Ezekiel 6

1 Then came the word of Yahweh. unto me saying,

La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

2 Son of man, Set thy face against the mountains of Israel, — and prophesy unto them;

Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face vers les montagnes d'Israël et prophétise contre elles.

3 and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of My Lord Yahweh, — Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh- To the mountains and to the hills to the hollows and to the valleys, - Behold me! I, am bringing upon you a sword, And I will destroy your high places;

Tu diras: Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Yahweh: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh aux montagnes et aux collines, aux ravins et vallées: Voici que je fais venir contre vous l'épée, et je détruirai vos hauts lieux.

4 And your altars shall be laid waste, And your sun-pillars shall be broken in pieces, — And I will cause your slain to fall before your manufactured gods;

Et vos autels seront dévastés, et vos colonnes solaires seront brisées; et je ferai tomber vos hommes frappés à mort devant vos idoles.

5 And I will lay the carcases of the sons of Israel before their manufactured gods, — And will scatter your bones round about your altars.

Je mettrai les cadavres des enfants d'Israël devant leurs idoles. Et je sèmerai vos ossements autour de vos autels.

6 In all your dwelling-places, The cities, shall be laid waste, and, The high places, shall be made desolate, To the end your altars may be laid waste and become desolate. And your manufactured gods be broken in pieces and cease, And your sun-pillars be cut down, And your handiworks be abolished.

Partout où vous habitez, les villes seront désolées, et les hauts lieux dévastés, afin que vos autels soient désolés et détruits, vos idoles brisées et anéanties, vos colonnes solaires abattues, et vos ouvrages ruinés.

7 And the slain shall fall in your midst, So shall ye know that I am Yahweh.

Des blessés à mort tomberont au milieu de vous, et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

8 Yet will I leave a remnant: In that ye shall have such as are escaped of the sword throughout the nations, when ye are scattered throughout the lands.

Mais je vous laisserai un reste, des réchappés du glaive parmi les nations, quand vous serez dispersés dans les pays.

9 Then shall they who have escaped of you remember me, among the nations whither they have been carried captive, In that I have broken their adulterous heart, which hath turned aside from me, And their eyes which have adulterously gone after their manufactured gods, So shall they become loathsome in their own sight, for the wicked things which they have done in all their abominations.

Et vos réchappés se souviendront de moi chez les nations, où je les emmènerai captifs, quand j'aurai brisé leur cœur adultère, qui s'est détourné de moi, et leurs yeux adultères, qui se sont tournés vers leurs idoles; et ils se prendront eux-mêmes en dégoût, pour le mal qu'ils ont fait, en commettant toutes leurs abominations.

10 Then shall they know that, I, Yahweh, —not in vain, had threatened to bring upon them this calamity.

Et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh; ce n'est pas en vain que j'ai parlé de faire venir sur eux ces maux.

11 Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Smite with thy hand, and stamp with thy foot and say, Alas! regarding all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel, —in that by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, shall they fall:

Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Frappe dans ta main et bats du pied, et dis: Hélas! sur toutes les méchantes abominations de la maison d'Israël, qui va périr par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste.

12 He that is far off by pestilence, shall die and He that is near by the sword, shall fall, and He that is left and is besieged by the famine, shall die; Thus will I make an end of mine indignation against them.

Celui qui sera loin mourra de la peste, et celui qui sera près tombera par l'épée; celui qui sera resté et sera conservé mourra de faim, et j'assouvirai sur eux mon courroux.

13 So shall ye know that I, am Yahweh, In that their slain are in the midst of their manufactured gods, on every side of their altars, — Upon every high hill In all the tops of the mountains and Under every green tree and Under every tangled oak, The place where they offered a satisfying odour to all their manufactured gods.

Et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh quand leurs morts seront couchés au milieu de leurs idoles autour de leurs autels, sur toute colline élevée, sur tous les sommets des montagnes, sous tout arbre vert, et sous tout chêne au feuillage touffu, à l'endroit où ils ont offert un encens d'agréable odeur à toutes leurs idoles.

14 Thus will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land a greater waste and devastation than the desert toward Diblah throughout all their dwelling-places, - And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.

J'étendrai ma main contre eux, et je rendrai le pays désolé et dévasté, depuis le désert jusqu'à Diblah, partout où ils habitent; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh.
