Haggai 2
1 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, came the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
Im siebenten, am einundzwanzigsten des Monats geschah das Wort Jehovahs durch die Hand Chaggais, des Propheten, und Er sprach:
2 Speak, I pray thee, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and unto Jehoshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, —and unto the remnant of the people, saying: —
Sprich doch zu Serubbabel, dem Sohn Schealthiels, dem Statthalter Jehudahs, und zu Jehoschua, dem Sohn Jehozadaks, dem Hohenpriester, und zu dem Überrest des Volkes und sprich:
3 Who is there among you that is left, that saw this house, in its former glory? And how do ye see it now? Is it not, in comparison with that, as nothing, in your eyes?
Wer ist unter euch übriggeblieben, der dieses Haus in seiner ersten Herrlichkeit gesehen hat? Und wie seht ihr es jetzt? Ist es nicht im Vergleich wie nichts in euren Augen?
4 Now, therefore—Be strong, O Zerubbabel, urgeth Yahweh, and be strong, O Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and be strong, all ye people of the land, urgeth Yahweh, and work; For, I, am with you, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
Und nun sei stark, Serubbabel, spricht Jehovah, und sei stark, Jehoschua, Sohn Jehozadaks, du Hoherpriester, und sei stark, alles Volk des Landes, spricht Jehovah, und macht es; denn Ich bin mit euch, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.
5 The very thing that I solemnized with you, when ye came forth out of the land of Egypt, That, my spirit abiding in your midst, ye should not fear.
Mit dem Worte, mit dem Ich mit euch abgeschlossen, da ihr aus Ägypten auszogt, und mit Meinem Geiste, der in eurer Mitte steht, fürchtet euch nicht!
6 For, thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Yet once, a little, it is, —and I am shaking the heavens and the earth, and the sea and the dry land;
Denn so spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Noch ein Kleines ist es, so lasse Ich die Himmel und die Erde erbeben und das Meer und das Trockene.
7 And I will shake all the nations, and the delight of all the nations, shall come in, —and I will fill this house with glory, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Und Ich lasse alle Völkerschaften erbeben, daß komme die Begehr aller Völkerschaften, und Ich erfülle dieses Haus mit Herrlichkeit, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.
8 Mine is the silver and Mine the gold, Declareth Yahweh of hosts:
Mein ist das Silber und Mein das Gold, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.
9 Greater shall be the last glory of this house than the first, saith Yahweh of hosts, —and, in this place, will I give prosperity, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
Größer wird sein die Herrlichkeit dieses späteren Hauses als die des ersten, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, und an diesem Orte will Ich Frieden geben, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.
10 On the twenty-fourth of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Yahweh unto Haggai the prophet, saying:
Am vierundzwanzigsten des neunten im zweiten Jahr des Darius geschah das Wort Jehovahs durch die Hand Chaggais, des Propheten, und sprach:
11 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —I pray you, ask the priests a direction, saying:
So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Frage doch die Priester über das Gesetz und sprich:
12 If a man carry holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and then toucheth with his skirt bread or a cooked dish or wine or oil or any food, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
Siehe, ein Mann trägt Fleisch der Heiligkeit im Zipfel seines Kleides und berührt mit seinem Zipfel Brot und Gekochtes, und Wein und Öl, und irgendwelche Speise, wird es geheiligt? Und die Priester antworteten und sprachen: Nein.
13 Then said Haggai, If one who is defiled for a dead person touch any of these, shall it be defiled? And the priests answered and said, It shall be defiled.
Und Chaggai sprach: Wo aber ein durch eine Seele Unreiner dieser irgendeines anrührt, wird es unrein? Und die Priester antworteten und sprachen: Es wird unrein.
14 Then answered Haggai and said, So, is this people and, so, is this nation before me, Declareth Yahweh, and, so, is every work of their hands, —therefore, whatsoever they offer there, is, defiled.
Und Chaggai antwortete und sprach: So ist dies Volk und so ist diese Völkerschaft vor Meinem Angesicht, spricht Jehovah, und so alles Tun ihrer Hände, und was sie allda darbringen, ist unrein.
15 Now, therefore, I pray you apply your heart, from this day and upwards, —So long as there had not been laid one stone upon another in the temple of Yahweh,
Und nun richtet doch euer Herz darauf von dem Tage an und weiter: Ehe man Stein legt auf Stein am Tempel Jehovahs;
16 So long were things thus, that, on coming unto a heap of twenty, then was it found to be ten, —on coming unto the vat to draw off fifty measures, then were there found to be twenty.
Vor diesem, kam man zum Kornhaufen von zwanzigen, so waren es zehn; kam man zur Kufe, um fünfzig zu schöpfen aus der Kelter, so waren es zwanzig.
17 I smote you with blight and with mildew and with hail, in all the work of your hands, —Yet ye did not return unto me, Declareth Yahweh.
Ich schlug euch mit Kornbrand, und mit Vergilbung und mit Hagel in allem Tun eurer Hände; und doch wollt ihr nicht zu Mir, spricht Jehovah.
18 Apply your heart, I pray you, from this day and upwards, —from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day when was founded the temple of Yahweh, apply your heart:
So richtet euer Herz darauf von diesem Tage an und weiter, vom vierundzwanzigsten des neunten, von dem Tage an, da der Tempel Jehovahs gegründet ward, darauf richtet euer Herz.
19 Is the seed yet in the store-house? Howbeit, though at present neither, the vine nor the fig-tree nor the pomegranate nor the olive tree, hath brought forth, from this very day, will I bless you.
Ist nicht die Saat noch in dem Speicher? Und bis auf den Weinstock und den Feigenbaum und den Granatbaum und den Baum der Oliven, die nicht getragen, will Ich segnen von diesem Tage an.
20 Then came the word of Yahweh, the second time unto Haggai, on the twenty-fourth of the month, saying:
Und es geschah das Wort Jehovahs zum zweitenmal an Chaggai am vierundzwanzigsten des Monats, und Er sprach:
21 Speak thou unto Zerubbabel, pasha of Judah, saying, —I am shaking, the heavens and the earth;
Sprich zu Serubbabel, dem Statthalter Jehudahs, und sage: Ich lasse erbeben die Himmel und die Erde,
22 And I will overturn the throne of kingdoms, and will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, —and I will overturn the chariots and them who ride therein, and horses and their riders, shall come down, every man by the sword of his brother.
Und kehre um den Thron von Königreichen, und vernichte die Stärke der Königreiche der Völkerschaften, und kehre um die Streitwagen und die darin fahren; und das Roß und dessen Reiter sollen herabstürzen, der Mann durch das Schwert seines Bruders.
23 On that day, declareth Yahweh of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel—my servant, declareth Yahweh, and will set thee as a signet-ring; For, thee, have I chosen, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
An diesem Tage, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, nehme Ich dich, Serubbabel, Sohn Schealthiels, meinen Knecht, spricht Jehovah, und setze dich, wie den Siegelring; denn dich habe Ich erwählt, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.
