με ερυσίβην και με χάλαζαν εν πάσι τοις έργοις των χειρών σας· πλην σεις δεν επεστρέψατε προς εμέ, λέγει Κύριος.
18 Apply your heart, I pray you, from this day and upwards, —from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day when was founded the temple of Yahweh, apply your heart:
Συλλογίσθητε τώρα· από της ημέρας ταύτης και επέκεινα, από της εικοστής τετάρτης ημέρας του εννάτου μηνός από της ημέρας καθ' ην εθεμελιώθη ο ναός του Κυρίου, συλλογίσθητε.
19 Is the seed yet in the store-house? Howbeit, though at present neither, the vine nor the fig-tree nor the pomegranate nor the olive tree, hath brought forth, from this very day, will I bless you.
Είναι ο σπόρος έτι εν τη αποθήκη; έτι και η άμπελος και η συκή και η ροϊδία και η ελαία δεν εκαρποφόρησαν· από της ημέρας ταύτης θέλω ευλογήσει αυτά.
20 Then came the word of Yahweh, the second time unto Haggai, on the twenty-fourth of the month, saying:
Και έγεινε πάλιν λόγος Κυρίου προς τον Αγγαίον τη εικοστή τετάρτη του μηνός λέγων,
21 Speak thou unto Zerubbabel, pasha of Judah, saying, —I am shaking, the heavens and the earth;
Λάλησον προς Ζοροβάβελ, τον διοικητήν του Ιούδα, λέγων, Εγώ σείω τον ουρανόν και την γήν·
22 And I will overturn the throne of kingdoms, and will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, —and I will overturn the chariots and them who ride therein, and horses and their riders, shall come down, every man by the sword of his brother.
και θέλω καταστρέψει τον θρόνον των βασιλείων και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει το κράτος των βασιλείων των εθνών· και θέλω καταστρέψει αμάξας και τους αναβάτας αυτών, και οι ίπποι και οι αναβάται αυτών θέλουσι πέσει, έκαστος διά της ρομφαίας του αδελφού αυτού.
23 On that day, declareth Yahweh of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel—my servant, declareth Yahweh, and will set thee as a signet-ring; For, thee, have I chosen, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
Εν τη ημέρα εκείνη, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, θέλω λάβει σε, Ζοροβάβελ, τον δούλον μου, τον υιόν του Σαλαθιήλ, λέγει Κύριος, και θέλω σε θέσει ως σφραγίδα, διότι σε εξέλεξα, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
