Genesis 6

1 And it came to pass when men had begun to multiply on the face of the ground and daughters had been born to them,

Και ότε ήρχισαν οι άνθρωποι να πληθύνωνται επί του προσώπου της γης, και θυγατέρες εγεννήθησαν εις αυτούς,

2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men! that they were, fair, —so they took to themselves wives of whomsoever they chose,

ιδόντες οι υιοί του Θεού τας θυγατέρας των ανθρώπων, ότι ήσαν ώραίαι, έλαβον εις εαυτούς γυναίκας εκ πασών όσας έκλεξαν.

3 And Yahweh said—My spirit shall not rule in man to times age—abiding, for that, he also, is flesh, —Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

Και είπε Κύριος, Δεν θέλει καταμείνει πάντοτε το πνεύμά μου μετά του ανθρώπου, διότι είναι σάρξ· αι ημέραι αυτού θέλουσιν είσθαι ακόμη εκατόν είκοσι έτη.

4 The giants, were in the earth in those days, and also, after that, when the sons of God began to go in unto the daughters of men, and sons were born to them, the same, were the heroes that were from age-past times the men of renown.

Κατ' εκείνας τας ημέρας ήσαν οι γίγαντες επί της γης, και έτι, ύστερον, αφού οι υιοί του Θεού εισήλθον εις τας θυγατέρας των ανθρώπων, και αύται ετεκνοποίησαν εις αυτούς· εκείνοι ήσαν οι δυνατοί, οι έκπαλαι άνδρες ονομαστοί.

5 Then Yahweh saw that great, was the wickedness of man in the earth, and that, every purpose of the devices of his heart, was only wicked all the day;

Και είδεν ο Κύριος ότι επληθύνετο η κακία του ανθρώπου επί της γης, και πάντες οι σκοποί των διαλογισμών της καρδίας αυτού ήσαν μόνον κακία πάσας τας ημέρας.

6 and it grieved Yahweh, that he had made man in the earth, —and he took sorrow unto his heart.

Και μετεμελήθη ο Κύριος ότι εποίησε τον άνθρωπον επί της γης. και ελυπήθη εν τη καρδία αυτού.

7 And Yahweh said—I must wipe off man whom I created from off the face of the ground, from man unto beast unto creeping thing, and unto the bird of the heavens, —for I am grieved that I made them.

Και είπεν ο Κύριος, Θέλω εξαλείψει τον άνθρωπον, τον οποίον εποίησα, από προσώπου της γής· από ανθρώπου έως κτήνους, έως ερπετού, και έως πτηνού του ουρανού· επειδή μετεμελήθην ότι εποίησα αυτούς.

8 But, Noah, had found favour in the eyes, of Yahweh.

Ο δε Νώε εύρε χάριν ενώπιον Κυρίου.

9 These, are the generations of Noah, Noah, was, a righteous man blameless, in his generations, —with God, did Noah walk.

Αύτη είναι η γενεαλογία του Νώε. Ο Νώε ήτο άνθρωπος δίκαιος, τέλειος μεταξύ των συγχρόνων αυτού· μετά του Θεού περιεπάτησεν ο Νώε.

10 And Noah begat three sons, —Shem, Ham and Japheth.

Και εγέννησεν ο Νώε τρεις υιούς, τον Σημ, τον Χαμ και τον Ιάφεθ.

11 And the earth corrupted itself before God, —and the earth was filled with violence,

Διεφθάρη δε η γη ενώπιον του Θεού, και ενεπλήσθη η γη αδικίας.

12 And God beheld the earth, and lo! it had corrupted itself, —surely all flesh had corrupted its way, on the earth.

Και είδεν ο Θεός την γην, και ιδού, ήτο διεφθαρμένη· διότι πάσα σαρξ είχε διαφθείρει την οδόν αυτής επί της γης.

13 So God said unto Noah: the end of all flesh, hath come in before me, for, filled, is the earth with violence, because of them, —behold me, then, destroying them with the earth.

Και είπεν ο Θεός προς τον Νώε, Το τέλος πάσης σαρκός ήλθεν ενώπιόν μου, διότι η γη ενεπλήσθη αδικίας απ' αυτών· και ιδού, θέλω εξολοθρεύσει αυτούς και την γην.

14 Make for thee an ark of timbers of gopher, rooms, shalt thou make with the ark, —and thou shalt cover it within and without with pitch.

Κάμε εις σεαυτόν κιβωτόν εκ ξύλων Γόφερ· κατά δωμάτια θέλεις κάμει την κιβωτόν, και θέλεις αλείψει αυτήν έσωθεν και έξωθεν με πίσσαν.

15 And, this, is how thou shalt make it, —three hundred cubits, the length of the ark, fifty cubits, the breadth thereof, and thirty cubits the height thereof.

Και ούτω θέλεις κάμει αυτήν· το μεν μήκος της κιβωτού θέλει είσθαι τριακοσίων πηχών, το δε πλάτος αυτής πεντήκοντα πηχών, και το ύψος αυτής τριάκοντα πηχών.

16 A place for light, shalt thou make to the ark and to a cubit, shalt thou finish it upwards, and the opening of the ark—in the side thereof, shalt thou put, —with lower, second and third stories, shalt thou make it.

Στέγην θέλεις κάμει εις την κιβωτόν, και εις πήχην θέλεις τελειώσει αυτήν άνωθεν· και την θύραν της κιβωτού θέλεις βάλει εκ πλαγίων· κατώγαια, διώροφα, και τριώροφα θέλεις κάμει αυτήν.

17 And, I, behold me! bringing in the flood—even waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh wherein is the spirit of life, from under the heavens, —everything that is in the earth, shall cease to breathe:

Εγώ δε, ιδού, εγώ επιφέρω τον κατακλυσμόν των υδάτων επί της γης, διά να εξολοθρεύσω πάσαν σάρκα, έχουσαν εν εαυτή πνεύμα ζωής υποκάτω του ουρανού· παν ό, τι είναι επί της γης, θέλει αποθάνει.

18 therefore will I establish my covenant with thee, —and thou shalt enter into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives, with thee.

Και θέλω στήσει την διαθήκην μου προς σέ· και θέλεις εισέλθει εις την κιβωτόν, συ, και οι υιοί σου, και η γυνή σου, και αι γυναίκες των υιών σου μετά σου.

19 Moreover of all the living creatures of all flesh—two of each, shalt thou bring into the ark to keep alive with thee, —male and female, shall they be.

Και από παντός ζώου εκ πάσης σαρκός, ανά δύο εκ πάντων θέλεις εισάξει εις την κιβωτόν, διά να φυλάξης την ζωήν αυτών μετά σεαυτού· άρσεν και θήλυ θέλουσιν είσθαι.

20 Of the bird after its kind and of the beast after its kind, [and] of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of each, shall come in unto thee. for keeping alive.

Από των πτηνών κατά το είδος αυτών, και από των κτηνών κατά το είδος αυτών, από πάντων των ερπετών της γης κατά το είδος αυτών, ανά δύο εκ πάντων θέλουσιν εισέλθει προς σε, διά να φυλάξης την ζωήν αυτών.

21 But thou, take to thee of all food that is eaten, and gather it unto thee, —and it shall be for thee and for them for food.

Και συ λάβε εις σεαυτόν από παντός φαγητού το οποίον τρώγεται, και θέλεις συνάξει αυτό πλησίον σου· και θέλει είσθαι εις σε, και εις αυτά, προς τροφήν.

22 And Noah did [so], —according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Και έκαμεν ο Νώε κατά πάντα όσα προσέταξεν εις αυτόν ο Θεός· ούτως έκαμε.
