Ezekiel 3

1 Then said he unto me, Son of man What thou findest, eat, —eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

Og han sagde med meg: «Menneskjeson! Et det du finn! Et denne bokrullen, og gakk, tala til Israels-lyden!»

2 So I opened my mouth, —and he caused me to eat this roll.

Og eg let upp min munn, og han gav meg denne bokrullen å eta.

3 Then said he unto me Son of man. Thy belly, cause thou to eat and thy bowels, fill thou with this roll which I am giving unto thee. So I did eat, and it became in my mouth, as honey for sweetness.

Og han sagde med meg: «Menneskjeson! Din buk skal du metta, og dine innvolar skal du fylla med denne bokrullen som eg gjev deg.» Og eg åt, og han var i munnen min søt som honning.

4 Then said he unto me, — Son of man Go get thee unto the house of Israel, and thou shalt speak with my words, unto them.

Og han sagde med meg: «Menneskjeson! Gakk av stad til Israels hus og tala til deim med mine ord!

5 For not unto a people deep of lip and heavy of tongue, art thou sent —[but] unto the house of Israel:

For du vert ikkje send til eit folk med ugreidt mål og tungmælt tunga, men til Israels-lyden.

6 not unto many peoples deep of lip and heavy of tongue, whose words thou couldst not understand, —surely if unto them I had sent thee, they would have hearkened unto thee.

Ikkje til mange folkeslag med ugreidt mål og tungmælt tunga, so du ikkje skynar ordi deira, i sanning, um eg sende deg til deim, so skulde dei høyra på deg.

7 But the house of Israel will not be willing to hearken unto thee, for they are not willing to hearken unto me, —for all the house of Israel are bold of forehead and hard of heart.

Men Israels-lyden skal ikkje vilja lyda på deg, for dei vil ikkje lyda på meg. For all Israels-lyden - harde skallar og stinne hjarto hev dei.

8 Lo! I have made thy face bold like as their faces, and thy forehead bold like as their forehead.

Sjå, eg gjer di åsyn hard mot deira åsyn og di panna hard mot deira pannor.

9 As an adamant harder than flint, have I made thy forehead, —thou shalt not fear them neither shalt thou be dismayed at their faces, For a perverse house, they are!

Som demant, hardare enn stein, gjer eg di panna. Du skal ikkje ottast deim og ikkje vera forfærd framfor deira åsyn, for ei tråssug ætt er dei.»

10 Then said he unto me, — Son of man. All my words which I shall speak unto thee, receive thou into thy heart and in thine ears, hear thou:

Og han sagde med meg: «Menneskjeson! Alle mine ord som eg talar til deg, tak deim inn i ditt hjarta og høyr deim med dine øyro!

11 then go get thee unto them of the captivity, unto the sons of thy people, and thou shalt speak unto them and say unto them, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear.

Og gakk av stad til dei burtførde, til ditt folks born, og tala til deim og seg med deim: So segjer Herren, Herren - anten dei vil lyda på eller ei.»

12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great rushing, — Blessed be the glory of Yahweh. From his place!

Då lyfte åndi meg upp, og eg høyrde attanfor meg ein dynjande sterk ljom: «Lova vere Herrens herlegdom frå den staden der han er!»

13 Yea the sound of the wings of the living ones, gently touching each other, and the sound of the wheels, along with them, even the sound of a great rushing.

likeins ljomen av dei fire livende, når vengjerne deira møttest, og ljomen av hjuli attmed deim, ein dynjande sterk ljom.

14 So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away, —and I went bitterly, in the rage of my spirit, but the hand of Yahweh upon me was strong.

Åndi lyfte meg då upp og tok meg med, og eg for av stad, hugsår og uppøst i mi ånd, og Herrens hand var sterk yver meg.

15 Thus came I unto them of the captivity, at Tel-abib. who were dwelling towards he river Chebar and I dwelt where They were dwelling; yea I dwelt there seven days, stunned in their midst,

Og eg kom til dei burtførde i Tel-Abib som budde attmed Kebarelvi, til den staden der dei budde, og der sat eg hjå deim i tri dagar, hugstolen og reint ifrå meg.

16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying

So hende det etter sju dagar at Herrens ord kom til meg; han sagde:

17 Son of man, A watchman, have I appointed thee to the house of Israel, —and thou shalt hear, at my mouth a message, and shalt warn them from me.

«Menneskjeson! Til vaktar hev eg sett deg for Israels-lyden; når du då høyrer eit ord frå min munn, skal du vara deim åt frå meg.

18 When I say to the lawless man— Thou shalt surely die, and thou hast not given him warning, neither hast spoken to warn the lawless man from his lawless way, to save himself alive the same lawless man in his iniquity shall die, but his blood, at thy hand, will I require.

Når eg segjer til den ugudlege: «Du skal døy, » og du ikkje varar honom åt, og ikkje talar og varar den ugudlege åt for hans ugudlege veg, til frelsa for hans liv, då skal han, den ugudlege, døy for si misgjerning, men hans blod vil eg krevja av di hand.

19 Whereas when thou hast warned a lawless man, and he hath not turned from his lawlessness and from his lawless way he in his iniquity shall die, but Thou hast delivered thine own soul.

Og når du varar den ugudlege, men han vender ikkje um frå si gudløysa og frå sin ugudlege veg, då skal han døy for si misgjerning, men du hev berga di sjæl.

20 And when a righteous man hath turned from his righteousness, and committed perversity, and I have suffered a stumbling- block to be laid before him he shall die, —though thou hast not warned him, in his sin, shall he die, neither shall be remembered his righteous deeds which he hath done, but his blood, at thy hand will I require;

Og når ein rettferdig vender seg frå si rettferd og gjer urett, so vil eg leggja støyt framfor hans åsyn; - han skal døy. Um du ikkje hev vara honom åt, skal han døy i si synd, og den rettferdi som han gjorde, skal ikkje verta ansa, men hans blod vil eg krevja av di hand.

21 whereas when Thou hast warned a righteous man. That a righteous man must not sin and he hath not sinned, he shall surely live in that he took warning, and thou hast delivered thine own soul.

Men um du hev vara den rettferdige, at rettferdig mann skal ikkje synda, og han då ikkje syndar, då skal han liva, sidan han let seg vara, og du hev berga di sjæl.»

22 Then came upon me there the hand of Yahweh, —and he said unto me, Arise go forth into the valley, and there, will I speak with thee.

Og Herrens hand kom der yver meg, og han sagde med meg: «Statt upp og gakk ut i dalen, der vil eg tala med deg.»

23 So I arose and went forth into the valley, and lo! there the glory of Yahweh, standing, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar, -and I fell upon my face.

Og eg stod upp og gjekk ut i dalen. Og sjå, der stod Herrens herlegdom lik den herlegdomen eg såg attmed elvi Kebar. Og eg fall ned på mitt andlit.

24 Then the Spirit entered into me, and caused me to stand upon my feet, —and he spake with me and said unto me, Go in shut thyself up, in the midst of thine own house,

Men åndi kom i meg og reiste meg upp på føterne. Og han tala med meg og sagde til meg: «Gakk og steng deg inne i huset ditt!

25 And thou—O son of man, lo! they have put upon thee bands, and they will bind thee therewith, -. so that thou go not forth in their midst;

Og du, menneskjeson. Sjå, dei skal binda deg med tog og setja deg fast med deim, so du ikkje kjem deg ut til å vera i lag med deim.

26 thy tongue also, will I cause to cleave unto the roof of thy mouth, so shalt thou be dumb and not be to them a reprover, — For a perverse house, they are!

Og tunga di let eg hanga fast ved gomerne dine, so du vert mållaus og ikkje vert deim ein refsingsmann. For ei tråssug ætt er dei.

27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them. Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, —He that is minded to hear, let him hear, And he that is minded to forbear, let him forbear! For a perverse house, they are!

Men når eg talar med deg, vil eg opna munnen din; då skal du segja til deim: So segjer Herren, Herren: Den som vil lyda på, han lyde, og den som ikkje vil gjeva gaum, han late vera! For ei tråssug ætt er dei.»
