Habakkuk 2
1 Upon my watch-tower, will I stand, and will station myself upon the bulwark, —so will I keep outlook, to see—what he will speak with me, and what I shall reply, when I am reproved.
Ich stehe auf meiner Hut, und habe mich auf die Festung gestellt und spähe, um zu sehen, was Er in mir will reden, und was ich erwidern soll in meiner Rüge.
2 Then Yahweh answered me, and said, Write the vision, Yea, make it plain on tablets, that one may swiftly read it;
Und Jehovah antwortete mir und sprach: Schreibe das Gesicht und grabe es auf Tafeln ein, daß es durchlaufe, wer es liest.
3 For yet is the vision for an appointed time, still, it presseth towards an end, and will not deceive, —if it tarry, wait thou for it, for it, surely cometh, —will not be too late.
Denn das Gesicht ist noch auf eine bestimmte Zeit und wird ausgesprochen am Ende und täuscht nicht. Wenn es säumt, so harre darauf, denn es kommt gewißlich und zögert nicht.
4 Lo! as for the conceited one, crooked is his soul within him, - but, one who is righteous, by his faithfulness, shall live.
Siehe, wer aufgetrieben ist, dessen Seele handelt nicht redlich in ihm; aber der Gerechte lebt in seinem Glauben.
5 Moreover also, when wine betrayeth, a man, is arrogant, and findeth no rest, —because he hath enlarged, like hades, his desire, yea, he, is like death, and cannot be satisfied, —but hath gathered unto himself, all the nations, and assembled unto himself, all the peoples. (Sheol h7585)
Und ebenso wie der Wein berückt, so ist der übermütige Mann, und er verweilt nicht und macht breit wie die Hölle seine Seele, und ist wie der Tod und wird nicht satt, und versammelt zu sich alle Völkerschaften, und bringt zu sich zusammen alle Völker. (Sheol h7585)
6 Shall not, these, all of them, against him, take up—a taunt, a mocking poem, enigmatical sentences—concerning him? And say—Alas! for him who maketh abundance in what is not his own, How long? that he should be burdening himself with heavy debts?
Werden nicht alle diese einen Spruch erheben über ihn, und ein Spottlied, Rätsel über ihn, und sprechen: Wehe dem, der mehret was sein nicht ist. Wie lange? und er beschwert sich mit dichtem Kot.
7 Will not thy creditors, suddenly rise up? and they who shall violently shake thee, all at once become active? Then shalt thou serve for booties, unto them!
Werden nicht unversehens aufstehen, die dich beißen, und erwachen, die dich verschütteln, und du wirst ihnen zur Plünderung?
8 Because, thou, hast plundered many nations, all the residue of the peoples, shall plunder thee, —for shedding Human blood, and doing violence to the earth, to the city, and to all who dwell therein.
Denn du hast viele Völkerschaften ausgebeutet, alle die übrigen Völker sollen dich ausbeuten, ob dem Blute des Menschen, und der Gewalttat am Lande, an der Hauptstadt und allen, die darin wohnen.
9 Alas! for him who extorteth an extortion of wrong for his own house, —that he may set on high his nest, that he may be delivered from the grasp of calamity.
Wehe ihm, der nach bösem Gewinn geizt für sein Haus, um in die Höhe sein Nest zu setzen, auf daß er sich errette von des Bösen Hand.
10 Thou hast counseled shame to thy house—making an end of many peoples, and endangering thine own life.
Schande hast du deinem Haus beraten, daß du so viele Völker hast abgeschnitten und dich versündigt an deiner Seele.
11 Surely, the stone out of the wall, will make outcry, —and, the tie out of the timber, will answer it.
Denn der Stein schreit von der Wand, und ihm antwortet der Sparren von dem Holzwerk.
12 Alas! for him who buildeth a city with deeds of blood, —and establisheth a town with perversity.
Wehe dem, der die Stadt mit Blut baut, und die Hauptstadt mit Verkehrtheit festigt.
13 Lo! is it not from Yahweh of hosts—that peoples labour for fire, and, populations, for emptiness, weary themselves?
Ist es nicht so? Siehe, von Jehovah der Heerscharen geschieht es, daß Völker sich für das Feuer müde machen, und Volksstämme sich abmatten für das Leere.
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, —as, the waters, cover the sea.
Denn voll wird werden die Erde von der Erkenntnis der Herrlichkeit Jehovahs, wie die Wasser sich decken über das Meer.
15 Alas! for him who causeth his neighbour to drink, from the goblet of thy fury, and also, making him drunk, —to the end thou mayest gloat over their parts of shame.
Wehe dem, der seinen Genossen trinken läßt, der du aus deinem Schlauche einschenkst, und ihn auch berauschest, um auf ihre Blöße zu blicken.
16 Thou art sated with contempt, more than glory, drink, thou too, and expose thy person, —the cup of the right hand of Yahweh, shall come round unto thee, and ignominious filth be upon thy glory;
Satt wirst du an Unehre werden statt an Herrlichkeit. Trinke auch du und zeige die Vorhaut. Umgehen zu dir wird der Becher der Rechten Jehovahs, und Gespei der Unehre über deine Herrlichkeit.
17 For, the violence [done] to Lebanon, shall cover thee, and wasting by wild beasts shall cause them terror, —for shedding Human blood, and doing violence to the earth, to the city, and to all who dwell therein.
Denn die Gewalttat des Libanon wird dich bedecken, und die Verheerung der Tiere sie entsetzen, ob dem Blute der Menschen und der Gewalttat am Lande, an der Hauptstadt und an allen, die darin wohnen.
18 What hath a carved image, profited, though the fashioner thereof, carved it? a molten image, and a teacher of falsehood, —though the fashioner of his fashioned thing trusted therein? that men should make Dumb Nonentities!
Was nützt das Schnitzbild, daß sein Bildner es schnitzte, das Gußbild und der Lüge Unterweiser, daß seines Bildes Bildner ihm vertraut und macht stumme Götzen?
19 Alas! for him who saith to wood, Awake, bestir thee! to a silent stone, he, shall teach! Though he is overlaid with gold and silver, yet, no spirit whatsoever, is in him!
Wehe dem, der zum Holze spricht: Erwache!, zum stillen Stein: Wache auf! Er soll dich unterweisen! Siehe, in Gold und Silber ist es gefaßt, aber kein Geist ist in seinem Inneren.
20 Howbeit, Yahweh, is in his holy temple, —Hush before him, all the earth.
Aber Jehovah ist im Tempel Seiner Heiligkeit. Stille sei vor Seinem Angesicht die ganze Erde.
