Ezekiel 29
1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth of the month, came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:
En la douzième année, le dixième mois, le premier jour du mois, la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
2 Son of man, Set thy face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, And prophesy against him, and against Egypt all of it:
Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage contre le Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et prophétise contre lui et contre l'Égypte entière.
3 Speak, and thou shalt say— Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh Behold me! against thee O Pharaoh king of Egypt, The great Crocodile that lieth along in the midst of his rivers: Who saith— My river is, mine own, Since I myself made it me!
Et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Voilà, que je suis contre toi, Pharaon, grand dragon couché au milieu de tes fleuves, et disant: Les fleuves sont à moi, c'est moi qui les ai créés.
4 Therefore will I put hooks in thy jaws, And cause the fish of thy rivers to stick fast in thy scales, - And will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, And, all the fish of thy rivers, to thy scales, shall stick fast;
Je mettrai un hameçon dans tes mâchoires; je collerai à tes nageoires les poissons de ton fleuve, et je le tirerai du milieu de ton fleuve.
5 And I will stretch thee out towards the desert, Thee and all the fish of thy rivers, On the face of the field, shalt thou lie Thou shalt not be carried away nor shalt thou be gathered, To the wild beast of the earth and to the bird of the heavens, have I given thee for food.
Et je te jetterai soudain sur le rivage avec tous les poissons de ton fleuve. Tu tomberas sur la face de la terre; tu ne seras pas relevé; tu ne seras pas enseveli; je t'ai donné en pâture aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux du ciel.
6 So shall all the inhabitants of Egypt know that I, am Yahweh, Because they were a staff of reed to the house of Israel:
Et tous ceux qui habitent l'Égypte sauront que je suis le Seigneur. En punition de ce que tu as été pour la maison d'Israël un appui faible comme un roseau.
7 Whensoever they took hold of thee by the hand, thou didst run through, and tear open for them every hand, —And whensoever they leaned upon thee, thou didst break, and caused all their loins to halt.
Lorsqu'elle te tenait par la main, tu as plié; et lorsque par dérision on l'applaudissait des mains, et qu'elle se reposait sur toi, tu t'es brisé, et tu lui as rompu les reins.
8 Therefore, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! bringing upon thee a sword, - And I will cut off out of thee, man and beast;
À cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur: Voilà que je tire contre toi le glaive, et j'exterminerai les hommes et le bétail.
9 And the land of Egypt shall become an astonishment and a desolation, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh, —Because he said— The river is mine own, Since, I, myself made it!
Et il y aura ruine et désolation en la terre d'Egypte; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur; en punition de ce que tu as dit: Les fleuves sont à moi, c'est moi qui les ai créés.
10 Therefore, behold me! against thee and against thy rivers, - And I will make the land of Egypt to be most desolate an astounding desolation, from Migdol to Syene even up to the boundary of Ethiopia:
En punition de cela, voilà que je suis contre toi et contre tous les fleuves, et je livrerai la terre d'Égypte à la désolation, au glaive et à la ruine, depuis Magdolos et Syène jusqu'aux confins de l'Éthiopie.
11 The foot of man shall not pass through it, Nor shall the foot of beast, pass through it, Neither shall it be inhabited forty years:
Le pied de l'homme n'y posera plus, les troupeaux n'y passeront plus, et pendant quarante ans elle ne sera plus habitée.
12 So will I make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of lands made desolate And her cities—in the midst of cities that have been laid waste, shall become a desolation forty years, - And I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations, And scatter them throughout the lands.
Et je mettrai la terre d'Égypte au rang d'une terre déserte, et ses villes seront au rang des villes désertes pendant quarante ans. Et je disperserai l'Égypte parmi les nations, et je vannerai son peuple en tous lieux.
13 For thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — At the end of forty years, will I gather the Egyptians from among the peoples whither I had dispersed them;
Et voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Après quarante ans, je rassemblerai les Égyptiens d'entre les nations où ils auront été dispersés.
14 And I will turn the captivity of the Egyptians, And will cause them to return To the land of Pathros Upon the land of their nativity, - And they shall become, there a kingdom abased:
Et je ferai entrer les Égyptiens captifs, et je les établirai en la terre de Phathorès, en la terre d'où ils auront été enlevés; et ce sera un royaume humilié
15 More than [any of] the kingdoms, shall she be abased, And shall lift herself up no more over the nations, —Yea I will make them too small to rule over the nations.
Plus qu'aucun autre royaume. Elle ne s'élèvera plus au-dessus des nations; je les aurai réduits à un petit nombre pour qu'ils ne soient plus les plus grands parmi les peuples.
16 So shall it become no more unto the house of Israel a security. Calling to mind iniquity, by their turning to follow them, - And they shall know that, I, am The Lord Yahweh.
Et ils ne seront plus pour la maison d'Israël un espoir en qui elle ait confiance, lui rappelant son iniquité, lorsqu'elle se mit à leur suite; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
17 And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year in the first month on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
Et la vingt-septième année, le premier jour du premier mois, la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
18 Son of man Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, hath made his army undergo a long service against Tyre, Every head, hath been made bald, and, Every shoulder, worn bare, — But pay, hath he had none nor hath his army, out of Tyre, for the service wherewith he hath served against it.
Fils de l'homme, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a fait servir son armée à frapper Tyr d'une grande servitude; toute tête y est devenue chauve, toute épaule ensanglantée. Et ni lui ni son armée n'ont reçu de salaire pour m'avoir servi contre elle.
19 Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! giving to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, the land of Egypt, — And he shall carry off her multitude And capture her spoil And seize her prey, So shall she become pay for his army.
Ainsi dit le Seigneur Maître: Voilà que je donne à Nabuchodonosor la terre d'Égypte, et il en fera sa proie, et il en enlèvera des dépouilles; ce sera le salaire de son armée;
20 As a reward for his labour wherewith he hath served, have I given to him the land of Egypt, —in that they wrought for me, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
En récompense du service qu'il m'a rendu contre Tyr, je lui donne la terre d'Égypte; voici ce que dit le Seigneur Maître.
21 In that day, will I cause to bud a horn for the house of Israel, And to thee, will I give an opening of mouth in their midst, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.
En ce jour une corne sortira du front de toute la maison d'Israël; et, au milieu d'elle, je t'ouvrirai la bouche, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
