Ezekiel 32
1 And it came to pass, in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
La douzième année, au douzième mois, le premier jour du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée, en ces termes:
2 Son of man Take up a dirge over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and thou shalt say unto him. The young lion of the nations, thou didst deem thyself, - Whereas thou, wast like the crocodile in the seas, And didst cause thy streams to burst forth And didst trouble the waters with thy feet, And foul their rivers.
« Fils d'homme, élève une complainte sur Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et dis-lui, « Tu as été comparé à un jeune lion des nations; mais vous êtes comme un monstre dans les mers. Tu t'es échappé avec tes rivières, et tu as agité les eaux avec tes pieds, et ont souillé leurs rivières. »
3 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Therefore will I spread over thee my net, With a gathered host of many peoples, -And they shall bring thee up in my net;
Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « J'étendrai mon filet sur toi avec une compagnie de peuples nombreux. Ils vous feront monter dans mon filet.
4 And I will stretch thee out on the land, Over the face of the field, will I fling thee, - And will cause to settle upon thee all the birds of the heavens, And will satiate with thee the wild beasts of all the earth;
Je vous laisserai sur la terre. Je vous jetterai en plein champ, et fera en sorte que tous les oiseaux du ciel se posent sur toi. Je rassasierai de toi les animaux de toute la terre.
5 And I will lay thy flesh on the mountains, — And fill the valleys, with thy blood;
Je déposerai ta chair sur les montagnes, et remplissez les vallées de votre hauteur.
6 And will soak the earth with thy blood, amongst the mountains, - And the channels shall be filled with thee.
J'arroserai aussi de votre sang le pays dans lequel vous vous baignez, même dans les montagnes. Les cours d'eau seront pleins de vous.
7 And when I quench thee, I will cover the heavens, And obscure their stars, — The sun—with a cloud, will I cover, And the moon shall not shed her light;
Quand je t'éteindrai, je couvrirai les cieux. et rend ses étoiles sombres. Je couvrirai le soleil d'un nuage, et la lune ne donnera pas sa lumière.
8 As for all the light-bearers in the heavens, I will obscure them over thee— And will stretch out darkness over thy land, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
Je ferai s'obscurcir sur toi tous les luminaires du ciel, et mettre les ténèbres sur ton pays, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
9 And I will aggrieve the heart of many peoples, - when I bring them who are broken off from thee among the nations, unto lands which thou hast not known.
« Je vais aussi troubler le cœur de nombreux peuples, quand je vous détruirai parmi les nations, dans les pays que vous n'avez pas connus.
10 Yea I will cause amazement over thee unto many peoples And the hair of their kings shall stand on end over thee, when I brandish my sword over their faces, - And they shall tremble every moment every man for his own life, In the day of thy fall.
Oui, je ferai en sorte que beaucoup de peuples s'étonnent de toi, et leurs rois auront une peur bleue de toi, quand je brandirai mon épée devant eux. Ils trembleront à chaque instant, chaque homme pour sa propre vie, au jour de ta chute. »
11 For thus saith My Lord, Yahweh: -the sword of the king of Babylon shall reach thee.
Car le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « L'épée du roi de Babylone viendra sur toi.
12 With the swords of mighty men, will I cause thy multitude to fall, Terrible ones of the nations all of them!-And they shall spoil the pride of Egypt, And all her multitude shall be destroyed,
Je ferai tomber ta multitude par les épées des puissants. Ce sont tous les impitoyables des nations. Ils réduiront à néant l'orgueil de l'Égypte, et toute sa multitude sera détruite.
13 And I will cause to perish all her beasts, from beside the many waters, — And the foot of man shall not trouble them any more, Nor shall hoof of beast, trouble them.
Je détruirai aussi tous ses animaux à côté des grandes eaux. Le pied de l'homme ne les troublera plus, et les sabots des animaux ne les dérangeront pas.
14 Then, will I make their waters subside, And, their streams—like oil, will I cause to flow, — Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Alors je rendrai leurs eaux limpides, et faire couler leurs rivières comme de l'huile, » dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
15 When I make the land of Egypt an astonishment A land laid bare of its fulness, When I cut off all that dwell therein, Then shall they know that, I am Yahweh.
« Quand je rendrai le pays d'Égypte désert et dévasté, une terre dépourvue de ce dont elle était pleine, quand je frapperai tous ceux qui y habitent, alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
16 A dirge, it is And they shall chant it, The daughters of the nations Shall chant it: Over Egypt and over all her multitude, Shall they chant it, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
"''C'est la complainte avec laquelle ils se lamenteront. C'est avec elle que les filles des nations se lamenteront. Elles se lamenteront avec elle sur l'Égypte et sur toute sa multitude, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.''"
17 And it came to pass in the twelfth year on the fifteenth of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
La douzième année, le quinzième jour du mois, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
18 Son of man Wail thou over the multitude of Egypt and cause it to descend—her and the daughters of the famous nations—into the earth below with them who descend into the pit.
Fils d'homme, pleure sur la multitude de l'Égypte, et précipite-la, elle et les filles des nations célèbres, dans les profondeurs de la terre, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
19 Than whom, art thou more precious? Descend and be laid low with the uncircumcised:
Devant qui passes-tu en beauté? Descends, et sois couchée avec les incirconcis.
20 Into the midst of them who were thrust through by the sword, let them fall, -To the sword, hath she been delivered up, Lay ye hold of her and all her multitudes.
Ils tomberont parmi ceux qui sont tués par l'épée. Elle est livrée au glaive. Emporte-la avec toute sa multitude.
21 The chiefs of the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hades, with his helpers, - They have descended They have lain down. The uncircumcised! Thrust through by the sword. (Sheol h7585)
Le fort parmi les puissants lui parlera du milieu du séjour des morts, avec ceux qui le secourent. Ils sont descendus. Les incirconcis reposent, tués par l'épée. (Sheol h7585)
22 There, is Assyria with all her gathered host, Round about him, are his graves, All of them thrust through, The fallen by the sword:
« Asshur est là avec toute sa troupe. Ses tombeaux sont tout autour d'elle. Ils sont tous morts, tombés par l'épée,
23 Whose graves have been set In the recesses of the pit, And so her gathered host is round about her grave, All of them thrust through. Fallen by the sword, Who caused terror in the land of the living.
leurs tombes sont placées dans les profondeurs de la fosse, et sa troupe est autour de sa tombe, tous morts, tombés par l'épée, qui semaient la terreur dans le pays des vivants.
24 There, is Persia with all her multitude, round about her grave, — All of them, thrust through The fallen by the sword Who have descended, uncircumcised into the earth below Who made themselves a terror in the land of the living, And so they have borne their confusion with them who descend into the pit:
« Voici Élam et toute sa multitude autour de son tombeau; tous ont été tués, sont tombés par l'épée, sont descendus incirconcis dans les profondeurs de la terre, ont semé la terreur dans le pays des vivants, et ont porté leur honte avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
25 In the midst of them who were thrust through, have they have placed a couch for her with all her multitude, Round about it, are her graves, -All of them, uncircumcised. Thrust through with the sword. For that their terror was caused in the land of the living. And so they have borne their confusion, with them who descend into the pit, In the midst of them who were thrust through, hath it been placed.
Ils ont fait d'Élam un lit parmi les morts, avec toute sa multitude. Ses sépulcres sont autour d'elle, tous incirconcis, tués par l'épée; car leur terreur a été causée dans le pays des vivants, et ils ont porté leur honte avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse. Il est mis au nombre de ceux qui sont tués.
26 There, are Meshech-Tuba and all her multitude, Round about it, are her graves, — All of them uncircumcised, Who were thrust through with the sword, For that they made themselves a terror in the land of the living;
« Voilà Meshech, Tubal, et toute leur multitude. Leurs tombes les entourent, tous les incirconcis, tués par l'épée, car ils ont semé la terreur dans le pays des vivants.
27 Therefore shall they not lie with the mighty men The fallen ones from age-past times, Who descended into hades with their weapons of war And their swords were placed under their heads. But their iniquities have come upon their bones Because of the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. (Sheol h7585)
Ils ne coucheront pas avec les puissants tombés parmi les incirconcis, qui sont descendus au séjour des morts avec leurs armes de guerre et qui ont mis leurs épées sous leurs têtes. Leurs iniquités sont sur leurs os, car ils étaient la terreur des puissants au pays des vivants. (Sheol h7585)
28 Thou, therefore in the midst of the uncircumcised, shalt be overthrown. And shalt lie low with them who were thrust through by the sword.
« Mais tu seras brisé parmi les incirconcis, et tu coucheras avec ceux qui sont tués par l'épée.
29 There, are Edom her kings and all her princes, Who have been delivered up in their might. With them who were thrust through by he sword, — They with the uncircumcised, shall lie low. Even with them who descend into the pit.
« Voici Édom, ses rois et tous ses princes, qui, dans leur puissance, sont couchés avec ceux qui sont tués par l'épée. Ils seront couchés avec les incirconcis, et avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
30 There, are the princes of the North, all of them, and all the Zidonians, Who have descended with them who were thrust through. By reason of the terror they caused, of their might, are they ashamed, So they have lain down uncircumcised. With them who were thrust through by the sword, And they have bowed their confusion with them who descend into the pit.
« Voilà les princes du nord, tous, et tous les Sidoniens, qui sont descendus avec les morts. Ils sont honteux de la terreur qu'ils ont causée par leur puissance. Ils gisent incirconcis avec ceux qui sont tués par l'épée, et ils portent leur honte avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
31 Them, shall Pharaoh see, and be grieved over all his multitude, — Thrust through with the sword, shall be Pharaoh and all his army! Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
« Pharaon les verra et sera consolé de toute sa multitude, Pharaon et toute son armée, tués par l'épée », dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
32 For I have suffered his terror to be in the land of the living, Therefore shall be laid low In the midst of the uncircumcised With them who were thrust through by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude! Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
« Car j'ai mis sa terreur dans le pays des vivants. Il sera couché parmi les incirconcis, avec ceux qui sont tués par l'épée, Pharaon et toute sa multitude », dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
