Ezekiel 32
1 And it came to pass, in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
La douzième année, au douzième mois, le premier du mois, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 Son of man Take up a dirge over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and thou shalt say unto him. The young lion of the nations, thou didst deem thyself, - Whereas thou, wast like the crocodile in the seas, And didst cause thy streams to burst forth And didst trouble the waters with thy feet, And foul their rivers.
« Fils de l’homme! prononce une lamentation sur Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, et dis-lui: Lion des nations, tu es anéanti! Tu étais comme le crocodile dans les mers; tu t’élançais dans tes fleuves; de tes pieds tu en remuais les eaux et tu troublais leurs canaux.
3 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Therefore will I spread over thee my net, With a gathered host of many peoples, -And they shall bring thee up in my net;
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: J’étendrai sur toi mon filet au moyen d’une assemblée de peuples nombreux, et ils te tireront dehors avec mes rets.
4 And I will stretch thee out on the land, Over the face of the field, will I fling thee, - And will cause to settle upon thee all the birds of the heavens, And will satiate with thee the wild beasts of all the earth;
Je t’abandonnerai sur le sol, je te jetterai sur la face des champs et je ferai se poser sur toi tous les oiseaux du ciel, et se rassasier de toi les bêtes de toute la terre.
5 And I will lay thy flesh on the mountains, — And fill the valleys, with thy blood;
Je mettrai ta chair sur les montagnes, et je remplirai de tes débris les vallées.
6 And will soak the earth with thy blood, amongst the mountains, - And the channels shall be filled with thee.
J’arroserai le pays des flots de ton sang jusqu’aux montagnes, et les ravins seront remplis de toi.
7 And when I quench thee, I will cover the heavens, And obscure their stars, — The sun—with a cloud, will I cover, And the moon shall not shed her light;
En t’éteignant je voilerai les cieux, et j’obscurcirai leurs étoiles; je couvrirai de nuages le soleil, et la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière.
8 As for all the light-bearers in the heavens, I will obscure them over thee— And will stretch out darkness over thy land, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
Je vêtirai de deuil, à cause de toi, tous les astres qui brillent dans le ciel, et je répandrai des ténèbres sur ton pays; — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.
9 And I will aggrieve the heart of many peoples, - when I bring them who are broken off from thee among the nations, unto lands which thou hast not known.
Je troublerai le cœur de beaucoup de peuples, quand je ferai parvenir la nouvelle de ta ruine chez les nations, en des pays que tu ne connaissais point.
10 Yea I will cause amazement over thee unto many peoples And the hair of their kings shall stand on end over thee, when I brandish my sword over their faces, - And they shall tremble every moment every man for his own life, In the day of thy fall.
Je frapperai de stupeur à ton sujet beaucoup de peuples; à cause de toi, leurs rois seront pris de frisson, quand j’agiterai mon glaive devant eux; et ils trembleront à tout instant, chacun pour sa vie, au jour de ta ruine.
11 For thus saith My Lord, Yahweh: -the sword of the king of Babylon shall reach thee.
Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: L’épée du roi de Babylone viendra sur toi!
12 With the swords of mighty men, will I cause thy multitude to fall, Terrible ones of the nations all of them!-And they shall spoil the pride of Egypt, And all her multitude shall be destroyed,
Je ferai tomber ta multitude sous l’épée d’hommes vaillants, féroces entre tous les peuples; ils abattront l’orgueil de l’Égypte, et toute sa multitude sera exterminée.
13 And I will cause to perish all her beasts, from beside the many waters, — And the foot of man shall not trouble them any more, Nor shall hoof of beast, trouble them.
Je ferai disparaître tout son bétail, du bord des grandes eaux; le pied de l’homme ne les troublera plus, et le sabot des bestiaux ne les troublera plus.
14 Then, will I make their waters subside, And, their streams—like oil, will I cause to flow, — Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Alors je ferai reposer ses eaux, et couler ses fleuves comme l’huile, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh,
15 When I make the land of Egypt an astonishment A land laid bare of its fulness, When I cut off all that dwell therein, Then shall they know that, I am Yahweh.
quand je réduirai la terre d’Égypte en solitude, et que le pays sera dépouillé de ce qu’il contient, quand je frapperai tous ceux qui y habitent; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh.
16 A dirge, it is And they shall chant it, The daughters of the nations Shall chant it: Over Egypt and over all her multitude, Shall they chant it, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Telle est la lamentation, et on la prononcera, les filles des nations la prononceront; elles la prononceront sur l’Égypte et toute sa multitude; — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. »
17 And it came to pass in the twelfth year on the fifteenth of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
La douzième année, le quinze du mois, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:
18 Son of man Wail thou over the multitude of Egypt and cause it to descend—her and the daughters of the famous nations—into the earth below with them who descend into the pit.
« Fils de l’homme, gémis sur la multitude de l’Égypte; fais-la descendre, elle et les filles des nations illustres, dans les profondeurs de la terre, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
19 Than whom, art thou more precious? Descend and be laid low with the uncircumcised:
Qui surpassais-tu en beauté?... Descends, et couche-toi avec les incirconcis!
20 Into the midst of them who were thrust through by the sword, let them fall, -To the sword, hath she been delivered up, Lay ye hold of her and all her multitudes.
Ils tomberont au milieu de ceux qu’a transpercés l’épée! L’épée est donnée; entraînez l’Égypte et toutes ses multitudes!
21 The chiefs of the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hades, with his helpers, - They have descended They have lain down. The uncircumcised! Thrust through by the sword. (Sheol h7585)
Les plus puissants parmi les héros lui parleront, du milieu du schéol, avec ses soutiens: Ils sont descendus et sont couchés, les incirconcis transpercés par l’épée! (Sheol h7585)
22 There, is Assyria with all her gathered host, Round about him, are his graves, All of them thrust through, The fallen by the sword:
Là est Assur avec tout son peuple, autour de lui sont ses sépulcres; tous ont été transpercés, tous sont tombés par l’épée.
23 Whose graves have been set In the recesses of the pit, And so her gathered host is round about her grave, All of them thrust through. Fallen by the sword, Who caused terror in the land of the living.
Ses sépulcres sont placés au plus profond de la fosse; son peuple est rangé autour de son sépulcre; tous ont été transpercés, tous sont tombés par l’épée; eux qui avaient répandu la terreur sur la terre des vivants!
24 There, is Persia with all her multitude, round about her grave, — All of them, thrust through The fallen by the sword Who have descended, uncircumcised into the earth below Who made themselves a terror in the land of the living, And so they have borne their confusion with them who descend into the pit:
Là est Elam, et toute sa multitude, autour de son sépulcre; tous ont été transpercés, tous sont tombés par l’épée, ces incirconcis qui sont descendus dans les profondeurs de la terre, eux qui avaient répandu la terreur sur la terre des vivants; ils ont porté leur ignominie avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse.
25 In the midst of them who were thrust through, have they have placed a couch for her with all her multitude, Round about it, are her graves, -All of them, uncircumcised. Thrust through with the sword. For that their terror was caused in the land of the living. And so they have borne their confusion, with them who descend into the pit, In the midst of them who were thrust through, hath it been placed.
Au milieu de ceux qui ont été transpercés, on prépare sa couche pour lui avec toute sa multitude; autour de lui sont ses sépulcres; tous sont des incirconcis, tous ont été transpercés par l’épée; car leur terreur s’était répandue sur la terre des vivants, et ils ont porté leur ignominie, avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse; on les a placés parmi les égorgés.
26 There, are Meshech-Tuba and all her multitude, Round about it, are her graves, — All of them uncircumcised, Who were thrust through with the sword, For that they made themselves a terror in the land of the living;
Là sont Mosoch, Thubal et toute sa multitude; autour de lui sont ses sépulcres; tous sont incirconcis, tous ont été transpercés par l’épée; car ils avaient répandu la terreur sur la terre des vivants.
27 Therefore shall they not lie with the mighty men The fallen ones from age-past times, Who descended into hades with their weapons of war And their swords were placed under their heads. But their iniquities have come upon their bones Because of the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. (Sheol h7585)
Ils ne se coucheront pas avec les vaillants, qui sont tombés d’entre les incirconcis, qui sont descendus au schéol, avec leurs armes de guerre, et sous la tête desquels on a mis leur épée; mais leurs iniquités sont sur leurs os, car ils étaient la terreur des vaillants, sur la terre des vivants. (Sheol h7585)
28 Thou, therefore in the midst of the uncircumcised, shalt be overthrown. And shalt lie low with them who were thrust through by the sword.
Toi aussi, tu seras brisé au milieu des incirconcis, et tu seras couché avec ceux qui ont été transpercés par l’épée.
29 There, are Edom her kings and all her princes, Who have been delivered up in their might. With them who were thrust through by he sword, — They with the uncircumcised, shall lie low. Even with them who descend into the pit.
Là est Edom, ses rois et tous ses princes, qui, malgré leur vaillance, ont été mis avec ceux qui ont été transpercés par l’épée; eux aussi sont couchés avec les incirconcis, et avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse.
30 There, are the princes of the North, all of them, and all the Zidonians, Who have descended with them who were thrust through. By reason of the terror they caused, of their might, are they ashamed, So they have lain down uncircumcised. With them who were thrust through by the sword, And they have bowed their confusion with them who descend into the pit.
Là sont les princes du septentrion, eux tous et tous les Sidoniens; ils sont descendus avec les transpercés, malgré la terreur qu’ils inspiraient; malgré leur vaillance, ils sont confondus! Ils sont couchés, ces incirconcis, avec ceux qui ont été transpercés par l’épée, et ils portent leur ignominie, avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse.
31 Them, shall Pharaoh see, and be grieved over all his multitude, — Thrust through with the sword, shall be Pharaoh and all his army! Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Pharaon les verra et se consolera, au sujet de toute sa multitude; Pharaon est transpercé par l’épée avec toute son armée, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh!
32 For I have suffered his terror to be in the land of the living, Therefore shall be laid low In the midst of the uncircumcised With them who were thrust through by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude! Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Car j’avais répandu sa terreur sur la terre des vivants, et le voilà couché au milieu des incirconcis, avec ceux qui ont été transpercés par l’épée, lui, Pharaon, et toute sa multitude, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh! »
