< Genesis 7 >

1 And Yahweh said to Noah, Enter thou and all thy house, into the ark, —for, thee, have I seen righteous before me, in this generation.
The Lord told Noah, “Go into the ark with all your family. I have seen how you are a man of integrity, living a moral life among the people of this generation.
2 Of all the clean beasts, shalt thou take to thee by sevens, a male and his female, —and, of the beasts that are not clean, shall be two a male and his female.
Take with you seven pairs, male and female, of every kind of clean animal, and one pair, male and female, of every kind of unclean animal.
3 Also of the bird of the heavens, by sevens, male and female, —to keep alive a seed on the face of all the earth.
In addition take seven pairs, male and female, of all the birds, so their different kinds will survive throughout the earth.
4 For in seven days more, I, am sending rain on the earth, forty days and forty nights, —so will I wipe out all the living things which I have made, from off the face of the ground.
In seven days I'm going to make it rain for forty days and nights. I'm going to wipe out from the surface of the earth all the living creatures I made.”
5 And Noah did, —according to all that Yahweh commanded him.
Noah did exactly what the Lord ordered him to do.
6 Now, Noah, was six hundred years old, —when, the flood, came, even waters on the earth.
Noah was 600 when the flood waters covered the earth.
7 So Noah entered, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him into the ark, —from before the waters of the flood,
Noah went into the ark, taking with him his wife and his sons and their wives, because of the flood.
8 Of the beasts that were clean, and of the beasts that were not clean, —and of the birds, and everything that creepeth on the ground,
Clean and unclean animals, birds, and creatures that run along the ground,
9 two and two, went they in unto Noah, into the ark male and female, —as God commanded Noah.
went into the ark with Noah. They came in pairs, male and female, just as God had told Noah.
10 And it came to pass, in the seven days, —that the waters of the flood, came on the earth.
After seven days the floodwaters swept over the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year, the year of the life of Noah. in the second month on the seventeenth day of the month on this day, were burst open all the fountains of the great roaring deep, and the windows of the heavens, were set open.
Noah was 600 when on the seventeenth day of the second month all the subterranean waters burst through the earth, and heavy rain poured down from the sky.
12 (And it came to pass that the heavy rain was on the earth, —forty days and forty nights.)
Rain continue to fall on the earth for forty days and nights.
13 On this selfsame day, entered Noah, and Shem and Ham and Japheth. Noah’s sons, —and Noah’s wife, and his sons’ three wives with them into the ark:
That was the actual day when Noah, his wife, and their sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth together with their three wives went into the ark.
14 they, and all the wild-beasts after their kind and all the tame-beasts after their kind, and all the creeping things that creep on the earth after their kind, —and all the birds after their kind, every bird of every wing.
They had with them every kind of wild animals, livestock, creatures that run along the ground, and birds—everything with wings.
15 So they entered in unto Noah, into the ark, —two and two of all flesh, wherein was the spirit of life.
They all came into the ark with Noah in pairs—every living thing that breathes.
16 And, they that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered, as God commanded him, —and Yahweh shut him in round about.
A male and a female of every creature entered, as God had told Noah. Then the Lord shut the door behind him.
17 And it came to pass, that the flood was forty days on the earth, —and the waters increased and bare up the ark, and it was lifted high above the earth,
The flood increased for forty days, lifting the ark so that it floated up from the earth.
18 And the waters prevailed and increased greatly, on the earth, —and the ark went its way on the face of the waters.
The floodwaters surged and grew deeper and deeper over the earth, but the ark floated along on the surface.
19 Yea the waters, prevailed very greatly, on the earth, —so that all the high mountains became covered, that were under all the heavens:
Finally the water grew so deep that even the highest mountains were covered—all that could be seen was sky.
20 fifteen cubits upwards, prevailed the waters, so that the mountains became covered.
The water rose so much that it was higher than the mountains by fifteen cubits.
21 And all flesh ceased to breathe that moved on the earth, of birds and of tame-beasts and of wild-beasts, and of all the swarming things that swarm on the earth, —and all mankind.
Everything living on earth died—the birds, livestock, wild animals, all creatures that run along the ground, and all the people.
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life of all that were on the dry ground died.
Everything on land that breathed, died.
23 Thus was wiped out all that existed on the face of the ground, from man unto beast unto creeping thing, and unto the bird of the heavens, thus were they wiped out from the earth, —so that there was left—only Noah and they that were with him in the ark.
The Lord wiped out all life on earth—people, livestock, creatures that run along the ground, and birds. All were killed. The only ones left were Noah and those with him on the ark.
24 Thus prevailed the waters on the earth, —a hundred and fifty days.
The earth remained flooded for 150 days.
